Silverchain - Shark Bay Health Centre

Went to Denham silver chain with agonising back pain. The nurse who looked after me was fantastic she got in touch with a doctor in Geraldton who scyped me and then said I had to be kept very still and needed to go to Perth on the flying doctor plane that day. I can say I have never been treated so well from everyone involved ambo drivers plane crew and all at silver chain Thankyou so much all of you. Keep up the great work.

Amazing service! I had a fall in the street- a local quickly called the ambos. Karen came and was fantastic… even though it was raining (she got very wet but was very cheery the whole time). Took me to the medical centre- passed me into the very capable hands of Claire. A very thorough assessment. Had a video conference assessment by Dr Richard (?) - very professional and thorough. Needed X-rays … Geraldon

Thanks doctors and nurses for diagnosing and helping me with a serious Infection i got while holidaying in Sharkbay. Trish the nurse on duty had to do a double shift to care for me. Also when I was transferred to Charles Gardener hospital the doctors praised shark bay hospital for their quick response in administering the medication that I needed.thank you Shark Bay Hospital.peter rhoades

Great service at Silver Chain medical centre. My toe needed attention and stitches. Dianne was very professional and assisted me with care and attention. I was very lucky that I was in this area to be able to access these services. Such a well run and organised service. A great find for travelling nomads. Denham is lucky to have this service. I am a live aboard yachtie, I had a very nasty painful wound from a dirty filleting fishing knife. We were fortunate enough to get help at Denham instead of Carnarvon. Thank YOU

We were holidaying in Monkey Mia when my daughter took ill on a Saturday morning with high temps. The nurse opened up for us and got hold of a Dr who prescribed oral antibiotics. Later that night, my daughter's condition worsened so the volunteer ambos came and got her. The nurse, had opened the clinic yet again for us, and got a Dr on screen who diagnosed her as needing emergency care at Geraldton Hospital.

Without the Silver Chain centre in Denham, my daughter might not be here today. She ended up spending two nights in Geraldton Hospital with a severe infection in her body - no idea of the cause.

There are only two nurses who work there, and the hours they do are unreal and yet, I never felt I was a nuisance - the opposite in fact. They desperately need more nurses so anyone considering a paid job in a beautiful location, please put your names forward!

Had a very scary night suffering from chronic chest pain whilst staying at Monkey Mia. I was extremely relieved to discover a Silver Chain Health Centre at Denham and was impressed by the thorough investigation and treatment I received whilst there. Karla in particular, was amazing. After tests were conducted and a Telehealth consult conducted, treatment was provided to ensure that I could safely travel to Geraldton Regional Hospital, where further tests revealed I was suffering from pneumonia. I cannot thank the staff at both venues enough, for the high quality care and expertise that they provide.

We cannot speak highly enough about Denham Medical Centre. My wife had collapsed and Martin came in an hour early to assist her. Excellent and very professional care given by Martin, Courtney and the Admin staff. The E Consultation with the Perth Doctor was first class.
After the health issue was successfully sorted, we were stranded in Denham, because our Tour had moved on. Visiting Dietitian, Terri, was EXTREMELY kind and generous and gave us a lift to Geraldton.
Best service from the nicest professionals. Very much appreciated.

Had a terrible tooth ache while travelling near Shark Bay with nowhere to go for help as it was a holiday weekend. Managed to contact the local nurse who met and examined me and was able to assist with temporary treatment. Saved me from 2 days of suffering. A great service for emergency health care. Thanks

When we called we were told that I call was in her pyjamas and would only be assisting if she felt it was urgent, she thought she was unable to help.

Suggested we should get in the car and travel to the nearest hospital - 4 hours away.
Would like to know what she would assist with & really hope there aren’t any emergencies she needs to assist with!

So disappointing. We had a similar experience about calling to make an appointment to see the doctor the next day that if we aren’t registered we wouldn’t be able to be seen.

Today I ended up with fish hook through my finger… and I don’t fish.just helping hubby pack his away. I can only highly praise all the staff at the Shark Bay Silver Chain for their genuine care & professionalism. Thankyou again

Had to have an injury on my foot redressed after injuring it a few days before at Kalbarri national park. The 2 nurses on duty were very pleasant and caring. Had my foot fixed up and redressed in no time at all. These and other nurses in these remote medical centers do an awesome job. People travelling around Australia would be lost without them. Keep up the good work, it is really appreciated.

Stubbed my toe on a rock and lost a toenail way out in the national park. Got to the medical centre just 10 minutes before closing and they were incredibly helpful and nobody even gave me a dirty look for showing up close to closing time. Bandaged me up, showed me how to dress the wound, and gave me a few supplies to do so. The nurse, Dianne, also was amazing. She wasn't just interested in my toe but also my overall well being and we talked about a few other things. Overall, would definitely stub my toe again.
