Apologies for the long review, want to keep it as honest, unbiased and fair as possible.
This review is based on our experience with New Generation Homes for the construction stage until lock up.

By August we were on our 3rd build supervisor. Our experience with the first two wasn’t the best, from a communication standpoint along with how effective they were in progressing the works.

I will say that our experience with our 3rd supervisor thus far since he’s taken over our project has been a vast improvement, both in communication and in the progression of works.

We are happy with the quality of the work thus far, we’ve had a building inspector at the plate height and roof framing stages which both raised several points that needed to be addressed and from what we were advised had been, looks to have been the case too. Regardless, between changing of supervisors, I couldn’t recommend enough for people looking to build to get an inspection done at each stage.

I had plenty of positives to point out in our initial review prior to construction starting, however having reached lock up now, I would be less hesitant to recommend building with New Gen (Summit). Again I’d like to highlight the improvement since Tyler came on to supervise our project, additionally I’d like to recognise Chloe (Client Administrator) who was very helpful when assisting us in recent months.

It’s easy to fall victim to the mentality of “other builders are doing it faster” which, calling a spade a spade, is true in some instances. Putting all of that aside, when you hear stories from people that are building with Summit in the same suburb that are having a better experience, it definitely stings. In saying that, it is too easy to make a general statement like that, so referring to two posts on a Facebook group for people building in Perth relating to their builds in the suburb of Baldivis with New Gen/Summit, one of them noted a slow start with their slab down In February (similar to ours) however they reached lockup in October and have been advised a January handover. Another post shared on the group stated their slab went down in April and were on to their tiles in November.

We are currently being advised our rendering that was planned for December may not be done until January due to a shortage of labour. Have been advised with a delay in cabinetry which is now penciled in for late January with tiles to follow.

If our building experience has shown us anything, along with everything we see and hear, it’s evident that a key factor in a successful build comes down to the specific site supervisor (through reviews I’ve read, Craig at Summit seems to be the common theme as a great overall supervisor).

We’re really hoping that the rest of our build goes well as I’d love nothing more than to be able to leave a positive final review and be confident in recommending Summit as a builder, which at this stage I would not be comfortable to recommend, really hoping they can finish strong.

One last comment, I would highlight that I have found everyone I’ve dealt with to be transparent and not sugar coat things to make them sound better which I would say is a positive.

Seems like summit homes are more interesting in getting a bad review removed. Then actually fixing the problem it's self.
We are so disappointed with Summit homes in there lack of communication and planning.
It's hard to believe them when they say delays in the industry are still on going when every other building companies in the same area as us are not having any delays.
This has turned into a real nightmare for my family when it's meant to be an exciting time.
Don't think we have had a full week of traders on site for the last 12 months. There guys come out and do maybe a day or 2 here and there then nothing for weeks. And to keep hearing them say that they are building us a high standard quality home is a little of the make from what I've seen so far.

AVOID AT ALL COST
My house was finished in February 2023 with an entire binder of structural and non structural defects. To this date in August 2023, all my emails have been completely ignored and seems they have run off with my money with no intent to resolve any of the issues. They are absolute crooks and thieves and should not be trusted to build your home.

I have the privilege to have work with Ms. Lena Alonzo as my agent and she has been pivotal in helping me with all the documents and understand the process of building a house. What a great help in securing my first home. From choosing the design and assisting me with all the details needed she really WORKS WELL and ABOVE THE BEYOND. Thanks and I'm looking forward to the finishing of my house soonnnnnnn.

We built with Summit back in 2019 and was a great experience from start to finish. Klime really understood our requirements as we needed a spacious home with a granny flat. He custom designed our home and it turned out exactly as we had hoped.

We were super happy with the build times and finishes throughout.

Pre-construction whilst interrupted by Covid and building/market overload pressure, my client administrator Izabela Valles went above and beyond.
Her guidance through the pre-start selection process was critical in some of the changes I made and the knowledge she imparted kept me on budget and on my design brief. Recommend her highly.

We signed-up with Summit Homes through EasyStart Homes and while we are still well into Pre-construction phase, our experience with Summit was excellent so far. Our journey started with the help of our New Home Consultant Lena Alonzo. Lena was highly recommended to us by our real estate developer and she didn't disappoint. She took us by the hand and patiently guided us every step of the way. Communication is very good and responses to our queries are quick. Lena is very thorough in both documentation and technical discussions, demonstrating to us in many occasions that she know her trade very well.
We did a bit of modification and upgrades to the original plans and the team at Summit made process so easy for us. During the much awaited pre-start, our Client Administrator Mikayla Donohue also patiently guided us on selection and helped us visualise how we envision our home, and a generous amout of time was allocated for us.
We are looking forward for the completion of our home build on time and kudos to the team at Summit Homes who is helping us to achieve this.

