State Theatre Centre reviews
48 Great center for a show or movie. Although walking through northbridge afterwards with a young teenager isn't the best.
It's not exactly family friendly area
Beautiful place, great proximity to the stage, perfect sound and unobstructed views from every seat.
Lovely place to see a concert or ballet. The entrance to the building is light up in white dots, then you ascend a stairway to the main hall. They allow drinks in the hall (or they did for the Sydney ballet event) however the bar is small and it may take a while to get a drink. They also do events in their outdoor courtyard.
Attended the Heath Ledger theatre for my daughters dance, nice comfy theatre with good seating.
Lovely place! Quite busy but it adds to the vibe! Great theatre- well planned and beautifully set.
The staff were so helpful, friendly and enthusiastic!
It was a great experience!
Great venue, the bar had a good choice of beverages, music was great. Loads of space and the ambiance of the lights and mirrors was lovely. I hope it stays the same when the masks/vaccinations etc rulings come in as people are going to want to stay away more which will be very sad as we need music in our lives. We will be back
Always a pleasure to visit and be greeted by the caring staff and see the best of Perth's entertainment.
Beautiful theatre, lovely staff. I would recommend going early if you are in a wheelchair or specific seating requirements. For a newish theatre the chairs are pretty disappointing. If you're above a size 20 it may feel like a long night, especially if you're next to another plus size person. Took about half an hour to get out of the carpark when we left.
Grand daughter here for a dance show.
Fantastic. Only reason 4 stars not 5 due to over priced drinks and food
Went and saw animal farm, a fantastic show. The theatre is well designed with excellent seats and amenities.
I would like to personally thank Dagmar for her amazing and wonderful service throughout this experience. And the manager Kate for enabling prayer facilities for myself and my students. I am teacher from Australian Islamic College and we felt comfortable and safe and well taken care of. The kids loved Animal Farm and the whole experience was truly memorable. Thank you to the State Theater Team
The play was thought provoking, funny and very human, the actor was brilliant. The access to multiple theatres and experiences is great and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Just attended the Perth Circus Festival here with my 3 year old. Three spectacular shows in 2 days. We had a ball. The acts were brilliant - entertaining, inclusive, funny.and the venue is outstanding. Great job. Can't wait for 2022!
Went to Black Swan Theatre Company production of York. It was brilliant. Felt every emotion, so well acted. Loved it. Venue is great.
An excellent establishment at which to watch shows, and plays and other cultural activities. Easily accessible and close to the CBD and Northbridge for pre or post refreshments.
What am amazing venue to perform in, were here during Fringe and it's just an incredible place. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the dressing rooms are clean and just wonderful.
The State Theatre Centre is a beautiful icon situated in the heart of Perth next to the city’s train station. I’ve watched multiple performances in the Heath Ledger auditorium, which were both memorable not only for the incredible work by the theatre company, but also because of the experience I had walking through this building. At night the main entrance is illuminated by lights in the floor, followed by the decadent architecture and interior design inside of the The State Theatre Centre. You can’t forget the bar for pre-performance and intermission either! By far my favourite place to watch theatre performances in Perth and would recommend to watch productions by local theatre company Black Swan State Theatre Company. Their performances at the State Theatre Centre never disappoints!
An unusual method of performing a musical with the audience seated around the actors but loved every minute of it. Feels like your in the musical Oklahoma!
The 91 Storey Tree House in the Heath Ledger Theatre was a great play that I took my Granddaughter to. Most enjoyable.
