1. Booking and Quote
The booking was straight forward. A quick call where the mechanic asked for address, car details, and what work needs to be done. The turnaround time for the quote was very quick (~10mins).
2. Price of repair
The price was cheaper than what I was quoted from other workshops. General service was $30 cheaper, and changes of driving belts were $50 for the pair. This was surprising because mobile mechanics tend to charge more due to having to move their tools to the customer instead of the customer having to drive to the workshop where they may or may not get a replacement car.
3. Follow-up of booking
The mechanic sends a confirmatory text to confirm the details in the booking. He also communicated around 30 mins before he arrived onsite.
4. Timeliness
The mechanic arrived within a reasonable time frame of what he told me (around 10 mins later).
5. Introduction
A very quick introduction and confirmation of the works that need to be done when he met me. I provided him the keys and he went to work. I choose to not watch to continue relaxing in the living room.
6. Repairs
After finishing the repairs, the mechanic gave me a phone call where I met him in the driveway. He was quite through in many aspects of what work he has done by showing me the old parts and the new parts. He also went through on what work need to be done separating them into urgent and non-urgent. My housemate who used to work as a mechanic confirmed later that what he said was true.
One aspect I appreciated is that the mechanic did not push for hard sales. He stated the problems that can be fixed in the future and when I told him that I will think about it, he left it as it is.
7. Payment
The price for the work done did not change from what the mechanic originally quoted. He did not argue for more money because of the unexpected problems he encountered.
8. Overall assessment
I did not find any fault with the mechanic. He is well spoken and professional. He did not push for sales and was very sociable. I am very satisfied with his service.
