Rockingham Beach Fish and Chips

So very disapointed today.
I have been going there since its onset in 1988 and today was disgusting, not only the wrong order taken but the lack of even wanting to rectify to almost the point of refusal not only by the serving staff but belive it or not also the manager.
Pretty much beyond belief. The wait time for the reluctant rectification was over 30 mins, with poor replacement.
They will not get my buisiness again.
Poor form.

Very busy shop right on the rockingham foreshore. Their menu caters a wide variety. Dine in options available but you can just sit on the lush grass of the park and enjoy your food with a spectacular view of the ocean.

Best fish and chips.loved the chips was busy but was served pretty quickly and the young girl behind the counter was very friendly and polite.oh did I say how yum the chips where? And no I'm not a seagull!

Well was hoping to be the exception to the rule with the other reviews but…. The wait wasn’t too bad 20 mins but the food was awful. Everything was so oily and disgusting. Hardly any chips for what was supposed to be for 2 people. Not worth the price at all.

Was no one in the line, really quiet, but wouldn't do a gluten free batter. Wouldn't serve just chips either due to chip shortage, so had to buy fish with gluten for my son so he could eat something. Why advertise as having a gluten free batter, then refuse to serve? If it was busy, maybe I'd get it, but it was virtually empty. Small as heck portion too, and a 10% surcharge which I would not care about, if we had received a normal sized portion. Will not return anymore as this is becoming the norm here. This WAS my fave local for 6 yrs. Guess this is why you're no longer getting the best Rockingham fish n chip shop award these last few years.

Terrible experience today. The girl serving was ignorant towards your customers, you could tell she didn't want to be there. Ordered our food to take away with a bread roll with butter.

Arrived to our destination to find that the bread roll was covered in mould spots, the fish was stone cold in the middle (definitely not cooked to temperature as everything else in my pack was piping hot), the quality of the food was poor for the amount of money we spent. We were too far away to come back to return our orders or we would have.

Very disappointed after hearing such good things about this place.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.thought I'd give this place a go and will never be back. 7 dollars for chips got enough for one person (have a family of 6). They were discusting and full of grease. Customer service was appalling.squid rings were not fresh and the gravy was sludge.very dissapointing.

Not value for money any longer. Got their 2nd largest amount for chips and it was a tiny amount, under cooked and no salt despite asking. Rude customer service and the place is dirty and run down. Won't be returning any longer. Too many bad experiences the past year with quality getting worse.

Ordered the $14 snapper and chips.
Chips and fish were decent but nothing special.

Unfortunately it was the smallest piece of fish I've EVER been served. Smaller than the size of a phone. Pretty dissapointing. At least there were plenty of chips.

I am a regular for 4 years. The last time I was there was in early Oct 2022. Today, I order my usual but I notice it is far from the usual standard. It is the first time in 4 years where it didn't measure up. I hope it is just an off day.

Sorry but the fish had too much batter and the chips were tasteless. So many better fish and chips places.

Waited 53 minutes for an order for 9 people. Orders were NOT done in order and when i questioned why we had to wait so long I was told it was a large order which makes absolutely NO sense as they had to cook it at some stage so why not in order. Rude staff and completely incompetent of serving so many orders and they charged a 10% surcharge which I wouldn't mind if I had got my order in a timely manner.

Great fish and chips- crisp and not greasy. Also, generous serves of fish!

Mid Week, close to Christmas, There from 11am to 8pm, uninterrupted, Plenty of space to set up for the day. Great day had by all

New ownership is absolutely dreadful. Got $8 worth of chips…. Got a handful, the new ‘squid rings’ has come straight out of a packet. Wont be returning

When you order food at a fish 'n' chips store it's mean't to be fresh especially the squid rings, fish etc so getting our order - especially after waiting 45 minutes, the salt & pepper squid - it was definitely out of a frozen packet you can buy at any store in Australia, which the store manager actually admitted too.

When approaching the counter, the manager was extremely insulting rude and disrespectful.
We simply showed him our order & said sorry we can not eat the squid please can you make something else or refund us. $12.90
You can tell it wasn't fresh!

He grabbed the squid on the paper, scrunched it up infront of us, threw it quite forcefully into the bin nearby, waved his hands in the air saying seafood is still FRESH even if its frozen!

We obviously said NO IT'S NOT, to which he said whatever just go!

Infront of other customers, he then apologised to everyone else but left us without a meal to replace it or even a refund.

We dared not mention the Small Snapper which we paid $8.90 for looked ridiculous for the price and soggy. It was almost a kids serve it was that small.

I'll never recommend this fish n chips store to anyone.
Absolutely disgusting disappointing service, all we wanted was something else but NO we were left with NOTHING and out of pocket.

At least the gentleman and lady outside said you shouldn't go inside that store they serve awful food.
Wish we'd heard this before we went inside.

If you want real English fish and chips, with mushy peas and curry sauce, this is THE place to go in Perth. Been here plenty of times and never been disappointed. Get here before the rush though, they get really busy!

Top class manager. Some real good tactics on and off the pitch. Really pushing the team for them three points. Honestly and amazing performance from the lad up front, brilliant at receiving those through balls from new signings back field. Really pushing for the league title

Two days in a row the order took over 30 mins. First night I accept it was a little busy but the following lunch time wasn’t. (I wouldn’t have returned the second time if it wasn’t out of necessity) On the second occasion instead of waiting in the street for 30 minutes I tried to order ahead on the phone only to find it engaged continually. I eventually got through and told it would be 30 mins for the kids meal of 4 nuggets and chips.
There is nothing fast about this place and it will be the last time I’m a customer, the wait definitely ain’t not worth the food you get. In 2022 you would expect quicker orders at a fish and chip shop, restaurants are faster. Employ more staff or improve efficiencies as it’s really bad at the moment.
