The food here was disgusting. Do not be deceived by the look of thos place and please read the other one star reviews. At least they comp'd the desserts (which we did not eat) which my wife aptly described as tasting like "watermelon vomit".

The food is not the best and very unprofessional from the servers. It is not very tough to be nice in this world and as hospitality is a critical part of anyone’s experience visiting, it is shocking. The food is stale and this is me being frustrated as I have had these experiences multiple times now. Save your money and do not visit.

Wow! What a stunning restaurant. Service was amazing and the food was so delicious.
Morton Bay bug ravioli and the 7 layer cake were the standouts. Cocktails were great too. We will be back!

Food was delicious. Service was keen but somewhat inexperienced. The space was large and drafty and quite cool despite management providing gas space heaters.
I must say this was quite surprising given that the Precinct development is a large multi-story building with hundreds of apartments, with large sophisticated large air conditioning systems that would have been integrated into the space. Not quite sure what's going wrong here but the design needs to be looked at seriously. There were also no soft finishings on the windows which meant that noise was at a higher level than necessary.

Went to Stonewater after my partner recommended to try something new and close. We were warmly welcomed and accommodated to the top part of the restaurant- nice piano music and soft lighting made for a nice start of the night. We had a young waiter take our orders and we encountered the first issue - we did ask for a Campari and a Spritz, after a few minutes of wait we were told Campari wasn't available so I opted for a Moretti beer. The drinks arrived, only that magically the Spritz had become a Sprite (was sent back promptly), when the Spritz arrived we were puzzled the glass was half empty (I am a "glass half full" kind of guy but this time I couldn't fix the issue of the half glass). The waiter brought some focaccia and some olives (3) - the focaccia for some reason was uncooked in the middle but I was hungry so I chewed it down anyway. While I had one of the 3 olives I bit into a broken pip (the olives looked like they had no pip - luckily I didn't bite too hard and still retain all of my teeth). We decided to try the Sicilian Prawns and Beef Carpaccio with shared Lamb Shoulder as main. The 3 prawns that came in the entree must have been on a severe diet (halved and folded on top of each other they still look severely malnourished) - the only Sicilian touch to this entree was the 6 or 7 slithers of fennel under the prawns - needles to say avoid this as entree. The Beef Carpaccio tasted nice (there were 4 slices of Carpaccio instead of the forecasted 3 - to match the number of prawns and olives) - left me wanting for more. The unidentified super hard biscuits on top of the Carpaccio gave a good workout to my jaw muscles (trying to find some positives here, struggling to at the minute). Now - for the Lamb dish- 2 lamb cutlets (I was hoping to have the "traditional " 3 since all of the dishes display for some reason a Holy Trinity hint) and a blog of meat (later identified as the lamb shoulder - with definitely too much salt) with a couple of carrots and broccolini arrived on the table - frankly for $42 not great value for money. We did ask for a little bit of undercooked focaccia (which is not charged so that's a positive) - we got one serve with 2 pieces of focaccia and a third super hard bit of focaccia with the end missing (makes me think the day before leftover which was thrown in to keep the "3" theme). One of the 2 lamb cutlets was way undercooked, issue was raised and addressed promptly- we got 2 perfectly cooked cutlets back in a fast and swift manner.

The website says that we were going to be transported to the heart of Italy - I can assure you we were not. Service was good so no issues there. We mentioned there was an extra Spritz charged in the total bill - which was removed. All in all the worst attempt to italian food I have encountered (next time I should read all reviews before going to try another italian restaurant)

Felt misleading by the introduction on their web the moment i step in. Definitely Italian wanna be. Overpriced. Bland taste, nothing Italian besides the food name. Overcooked croutons? Undercooked on the house Focaccia. Raw lamb cutlet need to be sent back to kitchen. Don't ever dare to try the tiramisu. Run. Pronto.

Absolutely delicious food, brilliant service, and great atmosphere. When you first look at the menu, you may be taken aback by their prices until they come out and realise how big the portions are!

