St John WA reviews
31Two extremely efficient and caring female ambulance officers. Couldn’t speak more highly of these two ladies. We thank you.
I worked here as a contractor for a couple of weeks. They were friendly, said I was doing very well then told my employers I was no good so I got fired. Nest of vipers. Avoid.
We called SJA approx 3 months ago because my father had fallen and couldn’t walk and hadn’t been to toilet for some hrs. Comment was you contacted us because you need help getting your father to toilet. No we called because he couldn’t walk to toilet. Eventually taken to hospital where he diagnosed with fractured ankle pins and screws inserted as well as steel rod in his fractured arm. Told only call ambulance for emergency. Few hours ago my daughter had to ring SJG middle of night as he had lost feeling to his legs. Told again only ring ambulance for emergency but no fractures take couple panadol and rest for the night. My father is 92 has a full time catheter and is walking fine now with aid of walker. He doesn’t just decide he doesn’t want to walk again same ambulance guy brings up previous visit where they were called out for incontinence doesn’t mention fractured ankle. I’m disgusted with these people who think they are qualified as doctors. My father lives by himself and has full faculties. He doesn’t call the ambulance at a whim and apart from these past two times I don’t think he’s ever called in 50 years. My daughter got told take him to his GP. Well hello how is she supposed to get him in car if his legs don’t work!
Showed up 7 minutes late because I went to the wrong St John place on the same road. Got there and told that I'd missed the class and would have to re-enrol, then told to wait outside. Kelly comes out and tells me that I should go in and apologise to the class. I get in there and find out they've only just started the introductions, I'd missed nothing important at all, nothing related to first aid. And yet I was made to stress over losing $180 because someone wanted to show that they have power over others?
In a course that encourages people to be caring and compassionate to others, Kelly was very cold and unprofessional towards me, either to make a joke or to exercise her power over others.
Just had a course with Andreas, it’s my third time doing a first aid course but this was definitely the best, very informative and funny guy! Wouldn’t have asked for a better session! The man deserves a raise!
Usually great but i wanted my ambulance paperwork so i could try and get it resent so i can take care of it as im on ahm and it was too hard for tgem to resend it to new address! I have liver cirrhosis stage 4 gallbladder needa removing i keep getting infections etc.and just coz i have a few ambulance fees i want to take care of they cant help your supposed to be professional im over the health system at the moment i will die if i keep getting no help and im 31!
Previously i had competed this course many times before, now a 4hr refresher entails you to spend 5hrs at the training centre and 5hrs trying to get the (newly updated) massive online quiz 100% correct.
Fyi, dont be even 1 min late from your earlier than course time arrival as they wont let you in due to temp gun covid test and you will have to pay for a second enrolment plus lose your time.
I personally feel they've gone completely over the top now, we are not training to become paramedics here.
Show up to CPR training, which is a three-hour annual refresher session, get informed that the session was canceled because the trainer has an emergency, I took a day off to fit this renewal training in, it was very inconvenient experience to rebook again, wasted time, money, parking ticket and effort.you expect the head office of St John in Belmont (with many staff all over the place) to be more organized and professional and have somebody on standby in case one of the staff have an emergency, not send you an email half an hour before commencing the training and leave a message on your mobile.not a good experience, will never ever recommend or commence their training again or recommend their merchandise, their course is overpriced and overrated, if you want to do First Aid or CPR do your research before booking, there are many good venues in Belmont, and good ones in Perth CBD …lots of other places with better service, and less expensive training sessions.unfortunately, St John Ambulance establishment is more fixated on money-making poor-quality merchandise and training activities, instead of priding themselves on customer service or quality courses.you would expect their head office to be better equipped and more staffed.bottom line … a waste of space.
Renewed my first aid training here and as always staff were fantastic. Could not recommend them enough. They are very well educated, great trainers and all have fantastic personalities. Full marks to the instructors as always.
Anyone that doesn't know first aid I would highly recommend to get your first aid certificate here.
Excellent trainer and course content. Would be great to be compulsory to be taught in all high schools cross Australia. Thank you SJA
The course was practical, engaging and very relevant. I liked doing the theory before the course so that when we did the practical I could connect the ideas.
First Aid training provided by St John's in Kalbarri recently was absolutely superb, Terri from Gero is a brilliant educator who has the knack of inspiring confidence in a variety of learners to comfortably learn, practice and gain competence in a full range of basic but vital first aid techniques.
Everyone should do this course!
First Aid training is a great and easy skill to acquire so you can confidently manage in an emergency situation with family, friends or the general community. St John's do it the best.
First Aid course covering CPR and Defibrillator Skill, very useful at work or outside work. St John also introduces the new 'first responder' app in smart phone which is very useful, it contains the quick access to dial 000, download-able instructions on multiple first aid skill scenarios, GPS tracker for defibrillator locations nearby, locations of nearby medical centres, and also allows notification of 'first responder' (people who are registered as 'first responder' will be notified if there is emergency within 500 meters, to allow immediate care for injured personnel until the ambulance arrives).
The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and engaging and made the course easy to learn and I strongly believe everyone should do the course.
The practical course was fantastic, the pre learning and quiz need more work as the website is so difficult and outdated to navigate around, make it more app based, keep up with the times.
Having reluctantly done the 2 day course as part of my work requirement MANY years ago, I decided to upgrade and reinforce my First Aid skills for my own benefit as I am now involved with a Medieval Re-enactment Group and figured that with our full contact use of metal weapons it may just come in handy.and it did.the very next day. Thank you Bettina, your excellent tuition proved invaluable less than 24 hours after I received it.
Definitely worth doing a St John course. The easiest way from booking to completion and the most experienced in the business.
I went unsure in about being a first aider and came out with a willingness to volunteer. Knowledge Staff and great practical skills provided.
I have been St Johns first aid qualified since 1972, and recommend everyone keep their skills current, you may never know when you can make a difference, and it may be to one of your loved ones.
