Respectful yet very friendly doctor who knows his stuff. Highly recommended

I wouldn’t even give a star if I had the option.
After a consult we were told absolutely no hidden fees ect so went ahead and booked the surgery. After weeks of registering and being off and on the phone to our private health they told us to be 100% no hidden costs. So I then called the grumpy receptionist at dr shakabies office who assured me again, nope nope it’s all covered. A week later I call both private health and the grump again and she still breaks it down and says we will match your private health her words were everything for your surgery is covered. Now we are receiving quotes for a estimated $500+ Depending on how long surgery goes for, possibly more on top of the $500 were already paying. So called the lying grump again who changed her tune fast snappily saying we were “well aware of extra charges”
- her words. Both myself and my partner called her separately where she now says she told us all this from the start. We explained from the get go we don’t want to be any more out of pocket and that’s the only reason we went ahead with it.
I highly recommend looking around.
I will also add from the start of my first phone call to get a book in appointment for a consult the receptionist stoped me half way through talking to say Can I put you on hold to the mutter to her colleague “she just won’t stop talking”
When she did pick up the phone again I made a point of asking if I was taking up too much of her time! Should have stayed away then!
