Satchmo Café

Not only food is disgusting but decor is like second hand op shop tables chipped plastic chairs from the salvos

First time visiting Satchmo on a sunny Sunday winter’s afternoon. We had the Ruben Sandwich, Louisiana Gumbo and a slice of sweeeet cherry pie. All three were top drawer. Satchmo also serves possibly the best apple juice in the southern hemisphere.
I’ll certainly be returning, with an army of hungry patrons, eager to feed on the Devine creations served in this fine establishment.

Sandwich and Matzo Ball Soup are delicious. Coffee is also good. Love their vintage canteen style fitout! They can get busy on weekends.

Always a smile to greet you, amazing coffee to caffeinate you and delicious food to satisfy you. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience.

Excellent little cafe. The food is unique. The flavours are excellent. Had the Philly cheese steak. It was mildly spicy and not just a glon of cheese with steak, very well done.

I've been a Satchmo advocate for years now - since Nathan was in the old place a few doors down. The food was always delicious and the staff friendly. I also don’t like giving negative reviews, but after frequenting Satchmo almost daily over the Xmas break, I am no longer an advocate.

There are a handful of female staff who have zero customer service skills and exude arrogance. On a daily basis the rudeness we encountered was mind boggling. This was not a once off but the norm. We’re quite happy to have average or below average customer service, but whenever we ordered we felt like peasants asking a king for a slice of bread.

I realise it is hard to find quality staff at the moment, Nathan, but I recommend reviewing how your staff interact with your customers (particularly in your absence – secret shopping perhaps). We will be spending our money elsewhere from now on. Thanks for all the yum food and all the best.

Great coffee and brekky menu. There is parking spot near the café. The sandwich was really tasty! Will defo come back?

Such a cool vibe - feels like you’re in an American diner.

Great coffee (the Batch Brew is one of the best I’ve had in Perth), and the menu is very unique compared to other cafes in Perth with a New York/Jewish style dishes. Food was delicious and large portions (I had the Meatball Hoagie).

Staff were friendly too. Can’t ask for much more

Great service, has moved premises so font get confused! Sadly no longer has my favourite bagel on the menu but good none the less

There is such a relaxing place when you sit outside have your breakfast on Sunday, there has a live band playing the jazz, awesome

New spot, same old delicious Satchmo. Pop in on a Sunday morning for a coffee, stay for the jazz! Have a little sit down dance, eat your cheesecake and enjoy!

Food served tasted really good. Coffee was excellent and love the retro-ness of the place.

Love the new space, feels more spacious and light, appreciate the small touches. Was a bit disappointed that some of my favourite menu items were removed like the Satchmo & Rachel bagels, and the Vegan breakfast!
Look forward to trying more of the new menu though:)

Good vibes but they don’t sell chai, matcha or anything but coffee or juice - feel like most cafes have a lot more of a variety. Service was also slower than most cafes.

Ammmmmmasing breakfast I had, just to make you wonder of the taste: it was eggs on toast with a sweet and sour kale chutney and mushrooms marinated in balsamic glaze!

The Matzo ball soup and the seafood gumbo were delicious! The bagel and horseradish that came on the side were so good, definitely going back for more bagels. Would also definitely get the gumbo again, there was surprisingly actually half a crab and lots of clams in there, and a generous serve of corn bread. The peanut butter milkshake was thick and delicious too! Lactose free milk available.
