Am planning to start a diploma in construction design which is very relevant to my field as a civil engineer, but the only thing i cant decide on how to travel to Munster, by car it will take 45 minutes and by Train and bus will take above 100 minutes, its way far from my location i wish they transfer those importanl courses to Thornlie or some where a central location where it is accusable to everyone easily. I hope it will be meanable.

Going to this tafe was such as waste of time and money, I don't recomend it to anyone, I will be finishing my course off in a different state.

The lecturers here are absolutely lovely and if I was giving a rating solely on them it would be 5 stars, but the admin staff are absolutely hopeless. The tafe minimum a week to get back to you and 9/10 if they actually ever get back to you its with the wrong information. I have done two courses with them now (decided to give them. Second chance) and needless to say I will not be doing another one hear ever again. If you like dealing with incompetent staff then I highly recommend going here, if not I suggest you stear clear of this place.

One star only! Absolutely piece of S#&t! Some lecturers are really helpful and want to teach, and more importantly they want us to understand. Contrarily, the other part of the lecturers are only there to make MONEY FOR DOING NOTHING AND ACT AS IF THEY WERE DOING SOMETHING IMPORTANT. Seriously, what is the point of paying 7.5k grand to do something that any idiot with a tiny bit of patience could easily do it at home for free. MOREOVER, the organisation of the college as a whole is a total mess, by starting from the illogical timetables which may put a class at 10: 30am at one day and the next day at 10am (What is the matter of making it different?). That is definitely NOT what a serious educational institution should be like. Nobody that I know is happy with it; not even the locals, that pay less then half of the price.
I DO NOT recommend this course/college to anybody unless they want to WASTE a huge amount of money to not be recognized by any company/industry. This institution is NOT preparing students for the workforce, instead they are only making business out of it, specially the Internationals. It is a shame to write this review/complaint but the truth has to be shown. GO TO UNI! Go to Murdoch, ECU or any other and you will become qualified enough.

AN ABSOLUTE THUMBS DOWN!

I am an Advanced Diploma electrical student in my final semester, studying at South Metro TAFE, Munster campus. Nearing the end of my 2 year study course at SM TAFE, lecturers at Munster campus have frequently shown full commitment towards teaching their students as well as expressing positiveness and complimenting students on their work, which is really encouraging. Recent improvements to PLC & SCADA lab is providing a lot of hands-on opportunities for the students and improved the quality of learning. Most of the lecturers, influenced me in their field of expertise. Recently I was honoured to be an active participant in the SkillsWest Expo, representing SM TAFE along with my classmate Carl and lecturers Murali and Osei. I worked with Murali, in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) Smart-Home project for the Expo and it was a fantastic opportunity given to me as a student, recognizing my skills. At the expo, I also got a great opportunity to talk with students, parents, professionals and leaders from various fields. Overall, I am happy with the course delivery and opportunities provided to me.
To improve Munster campus from a student’s perspective, there is a need for a library or common room/building which would contain the required books for the course units. A designated room outside teaching hours would encourage students to utilise its space for after hour studies and projects. A cafeteria like the one in Carlisle campus may be a suitable option to have in Munster campus. Public transport access should be improved with safer access to both adjacent bus stops on Rockingham Rd as well as adding more buses or an additional bus line during the end of teaching hours for students.

The location of the Engineering collage is quite far away from the city.
