Salvos Stores Maylands reviews
29 Judgemental Staff member, as I was leaving the store my partner overheard "She will probably be back tomorrow to steal it" the store member was approached to repeat what was said and replied with "yes, the amount of people we have come through, look around then come back and steal".
Was left feeling distraught and upset how I was judged unfairly.
A wide variety of DVDs available and the quality jewellery selection seemed of good amount too.
Pricing on DVDs in in the moderate to high mark with some older series in a fairer and more appropriate mark.
Their DVD selection somewhat makes up for their prices
Love Maylands salvos. Always a treat whenever i get to visit.not often enough as I'm rarely around this way. Always a great assortment of clothes and a good section of bric a brac.
Ive been to so MANY thrift stores! This one is the closest in my area i probably live a 10 min bus ride and after school i go here and it has good finds but i would recommend going as soon as they open or 10 minutes earlier as i always find the best finds when i do.
I came into your shop earlier today I thought the salvos are Christian in the toy section there was a large black witches hat how disgusting the salvation army has sunk so low please clean up your store from now on I will take photos and put them online!
Best salvo store I've ever been to in WA, friendly helpful staff & such a variety of everything.thankyou will definitely be coming back
Lots of great value preloved goods at very low prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. Handy location with nearby parking and public transport. Great place to pick up a bargain, and it serves a very good cause.
Great Salvos store but access is NOT from Guildford St - parking is available at the rear of the store off Ninth. Usual offerings + furniture. Felt sorry for staff today in a hot space with 40+ temperatures for all of this week.
I bought one of their *new* mattresses 3 months ago for $190 and paid the extra $50 to have it delivered. It is the absolute worst quality mattress, it's hard to see from the photos but there is a row of springs that poke up, there are parts that have caved in, and when sleeping on it, it has slowly sagged to the point that it is completely unusable. I have tried using a mattress topper, but it has not helped.
I went in today to get a refund, and had an absolutely terrible experience. While the other two staff were very friendly, the manager was rude and aggressive from the start. She told me that I should have known it was a poor quality mattress when I bought it, it was my fault for buying it, and she said I should have expected this. When I mentioned it had sagged over time, hence why it has taken me 3 months since purchase, she said it wasn't her responsibility for "how I've used it", I think implying it was my fault for sleeping on it wrong? I understand it is a cheap mattress and didn't expect it to amazing, but at this stage it is unusable as a mattress. It is a mattress, as a bare minimum I should be able to sleep on it.
I tried to explain to her my consumer rights (in the photo, from the ACCC website), which says if a new product has a major flaw, I am entitled to a refund. She was acting as thought the store policy supersedes the law, which says no returns after 7 days, end of story. For a brand new mattress, this is definitely not legal. The kicker is, I came home to find the mattress has a 12 month warranty.
After unsuccessfully talking to the manager, she went to go talk to her supervisor, and made me wait 30 minutes. I'm not sure if it was just because she didn't want to deal with me, I ended up just going home and crying. This has just been a horrible experience, obviously don't recommend buying mattresses there.
Slightly on the expensive side but a good range of well-organised goods! Especially good for shoes, crockery and denim.
This salvos is not charity it is a business making many of don't recommend Mayland salvos to anyone.very bad service.
Some clothe racks are overstuffed, making it awkward to view items. Very friendly service. Good lighting in most areas.
Love this store!
I wish the phone service was a little better, but the organisation and in store service can't be beat!
It was a very nice experience we brought two lovely stools for $40.very happy with the price thanks salvos. Regards Michael
I visited the Maylands store on Monday and immediately as I entered i was greeted by a lovely volunteer with a great big smile who informed me of that day’s specials. I was able to pick up quite a lot of items off the $2 rack and a few other bargains. I left $48 poorer but had a pleasant experience and will definitely keep coming back. Great customer service given
The jewelry can be ridiculously over priced be Careful with silver jewelry as a lot do not have the silver hallmark someone that works there is not checking the jewelry properly you can buy cheaper jewelry from the jewelry stores so please be careful!
They have had a move around since my last visit, a change is as good as a holiday, didn't find any thing on my shopping g list
Dropped two bags of clothes. One in behalf of Mumma's Hostel and one that represented my past. Hoping they will help others to feel better and warmer.
I still remember when I walked into the Salvation Army in Windsor, Melbourne. I was nineteen. I had quite some fun trying different clothes on and I walked out with clothes which I still have today, 4 years later. Salvos helped me as a traveler, thanks.
An impressive clothing range with so many great finds to be had. Furniture/homeware section also.
Great shopping experience if you love op shops thank you to all the lovely volunteers god bless.
