I had my first hair appointment at Stylex yesterday. Moto cut my hair and did a great job. Very comfortable salon and reasonable prices. Will be going back. Happy client.

I visited this salon last week for a haircut, can't recommend enough! Motoki did an amazing job, he cut off the exact amount I asked for, evened up by layers from my previous cut (at a different salon) and made beautiful face framing layers. The salon is also very beautiful and clean!

Great to have such a professional hairdresser who is so friendly and conscientious. Great hair cut, great atmosphere.

Matoki is an absolute legend! He revived my hair that hadn't been cut in forever, and he made it look so fresh!

Wouldn’t recommend for people with curly hair, I went in for my appointment and wanted to cut my layers shorter and cut some face framing pieces. The lady said she can’t cut layers and will have to do a straight cut as it’s different lengths (when I told her it was layered). And then proceeded to straighten it to just cut it as she clearly had no idea how to work with curly hair. When she said how long I want the fringe I said to my jaw to frame my face, and she went straight in and cut it extremely short. When she asked if that’s ok, I explained that’s much shorter, she said you pointed at your eyes. I have been struggling with the uncontrollable bangs for a while now, as curly hair shrinks and I can only pin those pieces down. Also when I went to pay for my service she said she needs to charge for straightening it, when I didn’t ask for that service and was only due to her inability to cut curly hair. So it ended being $90 for technically a trim. This was the worst cut and most expensive one I have gotten. I rather be told prior that you are unfamiliar with curly hair then mess up a clients hair.

Upsetting, the response to this review isn’t an apology or a request for more information but rather says I’m confused with the salon next door.

I paid $160+ for a male perm from this hairdresser and the perm didn’t take. After waiting a few weeks to let my hair recover from the chemicals I was not given an opportunity for a re-perm. Would not recommend for this reason.

Love the way Sue cuts my hair. Found Stylex a couple of years ago and I couldn't be happier.

The salon was very neat tidy and clean. The hairstylist was patient and listens to clients’ preferences whilst offering his professional advice.

Have been going here for years. Haven't found anyone in Perth that can rival her cuts. Beautiful skill. Have also had foils, all over colours and blow outs over the years. Always leave happy.

I had my hair perming in Stylex. The first perming failed. They offered the second one. It failed again. My hair got severely damaged and I need to cut my damaged hair… I have wasted $150-200 AUD. Could you respond to me thanks.

I have had some very poor haircuts recently and expensive to boot. If you want to experience what hair work is all about, make an apt with Moto. This man spends time to get to know your hair, how it moves and what way to cut and style it that would work best for you as an individual. He listens and feeds back. This stylist is a genius with hair and ever such a genuine, nice guy. I highly recommend him.

Motoki gave me the best haircut I might have ever had. As someone who doesn't really think about this stuff I was unsure of exactly what I wanted, but he talked me through options and landed on something that suited me based on my ideas and hair-type. He was also just genuinely lovely to talk to. Really nice guy. I don't know much about prices compared to other places, but for me this was money well spent.

I was hesitant about trying a new place but I decided to give Stylex a go after reading the reviews. Motoki was
conscientious. As soon as he sat me down, he got to know me and my hair. Some of the questions he asked, no other stylist had ever asked me before.he wanted to know how I usually styled my hair to which I replied I just air dry it. You know he takes pride in his job as he noticed my hair had natural waves and he worked with them. He also asked how often I cut my hair and instead of pressuring me into coming more often, he made the haircut work to fit my schedule. From the beginning right to the end, we spoke as I watch him work his magic on my hair. I felt comfortable the entire time. The result of my visit? The outcome of his masterpiece (my hair) and me being relaxed. Perhaps we could have gone shorter, but I think he's done a fantastic job. People have complimented me so that's a testament to him. I’ve been trying to get my 15year old son to cut his hair and finally decided to get a haircut n found Stylex at the last minute. He was nervous as he wanted a particular hair cut from an animation his been watching. Motoki cut n styled his hair so perfectly that I could see the grin on his face. We will be going to see Motoki for his hair cut so if ur looking for a fantastic hairdresser that knows his cut, please go see him as he will not disappoint!

$212 for a hair perm? My hair wasn’t even that long and online it says $110! Absolutely ridiculous! Never coming back

I've had my hair rebonding done twice by Motuki and never got disappointed. I have been looking for a really good hairdresser that gets me since I moved to Perth 7 years ago and so happy to find Stylex last year! I had my haircut and layered 3 days ago and I am loving it! Will definitely come back again.
