Silversands Tavern reviews
42For a quick night out with the family, it was a nice experience which reminded me of my youth doing the same. The bistro had a large selection of food and of course, all the bar type drinks you'd want! Kids ate well, parents ate well and the prices were very reasonable. The only thing that could improve would be the 80s feel to it all. I actually felt like I was a kid again and had gone back in time. It's not a bad thing, but the little room was quite dated but understand during the 'off season' why they only operated the smaller dining room. We would go back and add to our rotation of eateries around Mandurah still.
Porterhouse, chips & slaw with mushroom gravy was amazing. Easy to buy drinks. TAB available.
Came back for a second night in a row - for the ribs. Outstanding! Unfortunately the second visit was ruined by smokers ignoring the designated area outside - which wasn't being enforced by staff. Had smokers on both sides of us while we were eating, so couldn't escape.
Great Beer Garden with lovely greenery, cool shade and relaxed environment to meet up with friends and family for a drink. Not too keen on their food, but if you want standard pub food with few greens you'll be happy.
Great pub. Friendly staff. I have never had a bad meal here. Plenty of outdoor dining areas, or eat in the dining room or at the bar.
Restaurant closes at 8pm so be aware 9f that otherwise great spot for a pint and some good convos
The local. Is one of those places you have to emerge yourself in your environment and the people. You can leave your coins and cash on the table and it will still be there. It's as Australian as it gets and it should be. Much love
Great friendly atmosphere. Cold drinks and value for money meals. Snooker tables and a TAB an added bonus.
A great place to sit and have a meal. Delicious food at good prices. Can eat inside or outside. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Popular for Sunday lunches.
I'm just praying i don't have food poisoning!
We ordered the nachos which was literally doritos with salsa and cheese zapped in the microwave! The chef couldn't even put them under the grill, lazy!
Had both the grilled and fried fish and chips, both were so hard and inedible.
Ordered the "famous" Holstein beef schnitzel covered in mushroom gravy and some sort of clear "cheese" sauce mixed together they resembled a bad night out. Do yourself a favour and just drink here dont eat
Spacious building, lovely staff, great vibes, it's a bit on the old side and could use some renovations but a historic building for Mandurah. They also hire out their Carribbean Room for events such as Birthdays, funeral services to name a couple.
Great food fast, can't go past the 'holly'! Worth a visit for the food alone, which is good as the venue badly needs updating
A really great place for singles, couples, families and dogs! Extremely cool in hot weather either inside in the air conditioning or outside under the pergolas. The food is well priced and fresh and the staff efficient and friendly. I'd opt here for lunch any day over the so called 'first class' restaurants in town
Have always liked the venue as my cousin lives close and have been there on numerous occasions but on 31/12 we went there for tea before we headed to the 9pm fireworks show for my daughter. We got there at about 7: 30pm grabbed a cold beverage outside so the daughter could play with the other kids and proceeded to look at the menu. Once we new what we wanted my wife went to order as we new the kitchen was only open for orders until 8pm when she got there she was told it was too late and it was a couple minutes before 8pm. My wife thought no worries and come back and told us. I then went to the toilet to see people getting service after my wife and approached and asked the question why and was told it was only sweets which I replied to different people which is 2 different orders meaning that was 2 orders allowed after ours. I was then told they would ask the kitchen and the kitchens response was no they were shutting. Very disappointing not being able to get a Kids meal and a couple of steaks and a parmy which wouldn't be much to sort and for people to get orders after us DISGRACEFUL. Hope the venue can sort this out so it doesn't happen to another family and thanks Hans café for accommodating at 9: 30pm
2 stars for the outdoors area and friendly staff. I ordered the Roast Dinner $16 very average.
Called in for quick lunch, very impressed had fish and chips, SO DELICIOUS.and hubby had an average roast beef dinner.garlic bread was delicious and generous.the whole meal plus drinks was $38.very GOOD value.
The wife and I attended the tavern, yesterday for the first time, for a meal and a couple of drinks. I opted for the fish platter.it was OK (only one prawn included!).
We managed to find outdoors seating far enough away from the music amplifiers so as to be able to chat in comfort.maybe by being senior citizens the pub scene is not for us.
Im not a drinker but really enjoy this tavern's lunches.
I like Mondays best where you can choose Silverside served on a huge pile of potato with cabbage and bacon and a wonderful mustard sauce.
There is another surprise, the price - $9.50.
There is an adequate indoor bar to eat in but to sit under the pergola is wonderful where the greenery can be enjoyed.
A perfect place for get togethers and lunches with children. Dogs are allowed in outdoor setting.
Great tavern food the best staff and a very nice atmosphere Owen and Gaven the best great punter Patti and Ron
Good service and a nice old pub, this pub has good facilities and has a massive potential to be more but as it is its fine. I'm a regular visitor to this pub. My favorite meal is the grilled fish and my wife's favorite meal is the pork belly.
