We went here for lunch for our 5 year wedding anniversary with our two young daughters. First to arrive we got to pick the best table, Mary offered us a wine tasting, can attest the verdelho is award winning (we purchased a bottle for home along with a bottle of the rose). My husband ordered the duck special as recommended by Mary, it lived up to the expectation. We had the 3 cheese mushroom arancini balls to start and I had the squid and greek salad entree it is the best squid I've eaten in a long time, the service was impeccable, our girls shared a nuggets and chips along with some yummy icecream, Mary bought out the toy box to entertain the girls while we ate. Highly recommend visiting for wine tasting and an amazing meal. We will definitely be returning!

Was the last stop on a chittering based scavenger hunt that was to result in a nice picnic on the stringybark winery grounds.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a cold glass of water and a warm smile from the owner and proprietor Mary. She offered us some delicious house marinated olives (more on this later)

She entertained and delighted us with a tasting of all stringybarks highly awarded range of wines each paired with a hilarious tale regarding the wines origin. Mary, both a showman and wine maker herself, has an intimate knowledge of the amazing array on display. It’s hard not to lose yourself in her passion for her wines it’s infectious. The rose stood out as a particular favourite for us. Strawberry’s and cream on the front palate, toffee apple in the mid and a very pleasant medium dry finish that kept you going back for another sip. A perfect meal wine.

We decided to throw caution to wind and scrap our picnic and dine at the venue. We were Recomended the pate and the sticky half duck (both staples on the menu) I have to say both did not disappoint. The pate, rich creamy decadent just left us wanting more. Served with perfectly toasted mini baguettes and a sharp tart berry glaze it delighted the tastebuds. The prize and showstopper however was the duck, absolutely marvelled us at its size. The chef has roasted the duck to perfection. Moist crispy tender in all the places you want. Served with Asian greens and on a bed of rice and a side bowl of that sticky sauce for added deliciousness.
Upon completion, all that was left to do was get home for a nap after a job well done.

We asked Mary if we could purchase some of her house marinated olives to go, which she was only more than happy to accomodate. We have decided stringybark winery will be our new anniversary tradition. Do yourself a favour and take the drive up to stringybark winery. You won’t regret it.

Love the place, it's always nice to come back again and try the new vintages of wines and the meals are always perfect and of decent size.

Lovely lady took our orders. Bought a nice bottle of wine. The plate that my soup bowl came out on was dirty and the butter and small dish it came on was dusty. Also the table was very sticky, so not cleaned that well.

Stopped in for lunch after the taste of Chittering event. Despite being very busy managed to find us a table for two. Fantastic food and very attentive service. Live music from 3pm on the Sunday too. Matched wines were a winner also.

Gorgeous venue, staff are friendly and welcoming. Wine tasting provided a good insight into their range, would recommend the Chardonnay. Food was great to match. Will be back!

Don't be fooled by the limited menu on the website. The specials board truly reflects the quality credentials of the chef at this restaurant. Perfectly twice cooked sticky duck and goat curry followed the arancini starters and we were not disappointed. Can't wait to return to the open fire to try the other great dishes on offer at Stringybark.

Great place to eat, really friendly staff.
Curry was 10 out of 10, well worth pulling off the main road.

Service was absolutely amazing, very friendly and welcoming staff. We had a wine tasting with a lovely man and then lunch. Food was delicious and the wine was so nice we bought a bottle. Beautiful way to spend a rainy Sunday lunch.
Thank you so much for having us, definitely recommend.

I do not lie: It was the WORST dinning experience I have had in many years.
I booked 2 months ago, table of 16 plus 2 high chairs. A day before arrival I get a call confirming the booking AND to be told there is another booking of 30 ppl.
Well sorry, thats not my concern BUT what was.
We were put into a corner, on 2 tables. 1 of my family chose to eat outside, BECAUSE there was no room for the other family members. Infact it was that bad that my granddaughter head was on a corner piece of wood. She could not lean back in her chair She was so wedged in, when a glass was broken she couldn't move. What made it worse, the waitress commenced "i will stay here"
No assistance to clean the shattered glass.
Now the meals.the service on the meals was past shocking. They all came out at different times. The waitress kept asking who has missed out. And yes 2 kids got their food 1hr after I had finished.
A simple fish and chips for kids oh and another chips came out 1 hour after I had finished.
Ok all was eaten: family have left the table BECAUSE they were constantly reminded about this 30 ppl. And my sister and mother (94) sat there waiting to be asked if they would like coffee or dessert. NOTHING I repeat NOTHING not 1 person came up to ask if they would like something else to order.

Came for early dinner, very peaceful setting overlooking farm paddocks with sheep, donkeys, ducks, cockies
Had the duck pattie and turkish bread for entree, steak and the half duck and brisket for mains, was spot on.

If your looking for a quiet peaceful place for a few cold beers and a good feed then this is it, hidden gem!

I found everything below average. I ordered the duck and it wasn’t great. It was very overcooked but the skin was rubbery and inedible. Not worth $54 that’s for sure! Rest of the mains were just okay. The place also needs a makeover. Not worth the drive.

This place is something special. The duck and the pork belly (specials on the day for lunch) were the best we had (ever) tasted. Not pretentious or petite, but wholesome, flavoursome and divine.just writing the review brings back the memory makes me salivate.

Keep up the great work - we will be sure to visit again with friends

Went to Stringybark Winery on a whim, on a Sunday. The lunchtime crowd was arriving and we had not thought to book a table. The lovely Rochelle looked after us and found us a spot in the dress circle or naughty corner as the staff affectionately refer to it. The food was delicious and the portions generous. We couldn’t fault the service or the food, will definitely be going back but we’ll be sure to book in future.

Thank you for a delightful lunch and Rochelle, you are an exceptional hostess.