We shared the bread and the aubergine (though this was big enough to be a main). The fish soup is also under the category of entrees but defeated both of us.
The linguine was polished off out of shear determination, as all the food together was wayyyyy too much for us both.

The bread, aubergine, and fish soup are all highly recommended. Though the scallops in the fish soup ended up being very overcooked (due to the residual heat in the soup). The crab and tomato were on point and simply divine.

Given that the staff only had 2 front of house staff serving all the covers, they were extremely attentive to all patrons' needs. We even spied one of the waitresses speaking sign language to a customer - which was beautiful.

Everything was disability friendly and was accessible. I would not take children as it is a higher class restaurant. However, they did have a kids menu and do cater for birthday with family sized tables.

Very pleasant dining experience, beautiful fitout! Exactly what the area needs! Lamb Cutlets were delicious and the Porchetta was superb! Fantastic wine list!

Gosh, aren't some people harsh. We dined in this new establishment tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service. We enjoyed 2 cocktails (French Martini and Passionfruit Mojito - both delicious), the waitress recommended a nice Shiraz which we enjoyed immensely, and felt well accommodated by the broad wine and drinks list with on tap beers.

We ordered Pollo Carabonara Pizza (stunning flavour), Beef tenderloin (cooked to perfection), and Moreton Bay Bug and Prawn Ravioli; all presented exceptionally and with great tastes.

The decor has beautiful treatments, great lighting and looks impressive with quality finishes.

I get that the Stonewater team are new, however with encouragement and some time as they establish a smoother operation they will become an impressive fabulous eating spot in the Precinct building at the Mount Pleasant/Applecross border.

As an early patron of stonewater, I encountered a few areas where the restaurant seemed to be facing some challenges. However, I was pleased to see that they sought feedback during their initial stages and responded positively to constructive criticism. Upon revisiting, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the quality of their cuisine had improved dramatically.
The homemade bread, in particular, stood out as a delectable and substantial offering in its own right. The pizza had risen to an impressive level of excellence, while the chicken was nothing short of amazing. To top it all off, the attentive service was a testament to the dedication of the staff.
Stonewater has become a truly outstanding establishment, one that I intend to frequent regularly. The warm and gracious personalities of the people who work their, coupled with the delightful food and cosy atmosphere, make it an experience to be savoured.

Obviously going through teething problems…. Seriously hate to be negative but found it hard to justify price to food content.
We ordered beef carpaccio…. Was hanging out for it…
Soooo…. 4 slices of salami sized beef…no oil…no acid…. We had to ask for salt it was that tasteless with bits of rocket on top…some kind of fennel biscuits, but was also bland & didn’t make sense.it would have improved greatly if a few capers were thrown in.
Main dish didn’t fair any better…
ravioli was thick & under cooked…seafood was good.
Service not so good either…

Absolutly worth giving a try!

Stonewater feels like it's still going through the teething process; the fitout is great and the place feels cozy and inviting, however the service and some aspects of food still need attention. I ordered the pepperonata pizza, which was supposed to have pepperoni, peppers and red onion. When it arrived it looked appealing, but lacked the key ingredient - pepperoni! The pizza consisted only of peppers and red onion. Unsure whether the kitchen had run out of pepperoni or had forgotten - either way, not a taste sensation. The limoncello pannacotta appeared to be neither - it was more or a bavarois than a pannacotta and had no flavour- of limoncello or anything else. Service was friendly but some more attention needs to be paid to staff training; staff sometimes seemed unsure as to 'what happened next', wether to take finished plates, whether to take menus after the order was taken, offering drinks for other tables etc. We hope these issues are ironed out soon - it will be nice to have a 'better-than-casual' place in Applecriss.

Presentation of restaurant is nice but as soon as they brought out the bread out it was a disaster. Bread was not cooked through, doughy and just disgusting.
Got Tommy’s margaritas and they were out of agave so the bar tender improved and tried her best. Still not a great start.
My ravioli was all dough and no filling.
They tried to charge for the bread which came out when we sat down… we didn’t order it. They didn’t mention anything about the bread not being free.
The beef tenderloin was good and cooked how we wanted it which was a positive.
Overall, don’t bother coming here.
