I have been at hospitals in the United States and here in Australia the hospitals have to be the best i have been in. I have been treated so good here by everyone. I would definitely recommend this wonderful hospital to everyone i know. ED and H6 topnotch.

4 hours wait in the Rapid Assessment and Decision Area; someone ask their own definition of Rapid?

I want to thank the Emergency Department Dr Poppy when my Dad was brought in after collapsing at home on the 10th of November. He was then transferred to ICU and looked after by Dr Peter. We can’t thank all the nurses and doctors enough! Your kindness and care were outstanding. You always kept us up to date and had time to explain Dad’s situation.

I can't thank the staff enough. Our time at RPH was outstanding care. The nurses do amazing job. These people who work in our hospitals are angels. I understand our health care system has its hiccups. But with put there care my son would not be in the great care he us today

I was recently admitted for an appendectomy at Royal Perth Hostpital. I got to triage at 10PM on a Monday (Not what anyone wants) and the reality of my next couple days hadn’t had time to sink in.

Of course, having a positive experience at a hospital is simply unrealistic, and you need to understand that the staff are working as hard as they can (at all times of the day/night) but you will need to sit and wait and be as patient as you can, this is life.

After waiting in Triage, my blood was taken to test for signs and symptoms, the care and communication I received was more than I could’ve ever asked for.

To be honest, the entire process since that moment was nothing but kind, communicative professionalism.

I ended up staying for 2 nights as I had my appendix removed and recovered from the surgery. There wasn’t a single moment I felt uncomfortable or worried, the staff ensured my cares, concerns and understandings were all met and maintained.

Although I don’t remember the operation, the team that I met briefly before made me a lot more comfortable to be unconscious and having parts removed.

In reflection, there was no way I would have even thought that I could have that positive of an experience in such a negative situation, which is why I believe this hospital needed a review to reflect that. Not to mention that the Australian healthcare covered all of the costs and I didn’t have to pay a cent.

So to the team at Royal Perth, Thank you for your time and professionalism, it truly made my journey a memorable one in all the right ways.

I was hit by a car on Wednesday whilst riding my scooter home from TAFE and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency by ambulance.

I want to thank all the paramedics, nurses and doctors who looked after me and did every possible test to make sure my bones and internal organs were not affected by the collision. I stayed there from 5 p.m. Until 2 a.m. The next day and was discharged after confirmation. I only had muscle injuries and was able to return home safely.

Thank you so much for all the support and kidness

Had my fractured foot attended to here which I felt was taken good care of during the short hospital stay. Four months later, I am still in pain and still unable to walk without two crutches. I'm getting to the point of cabin fever now but see my physio at Bentley. The last med prac at RPH trauma that I saw, just looked at me as if I was a hypochondriac when I told him that I literally cannot walk due to pain. He gave me a script for Tramadol which made absolutely no difference in managing the pain; in fact the meds just turned me into an angry person The My Health record x-rays state that it's my left foot when it is actually my right foot! Take note that there may be data entry inaccuracies in records, which can lead to other problems in the future. Check that your personal information is correct, unless of course you don't really care which is ok I guess too if you wanna not be a part of their system. Just recently, I have noticed that my dad's medical information is included in my medical history via my GP - I am an adult, a seperate entity.and we don't go to the same medical practice? The only door left open here for such a mistake is R Perth Hospital which he had attended for the correlating information which is found in MY medical records. Someone mentioned Medical Negligence or just continue to be slapped by the revolving doors of what this world has become.not long to go now.

I recently had such a good stay at Royal Perth. The nurses are so incredibly amazing. I was in the neurology ward and was treated so well by Tash, Libby and student nurse Riley. Such amazing staff there. Also not much of a wait time in the ED, which was amazing!

The vascular clinic here is no good and the specialists-i use that term lightly… are incompetent and not helpful at all. I was sent for an ultrasound, who ever referred me did not write it down properly so only half of it was done. Had my appointment and was told I would need another and that they would send a new referral. Also had to have bloods taken on the day. I waited weeks for the referral, called three times and nothing. Finally on the fourth attempt I was told I would have an appointment over the phone Friday. Friday rolls around, another “specialist” calls me and tells me I can’t have the surgery because I don’t have an ulcer from my veins. Told me they are problematic and leaky but I basically have to live with it because there’s no ulcer. Our health care system has gone so far down the drain…this is exactly how the government are starting to privatise healthcare. By slowly cutting back on what is and isn’t allowed. Aside from that, I’m not happy that I was put through all the unnecessary tests if they weren’t going to approve the surgery anyway! Wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone.

The staff are rude and disgusting, didn’t listen to anything I said just. Came out worse then before I went in and still no answers or follow up, complained to clinic nurse and senior staff and drs…. What a waste of time just swept under the rug!

Super rude woman’s nurse, teach them how to be treated a patient with respect not with disrespectful. I found the doctors are super, they are very respectful and very helpful.

Unfortunately I am still waiting to get my 6th finger on my right hand removed. Found this review very easy to type. Not cool.

By far the worst hospital I've ever had the displeasure of attending. Many of the staff, including doctors nurses and addminstrative staff as well as staff at the cafe and front reception, have been rude or dismissive, or even lied directly to me, and communication from staff to patient is terrible, as well as communication between staff. On top of this the hospital and wards especially are not kept clean. Overall care has been very lacking. If you ever have the option to choose, I highly recommend you choose another hospital.

Subpar hospital experience. For the second time in a row i come back for an appointment and have to wait for 5-6 HOURS before getting anyone to call my name. First time they had lost my file and brushed me off 3 times as I enquired about the long wait. They only admitted their mistake when no doctors were left and I was the only one sitting in the waiting room

Only if I could place a score of zero star, one of the worst hospitals ever! My dad has various underlying diseases like diabetes, heart and kidney problems etc. Just came to Perth for a holiday and my dad began to encounter sudden puking multiple times, loss of balance and strength when standing/walking. He was already so dehydrated and could have been hypo. Waited for a few hours and yet no nurses attended to him, let alone doctors. When he vomited again, the nurses just assumed that he was fine and asked us not to worry.

After hours of waiting, we decided to move him to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital ED. With far more patients than the ED in Royal Perth, it took them a much shorter time to attend to my dad.

My dad is still recuperating at the hospital after two long nights. Apparently, he has hypotension which could lead to more deadly complications (he is diabetes btw).
He had to get blood transfusion and multiple bags of iv drips and medications.

I wouldn’t dare imagine if we chose to let him wait at the Royal Perth ED. For Malaysia standards, this Royal Perth hospital’s ED is definitely not fit to operate. To everyone out there, if there is an emergency, please do not go to this RP hospital.

Greg from Malaysia

P. S. Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is one of the best I have ever been to and the care given by the doctors and nurses is tip top!

I was suffering from chest pain cause of Covid and once arriving to the ED I received an excellent treatment from all the staff. They did all the checkups with professionalism and care. Then I was discharged after making sure I’m fine & can go home. Many thanks to all the staff:)

I would like to express my impressions as a patient at the Royal Perth Hospital. The large number of specialists who took excellent care of me is unthinkable in Germany. The friendly relaxed and compassionate nursing staff did me so good. In Germany, everyone is under stress and time constraints, and not just in the clinic. Everything has to happen quickly. Human concerns cannot play a role. The four Dresden emergency rooms turned me down even with suicidal pain from a urinary tract infection because I didn't have a fever. The food at the Royal Perth hospital was very good and sufficient. Unpredictable medical crisis situations can hardly occur in your hospital because your ongoing controls are so good. Many thanks and great praise to the human and professional highly professional staff.

With grateful regards!
