Ruah Community Services reviews
9 When the RUAH turned up half a year ago, they said they provide assistance with accommodation, job search, financial relief and some psychological support.
However, they failed to find accommodation for our family of six. Our conversations looked liked this
- Could you recharge my phone account so that I could call and call potential employers back?
- We do not provide this service.
Could you pay for internet this time so that I could look for a job?
- We do not provide this service.
- I have to attend an interview. My SmartRider ticket is discharged. Could you give me a lift by the address?
- We do not provide this service.
- Could you give us some food next week?
- You were told that it was one-off food bank.
- Could you assist us financially while we are getting by?
- We can assist you financially when you become able to support your family by yourself.
- So, finally, what can you do for us?
- We can pay $2000 bond if you manage to find accommodation and present paysips at least for three months, which indicate that you are able to pay your rent.
When I found accommodation and a job, they said they don't work in that area and went up in smoke.
Sometimes, when they visited us, they asked my wife very persistently whether I abused her.
So, they come up with empty promises to help in order to sneak in a family. Their budgets are great I must say. "We can support you financially only when you can support yourself financially" - brings out their intellectual abilities.
Katie and the team at RUAH have been so amazing and supportive. Me and my 5 children were homeless for 9 months. We've had covid and moved so many times. Knowing I had their support and encouragement helped me when I was at my lowest. They get the challenges and are ready to actually do the walk with you.
I couldn't be more grateful for my time with Ruah. My support workers listened so intently, really showed they cared. For people with little to no family support, people like my support workers really make the world of difference. Ruah are very inclusive and it felt safe going to an lgbtqia+ friendly service. They really took the time to help me with anything they could and their support is individually catered to your needs. I found them so respectful.
They provided more care and support than I have recieved in 10 years of the public/private mental health care system.
I'm in the best place I've been in years and am confident to continue my progress.
Thankyou so much Sue and Rae
Rude, disrespectful and money-hungry. You would need to be in a very poor state to use the mental health department of this company. Run, dont6walk away.
I use to work with a lady name Angeline Hazbroark she the one who work with Ruah and now I just wondering if I still with Ruah
Ruah have been so fantastic to work with. My brother needed support with his mental health recovery and they worked along side our family to ensure we were all on the same page. I would highly recommend Ruah to anyone who is looking for a support service who care about their clients and their families!
The WRAP program by Ruah is one of the best things i have ever done. I learnt some great tools that help me manage my wellbeing!
If your not a woman or from an ethnic backgroud this service isn't for you, dont know how they get the lions share of funding
No one calls you back
I'm a single parent and have left 3 messages for help with a promise of a call back
