Solomon Merchants

While staying with my elderly mum for a couple of weeks I was able to bring her to Solomon's twice, her very favourite Albany cafe. I loved that she was greeted with big smiles and made a fuss of, nobody rushed her and they all took time to say hi when she wanted to introduce me. It feels lovely to know that she's treated this way.
Also, as a bonus, the coffee was great and savoury muffins were the bomb!

Frequented this store since it was on Sterling tce.
Great, staff, coffee, and products which I enjoyed weekly.
Owner could use a update on customer service as he would rather argue than recitify a wrong order today.
I will no longer support this business as rude customer service over a scone is not worth my time of day or precense.

I always feel pressured to hurry with my order as whoever takes my order is trying to be one step ahead of me. I'm being asked questions before I've even finished speaking. I try and start with that I'm dining in so that I'm not being rushed to say it. I have also been asked to sit at the shared table instead of an individual one because I was by myself. Not a good look for a local and regular customer.

A wonderful selection of quality fresh herbs and spices, thanks to Solomon's we don't have to go to Perth for fresh spices! The best example is their cloves. They are so full and fresh and flavoursome, so much better quality than where we used to go for spices. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

Friendly and helpful service, great choices of products to cater for all needs. Warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Owner: very unprofessional and quite rude, as soon as we plugged our laptop into the power point which was next the seat, he came to us and in a condescending manner told us that we can't use his power all day! We actually intended to buy some of their beans and local honey but not after the poor choice of words and decided to leave.
There could've been a million other ways to ask politely and to give a reputable service but not treating people that way.

On a positive note the coffee was good.

In response to below comment: you have a fair point but you can't assume that everyone is a backpacker just because they look or sound different! We do apologize for using the power without asking but that never occurred in any of the places we've been while we travel most of Australia. And as I said your approach as a business owner was very wrong, and for the issue you're facing a simple note either on the wall or the table would've been more than enough.
We love supporting local business on our travels however this ruined not only the coffee experience but the whole place in general.

Coffee and cake very nice. I just do not get that now with all the COVID 19 they again have the sugar containers on the tables with a spoon?

Great coffee and an array of herbs, teas, condiments dried fruits, organic and natural foodstuffs to please your home pantry. Very strict with covid protocols in the help yourself fooddtuffs i.e. Gloves and han sanitizerwhich I think is great. It's in a central locale opposite the Australia Post outlet.

Lovely place to sit down or grab a takeaway. I don't drink coffee but have heard from many people that this is the best place to get your coffee. Cakes and slices are delicious too. Well worth visiting.

Solomons is a highly respected place for its reliable wholesales and fairly priced lunch. Not to mention they have delicious coffee.

Great coffee and surroundings, lacking a bit of atmosphere from the staff maybe a bit shy! But still worth a visit and a look around at the natural organic dry goods and foodstuffs on offer.

A place to sit and chat with friends enjoying great coffee. On your way out don't forget to pick up your pantry supplies from the old style grocery corner. Lovely staff and great service.
