Riwayat Restaurant

Everything was good apart from the lamb karahi. It tasted like anchovy/ fish. The waiter did not care. I hate fish and all i could taste in the lamb dish was salty fish. Awful. The rice was good and so was the skewers but i won't be going back in case it tastes like fish.

Wish I could give them zero start. Awful taste. Curries were loaded with oil/butter. No taste. Only were tasting oil. Very disappointing. Wasted my money. Wish I have went somewhere actual INDIAN restaurant rather then here.

I drive past Riwayat everday to work, and finally decided to try it after a patient recommended the restaurant.
Easy 5/5, everything we had was good. Not a single complaint from us. Quick, friendly service, food tastes amazing, and plenty of parking out back.
Definitely recommended (sorry no photos, we were too hungry and it smelled too good.)

The team was very customer oriented and the food was served very quickly.
We tried roghni naan with mutton karahi which was perfect like home food with accurate amount of oil and spices. Nothing was overpowering. We also tried entreè platter which was also fresh and tasty. Last we tried kheer was nice too.
Overall a good place to visit and enjoy a good food with reasonable quantity sizes.

We have been regulars to this place since last 2 years after moving to Perth.
If you love a nice bread (read: Naan / Roti) this place would do it for you!
Personally speaking bread making takes years to master and they have just aced it! Beautiful crisp flavorful bread with yeast doing the magic.can probably write an exclusive review for their breads.
Would highly recommend their Biryani, Daal & Chicken dishes as well. Not spicy or loaded with saturated fat infact within reason this meal would go down rather well if you don't get swayed with the brilliance of their breads! They tend you use whole spices which gives delicate flavors to their dishes which takes it to a new level.

Place is BYO and the owner is extremely warm and hospitable. I would suggest ordering in advance as they can get really busy after 9 on the weekends.

Only think they can probably work on is add a bit more variety in their starters/ appetizer menu.

By far the best Chiken Kadahi and Chicken tikka botti we have had in Perth. They should open more restaurents and surely one on North. Keep up the great work.

Took my 2 friends to this place tonight and it was their first time. We ordered Chicken Makhani (Pakistani style Butter Chicken), Palak Gosht (Spinach with meat), Biryani and Lamb Karahi with Roghni Naans (Bread). Although every item was flavourful and made fresh, Chicken Makhani and Palak Gosht were the best they've ever had. Riwayat never disappoints!

We got recommended this place so we drove from Cannington to check it out.
Highly recommended! It’s so tasty and the boss (I think) his customer service is 10/10 asking how we are and if we need anything.

Yes there is a waiting time but that is due to it being fresh.

We got told there was a lengthy wait on our order. An hour later, after watching new patrons get delivered their orders, we asked on our order. To be told, they had forgotten our order and asked us to reorder. Didn't even notice us sitting there with no drinks for an hour

The food here was fantastic! The best I’ve had in Perth in a long time. Sure, the service has its flaws but it is not on account of not trying. The staff and host made every attempt to meet all our requests. The chef was also kind enough to check in. Standout dishes: Butter Chicken and Mutton Karahi. I will definitely return

Really tasty, great atmosphere. The staff came and checked to see we liked the food several times and made us feel at home. We had our baby with us so it's very child and kid friendly family restaurant. We went with friends and enjoyed the food so much. My favourite was the butter chicken and the tandoori chicken starter.

Really good food and everything is made fresh so there is usually a bit of a wait but that is completely worth it.

The food is absolutely yummy but the wait time was exhausting. 1 hour 15 minutes for our oder to be served

What the real folk is this restaurant? Never going there or recommending anyone to go there. I had order @9.15 and then wait…wait…. Wait… I literally walked out after 10: 30 hungry. The guy who took down the order orally and didn’t write it down anywhere I am not sure had he given it to chef or not? Even if your food is good (some review claims to be) at least give good service. I can’t tell you how much angry frustrated and disappointed I am. And you thank god that when I was walking out no one stopped me because if they had spewed a single word out of their filming mouth after making me wait for more than 1.5 hour I would have sweared so bad that your ears would have literally bleed. Literally pathetic and disgusting.

Chicken Karhai and Lamb karhai were great, fresh naan. Good serving size and naans were nice size. The taste is authentic, thank you

I placed an order for takeaway i was told it will take 45 min i went there in 45 min to pick up the order.reception lady td me its almost ready but i had to wait another 20 min.
Overall food was ok
