Sawyers Valley Tavern

Went here recently to get a few drinks and some dinner and it was a great experience and atmosphere. Not too pricey but great Quality food and even better quality bar staff. Great gem up in the hills 3.9

Having dined at Sawyer’s Valley Pub, I was thoroughly impressed. The remarkable skills of the chef were apparent, demonstrating a passion evident in each dish's quality. It's worth noting the Curry of the Week, which was not just delicious but tantalizingly tender - the epitome of a meal cooked with love. The allure of live music on a Friday night complements the cuisine, substantially enhancing the overall experience. Considering the price point, the food's quality offered unbeatable value - a rare mix of affordability and exceptional quality. An interesting observation was how well my body digested and absorbed the substantial meal, a testament to its quality. A visit to Sawyer's Valley Pub is truly a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

First time visit. I was staying up the road on business. Close for a drink and feed
Small bar. Great service. Saw the sign " under new management". Not sure if it has improved. The locals seemd happy. Quiet early but the numbers slowly built as the afternoon progressed. Reasonable selection of beers on tap. They had a skimpy as well serving.
I had dinner. Tried the special for the day. Curried lamb. Beautiful. Melt in the mouth.
Large screen TVs in all areas including the TAB.

In one word, DISAPPOINTING.
I called to order some food around 7pm but no answer, left a message but no call back. Called 2 more times before deciding to drive down tell them their phone is not working and order over the counter. I get there at 7: 50 and am told the kitchen is closed already (on a FRIDAY NIGHT).
Don't end up like me and do your best to avoid the worst service in the hills.

Staff slow pub is on decline needs a big up grade to toilets
Mind you apparently the Indian food is good haven’t tried yet!
Right people (owners) can make this a gold mine!

The automated 1 star is being very generous. My experience here was beyond horrendous. Not only was the STEVE rude to myself and my 5 companions regarding rules & regulations at the premises, which were inconsistent from our last visit. He was also derogatory to his employees.
This was our main concern. I would not visit again.

Horrible place!
The place is dark and dingy to start with. But I was really wanting some traditional Indian food. So we stayed. BIG Mistake!
Our tables were not cleaned from the night before. The tiolet was dirty and not cleaned from the night before. The rice was NOT cooked fresh it tasted like microwave stuff. Our meal was aweful. I was sick for two days after
This place should be closed down.

Tried eating there.never going there again as owner was rude to our table of 6 but more importantly his staff.
Heard the food is amazing so I really want to at try takeaway but I can't square off his attitude towards us/staff.

Avoid this place. One star is too many. Steve is perhaps the most rude person i have ever met. 6 of us went for a curry for a mates birthday. I went to the bottleo that is between the restaurant and bar for some beers to go with our meal, exactly like i did the last time we went in there, back when it first opened. Steve told me that wasn't allowed so i returned to the table to get a drinks order from the bar. My friend turned up, went to the same bottleo counter tried to order some wine before speaking to the group and was being served when Steve intercepted and actually told his barmaid to 'be quiet' as she was trying to explain the situation. Steve then approached the table and rudely told us 'you cannot buy a 6 pack from the bottle shop' but offered to sell us the same bottles individually via the bar. Not surprised the place was empty and the team looked so miserable.

Tiny portions over priced slow service food isn't fresh used to be a good feed new owners keep driving its waste of money

New owners - 2 months ago- friendly staff, but ordered calamari squid and came with chopped green salad only, and when I asked for a Mocca they did not know what a Mocca was, and they don’t serve coffee!
Also they put us on outside table on main road so it would look like hotel was busy- very Dissapointing

Shocking, 6 of us went to the restaurant. 3 ordered Indian food which took an hour to come out with such small portions. The entree came out 15 minutes after the mains. 2 order steak, which was off! It smelt really bad and one was game to taste and threw it straight out into a tissue. Not recommended at all.

This used to be my local, new owners with over priced beer, $11.50 for mid strength. Won't be back. Very disappointed.

Very easy to decide to never bother walking in the door again. Don't have bar staff and bottle shop attendants that don't speak english

Four of us went for lunch today. Very disappointed to say the list. We all ordered chicken schnitzel All good serves but the chicken was so overcooked & tough we battled to chew through it. Won’t revisit again

Went for lunch for hubby's birthday. Disappointed to say the least. Food was ordinary. Fish was nice chips wete cold & salad was bland. Steak sandwich meat was over cooked dry & cold. Poor barman was serving bar, runn I ng food & doing bottleshop.

Looks like good local staff good didnt see menu so cant comment had tab facilities for those intetested good cleaning

We have been a few times and can not work out why this place is not packed! Great out door area TAB and the food is good serve size and great quality. Get there and check it out.

Poor service food takes a 3/4 of an hour to delivery fish over cooked, shirmp salty, waiters had an attitude.
