Seacrest Medical Centre reviews
14My wife rang Seacrest because she just tested positive to Covid and required anti viral medication. She was asked if she had seen any doctor at Seacrest in the last 12 months. She said no but rang today because her regular GP is not available on weekends. She was told in that case no doctor could ring her because they would not get paid! What a shameful set of events. Getting paid for a 5 minute phone call is more important than a person's health and well being. Shame on you Seacrest Medical Centre. Should be renamed Seacrest Money Machine!
This used to be a lovely local practice but it has now become an impersonal, factory-line model of care.
Our family has complex medical needs, we used to be able to get appointments same or next day but now the wait can be up to two weeks. This means we end up in hospital or Urgent Care.
It is very difficult to have a regular GP as the good ones are almost impossible to get into. You don’t receive a continuity of care because you just have to see whoever is available. Even if you do wait 2-3 weeks to see your regular GP they don’t remember you, haven’t read your file and you have to start from the beginning each time.
Doctors are always running late and then are so rushed they make you feel stressed and give you five minutes to cover everything. If you book a long appointment you get the same rushed treatment.
I presented repeatedly to the practice with serious symptoms but my diagnosis was missed. I now have life-long issues because treatment wasn’t started early.
Parking is a nightmare.
On the positive side… there are some great doctors but they aren’t given enough time to do their job properly. Having nurses on site for wound care or immunisations is great. Booking through HotDoc is convenient.
Seacrest Medical Centre used to be one of the best. Now it’s a meat market.
Used to like this practice but they are going down hill fast. Very hard to get in to see any of the decent dr’s, long wait times and dr’s going home when they still have appointments without notifying anyone! Very frustrating.
I'm still alive, despite Seacrest's efforts to kill me. I should have stopped going here after their previous incompetence.
Very disappointed with the service and lack of compassion at Seacrest Medical Centre. The excessive wait times at every appointment I could deal with if the follow up and treatment was worth it, but sadly not.
I was recently referred for a biopsy which was painful and extremely stressful for me and my family. Results were sent to Seacrest and I had no one call me to discuss. When I phone to get the results I was told I needed to book in with the Dr (never available unless booking 2 weeks in advance…and who wants a possible cancer diagnosis hanging over their head that long?). I was told my only other option was to book a teleconsult with another Dr and was reminded over and over it would be charged as a normal visit…for conversation about my own test results? The conversation was so blasé to tell me the results were inconclusive and I needed to come back in and get further tests. Had I not followed up I would have assumed all was ok…but apparently the Drs at Seacrest “don’t have time to follow up with their patients when seeing 40 patients a day”. What a great feeling to be told you’re just a number and no one cares at such a vulnerable time.
Time to find another Dr!
It is a very good medical service, with very good Doctors and nurses. The staff at reception are kind and caring. It has a cosmetic clinic there and a chemist, plus pathology. Next door is a dentist and CliniPath.
Tried to call, long waiting times, was put on hold for 5minutes, call got cancelled, called again and they just hang up on me.
Doctors and admin staff show a lack of care with a consistently long waiting time.booked multiple appointments for a minor condition and they have been unable to provide adequate treatment.
Very disappointing service. Long wait time, rushed out of 4 minute appointment without any clear direction of how to proceed with my issue. Dotcor was stressed and confusing to deal with. Reception was good.
As someone who rarely goes to the Doctor, I guess I do not fit their profit making client profile.
Dr dormer, Dr one, Dr mullen, Dr Neon, Dr Jeffery are really great doctors on the ball care about your health receptionist nice to me
Doctors are satisfactory however the receptionists are not easy to deal with. I requested a copy of my medical records however they refused to release them to me and told me I had to book an appointment with a doctor in order to obtain them. I later learned that this is illegal as my medical records are my property that they MUST provide me with upon request. I've spoken to other patients who have had similar experience to myself and the main reason any of us use Seacrest medical center is because it is nearby.
Unfortunately, I have attended Seacrest Medical Long enough to see how the Reception Staff, treat paying patients, with a nonhelpful attitude, condescending tones, whilst in other cases, such as the one witnessed today, take it upon themselves to provide advice that contradicts Commonwealth Law.
To expand on my experience today, I witnessed a young man politely request his medical records (Specifically the report of a previously diagnosed Medical Scan) and was refused by two staff behind the desk, demanding a full $80 appointment fee to provide him what he had previously paid both the Medical Imaging Company and Seacrest Medical to interpret and diagnose.
To be clear, the advice given opposes Commonwealth and State Law which states:
'A provider may charge a fee for giving access to medical records, but this charge can't be excessive of a Practice Clerk or Assistant reproducing and sending the health information to the individual. '
This has been the second of such incidence I have witnessed in the past two months, and this review is echoed by other reviews made here and other internet medical review forums.
To further highlight the incompetencies of these staff, I repeatedly get sent invoices for services not rendered or have been incorrectly billed, that I have to personally follow up and rectify with the unhelpful staff.
Take away the shortage of available Dr. Appointments in Perth, and I strongly suggest the reception staff alone would cost the Practice a notable sum of Patients.
Today was my last day attending Seacrest Medical Centre, and I encourage all others with the same experience to do so as well.
- An un-happy Patient
Dr ong was lovely and the nurse who did my babies needles was absolutely lovely. The building and parking are great. The only let down was some of the reception staff, some were friendly but the others were not very friendly at all and very abrupt. However the gp and the nurses are more important.
I've been really happy with my service here. Lots of good doctors, and a forgiving cancellation policy.
