Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery & Visitor Centre reviews
33 Very nice Vistor Center, the gallery was fantastic, the 3D film about the mutual shooting down of two warships was also very informative.
We received great information about where and how we can continue.thank you very much
A beautiful and modern museum, with an excellent video on the HMAS Sydney and it's battle with the Kormoran. Sadly, my kids are still too young (11 and 9yo) for me to spend the time I wanted reading the information. The centre does offer a lego treasure hunt though, which kept the kids occupied for 20 minutes. It was a nice touch. Would defintely recommend to people who want to learn more about the natural history of Shark Bay.
Loved our visit to the Discovery centre. Tour guides were very knowledgeable and personable. Very informative and interesting.
Amazing place, full of interesting information and artifacts. Shark bay is like no other place on earth
I made a booking online for Didgeridoo Dreaming and the directions/location were incorrect so we were unable to attend. Requested a refund and have not heard a thing.: - (
Very informative with heaps of information about the different parts of Shark Bay and its history. More of a museum really. There's a wonderful 3D movie of the demise of HMAS Sydney 11 that's definitely worth watching.
Worth stopping in to to see their museum as well as the memorial to HMAS Sydney II. The Staff were friendly and helpful a d gave advice on what to see and where to stay
Good range of info available and historic exhibit of HMAS Sydney II and HSK Kormoran in 3D is worth watching.
Staff can be a bit short though
Ok place for information mixed info provided depending on who you talked to. Was advised nothing at Monkey Mia except Dolphin feeding experience BUT there was a cafe/restaurant and bar plus small general store.
A really new building that stands out from the others on the main street. The service was great and there's free WiFi. The staff was really helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. There's also interesting exhibitions on display.
Informative staff. Lovely and friendly with truly great things to see and do in Shark Bay and surrounding areas. Definitely won't be disappointed.
Beautiful place to visit, spend at least 3 days here in Denham to explore all.
Get telstra Sim, GPS system, if possible satellite phone, lots of water while travelling to this place.
A must visit when visiting the Shark Bay area. Fantastic audiovisual displays that show and explain the history and development of the Shark Bay area. The Fire on the Water video/exhibit of the battle between HMAS Sydney II and HSK Kormoran adds another level to the story of Shark Bay’s history. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This is a huge visitor centre and there are some free things to do such as looking at some of the exhibits as well as the free 3D film. There are also great souvenirs and excellent great staff who are willing to answer all your questions and assist in things to do in the area.

The staff here were exceptionally helpful. They offered to look after our two dogs while we browsed this great local history exhibition. The 3D presentation about the HMAS Sydney and German raider, Kormoran was an awesome extra!
Absolutely stunning displays and audio visual, friendly helpful staff. I would recommend the Discovery center as a must see and allow plenty of time.
Shark Bay is one of my favorite places. "Stunning coast, beautiful town with friendly people "was there August 23to 29 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The airport is small but adequate and again friendly helpful staff. It's obvious that they love their work.
Info on the sinking of the Sydney was informative but even after 70 years too many unanswered questions. The whole of the ships company of almost 650 souls were lost. No bodies, no survivors.
You could spend hours here. Some part are free and some parts you need to purchase a ticket for, but well worth the time. It explains heaps about the environment around you, which you then see as you tour around.
Very nice but a bit disappointed with the$11 to see the display thought that was a bit rich
I did get a very nice shirt there
Free 3D film on the HMAS Sydney, $11 entry fee for museum well worth the price. Lots of information about the area and history aplenty.
