South Beach Fish & Chips

I’m a regular. Not any more. This place used to be the best but has lost the plot in the past couple of months. Last month our fish was frozen in the middle. We returned it and the cook blamed the fish. The prawn cutlets used to be real prawns but now they are mystery bags from china.
Sad.

Fish was almost inedible dripping in oil and soggy batter stuck to paper. Literally a dozen chips with a fish and chip meal.

Soggy chips small portions so many fish and chip shops around this one didn't stand out i will not return

Excellent.beautifully cooked fish and proper chips! Delicious! And they do mushy peas and curry sauce! Such great value for money $$$$. I like and ask for the fish lightly battered and cooked as I cant usually eat batter but I devour theirs!

Best Fish and Chips I’v had in a long time. It’s great I can eat here with confidence knowing there is the option of gluten free. Thanks guys!

Came here at 1930 on a Saturday night and drove by and they were open. Walked down after finding parking 4 minutes later and they were closed. Not good for business considering it was still early on a Saturday night. Won't be trying them I guess even if they have a good rating.

These guys make what I consider the perfect chips! I will be back, already have been twice and they were just as good the second time which prompted the review.

I Used to go here all the time when I was a kid. The last time I got food from here the chips were soggy af and it was possibly the most disappointing fish and chips I've ever had: (

Very accommodating with h my son's egg allergy. Friendly staff, quick service and delicious grilled snapper, soft fresh calamari and chips!

Bought 1 grilled fish, 1 battter fish & chips Saturday night. The grilled fish was a wet paste, not local fish. Couldn't eat it. I ate the battered fish and have been in bed since with stomach cramps. I think the owners have changed it was once great, not now

Very cheap but still good! Squid rings were solid, batter on the fish was a little light but some might like it like that. Overall really happy.

Burnt chips. Grilled fish soggy. Unidentifiable pieces of something. Unable to eat it. Needed to buy dinner on the way home.

Chips tasted old and undercooked, potatoes scallops weren’t much better, the fish was nice and not to greasy. The squid was just like the ones you by at a supermarket. It was quick and easy to order

Fish was terrible & poorly cooked. Chips were so average. Not good value at all.

Will not be back & would strongly recommend avoiding.

Pretty good, get lots of chips for cheap, pineapple fritters could have more batter on them, and gravy could have more flavour in it.

Great local fish and chip shop and good value for money! Chips are perfect, nice crunch and shark fillet was fried in a beautiful light crispy batter (not greasy) although fish was a little dry. I think I'll try the snapper next time Service was friendly and efficient and the shop was very clean. You won't be disappointed!

Let's see: two stars for taste, one for location, one for price, one for staff friendliness. Looks like I can do nothing else than giving 5 stars to this great Freo Fish & Chips! I personally recommend the Barramundi.

Had to place a big order for the office beach dinner with short notice, and the staff really knuckled down for us to get it out quick really appreciated the effort

Bought fish n chips here for many years always the best.
Today i had to ring and advise the Englidh owner the whole meal was awful. I should have realised when i first walked in to smell burning oil and shop full of smoke.
Batter was soggy, look the entire Seafood was just awful.
OHHHHH NEW OWNERS I WAS TOLD.