Easystart/Summit built my home in 2015. I had a positive experience and am very happy with the final product.

The customer service, commitment to deliver on time and on budget, and the quality of the trades they used for my new house (4 bed/ 3 bath) at West Leederville and in renovating my old house (that ended up being a finalist for renovation projects in WA) on the same block of land has been invaluable. From managing the sub-division process and completing construction on time under challenging and difficult circumstances, Summit Homes acted professionally and in line with the Council Code throughout the timeline.
Quentin Lau's advise and guidance on the whole project has been invaluable to us. He guided us to put money in the areas of the house where it matters, and we see the results now.
Even after 5 years of construction, Quentin and the team at Summit are still only a phone call away and are always willing to offer advice and help on any and all matter that relates to property development and renovation.
I would not hesitate using Summit Homes again with any budget I may have in mind for property construction, project management, stand alone house and renovation. For me, I work with people I can trust and Summit have always looked after me.
We have no issues with our houses that Summit built and renovated for us.

Summit Homes have been great so far. Anna Sharpe was very helpful and patient with our questions and demands at pre-starts. She provided a lot details and was clear with answers/quotations/choices etc. Was a pleasure to work with Anna. The house is progressing well and coming along nicely as we speak!

I purchased my first own home with Summit a year ago and am about to get my keys. My salesman, Daniel Lewis, supported me entirely through the whole process, answering every question in a timely manner, giving me honest answers to difficult questions without beating around the bush. His honest approach was unique amongst the many people I spoke to before choosing to go with Summit and his knowledge of the building industry and it's demands is incredible. If I phoned or had any moments of distress, he was there with answers, reassurance and solutions to any hiccups we came across, which were very minimal.
Building as a single parent was something I never thought I'd have the opportunity to do but I have now done it and I just can't believe how easy it has been.
Gary Pope from Keystart also went above and beyond in helping me get my finance and all tasks were done so quickly despite the announcement of the State and Federal Building Grants and Covid happening at the time I signed.
My building supervisor, Craig George was also incredibly helpful, calm, thorough and always ready to email me back with answers to my many questions. Nothing slipped by him. Ultimately, I had the most pain free experience building my first home it was incredible. The final 6 weeks or so were stressful but there were no serious issues and nothing above what any person building a new home would experience.
My pre-start co-ordinator, Jo Erasmus, was patient and helpful, once again, always available without much delay in answering questions etc. Even with a selection issue, the matter was resolved quickly and satisfactorily with the assistance of Daniel who liaised with me every step of the way. I felt really supported by everyone involved in the built from start to finish.
I highly recommend giving Daniel a call and seeing what he can do for you. I truly can't thank each and every one of the people I've mentioned enough. Thanks for getting me and my little ones into our own first home. I will be forever grateful for the experience.

Summit homes have done a fantastic job with our home. I would recommend them to build your home. They are great.

Exceptional customer service from initial consultation through the whole build to final inspection and handover.

Fantastic service provided by Summit homes, no request was to hard and they delivered an extremely high standard that was met in every way. I cannot recommend Summit enough as they satisfied every need of my home built from start to finish. It definitely is a provider that value their high quality delivery highly. My next home will save me a lot of time as I already have my builder selected and it’s no one else but the best for me (Summit Homes).

I have just recently built with Summit Homes. My partner and I studied the builders for about 12 months prior to deciding who we were building with. At last minute, we changed our mind and decided to go through Summit. Firstly, i'd like to say, WOW! - Really really happy with everything. The house itself is stunning and we are over the moon. The communication from Summit has been thorough throughout. The online portal they offer is a game changer that no other builder offered, I am so glad we had it as it allowed us to be aware of the not only the next step but the next 5 steps after that. We were able to keep up to date with the progress even when on holiday!

Our Site Supervisor, John Rees is a gentleman. He was always very kind and whenever I had a question, he was only a phone call away. John informed us of the next steps way in advance & his tradesmen are 5* - Danica was our Contracts Admin & she was extremely informative before, during and after pre-start. There was a small mistake on our contract and Danica ensured this was changed with no problems at all.

All builders have good and bad reviews however, I truely believe, Summit are one of the best if not thee best builder in Perth.

Our house is newly built so I look forward to giving an update in a few years time.
