Will not honor warranty. Took over 2 years to rebuild my engine, then it lasts 1500kms. Wouldn't take a pushbike to them.

David is very knowledgeable and thorough. I had some tricky issues with my vehicle that tested my patience. I was referred to RPW and David worked hard to find a solution. The car I got back was better than ever. I had my car serviced there for seven years until I recently sold it.

Great little company this is, especially for the 4g93 sohc's. Such a great store, literally a one stop shop which is amazing when you consider its just an economy lancer and there's so much out there for it. The quality of their products is pretty damn good personally. I've bought a cam, ud pulley, adjustable cam gear among a few other things and they've all been super high quality, plus its an aussie business so ill support them any day over anyone else. Keep up the great work! I keep getting my mates to check out the store and convince them to use you guys as their number 1 option and they end up very happy too.

Been dealing with David for a while through my work. Always super helpful, happy to share knowledge and assist with any technical problems I've had. Thanks!

Got messed around trying to place an order for nearly two months. The online website only provided me with a pick up option for my order, but this was apparently "resolved" when I contacted RPW. I was later told after contacting them again that the order had not been changed two months later and that I would need to wait another two months. My order was then cancelled four days after they sent the update on my order, after it took them two weeks to respond to my email. I was more than happy to wait, but it seems David was not.

I also did in fact reply to the colour choice RPW offered, and have the emails to prove it.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY! After 6 months of conversations on and off with co owner David I booked my 4wd in for various work. I was quoted $3500 to $4000 absolute maximum price. I was told vehicle would be ready on 3 to 4 days which I thought was ambitious. 2 and a half weeks later I was finally told vehicle was ready to pick up after they put a screw driver through my air con condenser and had to replace the whole unit. (This was an accident on their behalf and was not part of the original works). When I arrived i was handed a bill for $5300 with no prior phone call or indication that the bill would be more than quoted. After trying to meet them half way eith the bill and being denied I reluctantly tried to pick up the car. The front wheel guards where missing clips and loose. There where bolts missing from my new bull bar and they had not even wired up the winch. Cables were hanging loose in engine bay. Tried to start the vehicle and it would not start. I was fuming. They told me it was a starter motor and quoted another $700 the next day to fix. I did not trust them and had another mechanic replace the starter. Later on I found out there was nothing wrong with the starter motor and id paid another $600 for nothing. In addition further issue were found on the vehicle before it was finally up and running. Do your research. Read the reviews on RPW! Go to a reputable dyno tuner/mechanic and be willing to pay the extra from the start. You get what you pay for! I've had nothing but poor workmanship, lies and over charging from RPW. After my experience I've spoken to various other workshops about my experience. 2 of those had heard of David at RPW and his disgraceful business tactics. So much more to this story but don't have any more energy to waste on these people.

Dealing with this company is the last thing you should do, the acting director is incompetent and quality of workmanship is low. So called specialists with speciality in only deception, I wouldn't even trust them to change the oil and filter on your vehicle, just take it elsewhere.

I went to this shop to ask about getting my Holden Dyno tuned.instead of just saying yep I can do it just to take my business.he put me on to a specialist Holden guy. I have total respect for people who are genuine. Cheers mate.

A very informative and educated team. I have struggled to find the direction I have required to bring my GWM V240 to life. These guys have done heaps of homework and science. They have got some great ideas and packages to bring the best out of my bomb. I am in Sydney which is no problem for them. They are over the other side of the country but more than happy to help. A pleasure to deal with and highly educated in all aspects of 4x4 performance. Cheers

Found them rude and after returning the parts as they were not as advertised. It took numerous calls and over a week for them to process the refund

I have nothing but good things to say about RPW, I contacted them a few months back thinking my MK triton wasn’t able to be re mapped because of its age, RPW made sure it was possible to tune my vehicle with a quick check and shortly after it was booked into their workshop, when I took my triton for the first run it was amazing, love it! Drives well and has good grunt on the tracks which is exactly what I wanted, months later it still drives great no change and still stoked!

I’ve since contacted them about general questions about my vehicle and RPW are always happy to help, great blokes and quality work, I was that happy with their work to the point where I’m happy to send my triton back to them to fit other mods, legends! Thanks heaps guys!

Don't trust Acting Director Thomas to do the right thing by you. Even if you do everything yourself, possibly obtaining a signed written quote, asking all the right questions yourself (near impossible) as you won't be prompted or helped by him in regards to information on workshop hours the job is going to take or anything else in regards to the money the job will eventually cost. You may then find yourself in the Magistrates Court trying to keep your name clear and to get your vehicle released by him, not a very pleasant place to be at all. Don't expect any mercy from Racing Performance Works.

I'm deeply ashamed I fell into his trap and sincerely wish no one has to go though the nightmare I have been living for the past two months. I am so relieved my car was towed out of there on Wednesday. I can't complain about the staff as they have done nothing wrong to me, it's not their fault, it's their boss's dubious business practices that are the problem. Don't make any assumptions or mistakes, you will be taken advantage of.

After the mediation he had the cheek to ask me to shake his hand and say No hard feelings, "I bear you no Ill will or animosity" or some such. Easy for him to say!

If you'd like be at David's mercy he will be waiting for you in his office doing some 'business' deals and writing some more exaggerations and half truths on forums, websites and advertisements.

Hi David,

Thank you for your usual glib reply.

For a start David who is 'we' referring too? You are the ultimate boss of a small two mechanic garage where the other people working there are your employees. You are solely responsible for all business transactions with customers at your business. Does using 'we' in all correspondence make you feel more powerful or less culpable somehow?

As for the conference at the court I foolishly gave in after half an hour of discussions, where the registrar pointed out if we went to trial we could have been waiting there all day or most probably another date to be determined losing you time away from your business. I had already paid $2000 a month before the court date and in the spirit of détente I offered to pay $780 actually more than billed for the fuel tank clean and parts but you rejected that out of hand only offering to waive the court fee of $140 finally after some more arm wringing you offered $200 off a $3450 odd bill as an incentive to avoid the trial. I asked for $250 off instead as a compromise and after five more minutes of umming and arrrahing you agreed. So don't come with this holier than thou attitude.

So far I've paid $3200 to have an engine swapped in a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer where I supplied the replacement engine, timing belt, water pump, cv and steering rack boots, oil, ATX fluid, oil filter and front struts and a fuel pump. Maybe you could have been a bit more specific than $1000 which would seem to indicate 8 hours labor to just install the engine when your final figure was 23 hours labor all up. To have indicated this somewhat from the start would have saved a whole lot of trouble to you and me just to end up with a car that will sit in the garage as it still doesn't go.

As for 'helping me' not to have a record of bad debt, gee thank you David. However it seems more like some sort of bribe now, so as I would not speak about the process publicly and to try to make me feel inferior by your patronizing self during the conference like you were in charge of proceedings.

After this I don't have the confidence to take the car anywhere now as there doesn't seem to be any consumer protections for automotive work here in WA other than going to a small claims case which doesn't seem to satisfy anyone.

Poor quality materials,
Beware of ceramic coated components as they will state stainless when clearly mild steel.
Just reselling china parts as their own.
Poor customer service

Had my High Performance Hilux treated to a major service RPW recently. Communication on what was recommended and the process on how it was done was excellent. Could no be happier with the results. Thanks to the team at RPW.
