7 Very disappointing I am a good steady customer going to applecross hoping to get some good meat
Last wednesday I did ask for mince
She said no the mincer is not functioning
I did ask for chicken drumsticks she said no
But you can have some thigh on the bone!
When I got home the chicken was not fresh and very bony
Too late for me to take back as I live 20kms away from applecross
Also about mincing meat it is a butcher job to mince some piece of meat of your choice and mince it freshly without nitrates
Will never go to that butcher again
As coles claremont offer a better service cutting meat and mince freshly
Have started coming here for bits and pieces last month. Always great service and products. LOVE their Roast beef.
Margaret River Eye Fillet. To Die for!
Had the de-boned leg of lamb absolutely beautiful.
Excellent service from the people behind the counter. There's a selection of beautiful fresh steaks as well as a freezer full of those less-popular items. Today, I walked in and managed to get a bag of marrow-rich bones for a good broth. On previous visits, I've purchased beef cheeks and lamb shanks. Just tell them what you're cooking and they will produce the goods (!). If there are less common meats/cuts you're after, call ahead to check they have them in the shop. They always tell me if they don't have it, they can order in.

Tried the Margaret River Eye Fillet tonight. To Die for!
I have just returned from this butchers after buying some diced lamb shoulder to make a stew. Instead of being bight sized cubes of meat it is a mish mash of rubbish offcuts most so thin or small they curled in the pan.
I stopped using them on a regular basis about 4 years ago after buying five sirloin steaks and finding the last one (hidden) was just good for stir fry. On this occasion it was the boss who served me. Recently I have returned to them on an occasional basis but this is the last time.
Reids butchers need to concentrate on the quality of their product rather than letting nothing go to waste.
