Quobba Gnarning Cafe reviews
12This is by far the best cafe at UWA. Coffee is amazingly authentic and tasty, the service is awesome, and they have great food options at decent prices. They are also reliable and open when they say they are, unlike the other places and cafes around. It's so disappointing to see these few poor reviews, and I truly believe these people are just describing themselves and how low level and disturbed they are.
Awesome foods at good prices, terrific coffee, great customer service and they take feedback well, friendly and happy staff, and reliable. I love going there to get my coffee everyday before i start work. Thank you all cos you are normal, and sadly this is something that is rare these days.
Only giving this review a 3 stars because a male barista actually made me a nice cup of coffee, but otherwise the coffee here is closer to a 1 star. I don't think anyone is getting the correct shot times, and I've seen my coffee made with old shots just sitting on the machine SO many times. I pay 4 dollars for a small coffee, which is worth making shots correctly and using the correct run times. + everything is super expensive.almost 10 dollars for a 6 piece sushi is insane! That's more than super tetsudo, and their sushi is restaurant quality.
Really quite nasty coffee and terrible organisation for food orders.
Managed to give our bacon and egg toasties to someone else, left us waiting 25 minutes, then gave us ham and egg toasties with no egg in it as replacements.
Well below average. Avoid.
For $6 you can buy the most stale, dry and flavourless doughnut in Perth. For another $6 you can buy a cup of lava, to your help you push it down.
Excellent & strong coffee. Even better at guild member prices. Also have alternate milks including Alternate Dairy Co range. Service is pretty good - it can get busy being adjacent to Reid Library.
One of my new frequented cafes - being so close to the books doesn't hurt.
Also, open till 8 pm on weeknights and 4 pm on weekends - good for a late coffee and pretty rare in Perth.
Food is decent but could be broader and healthier. Egg spinach wrap was good.
It's a beautiful cafe with plenty of dietary options, which is very satisfying, not to mention your incredible customer service. Used to find my coffee a bit cold but had a nicely hot one on my last visit, which was 5 Sep 2021.
The customer service is great but I think you should educate your staff on proper food safety and making coffee. In addition, you should also invest in a milk thermometer.
I am a regular customer who has been buying short macchiato regularly at this cafe and these are few things I have noticed:
1. I understand during rush hour it is a bit hectic but when I asked for "warm" temperature, literally twice or thrice, it seems that the cashier purposely did not put in the system or pass it to the barista. (Not all cashiers) I assume you don't want the barista to make tiny short macchiato milk that is warm? I suggest, heating the milk jug to warm first and straight away pour that in warm drink and continue heating that warm milk jug to your desired temp.
2. Re-steaming the milk in the jug that has been left for longer than 5sec! This is against health and safety procedures. You are putting customer's health at risk.
3. Rarely washing the milk jugs. Again, it is also against the health and safety procedures. You are meant to rinse it straight away after each usage.
I hope you address these issues as most of these are health risks. I'm sure if you are paying for a coffee you don't want your coffee to be over-heated, bacteria-infested, and tasteless (re-steaming changes taste) short macchiato. I tried my best to give constructive feedback; I don't blame the staff as the root causes seem to be 'lack of awareness. On a side note, baristas seem to be always smiling and I never have an issue with customer service.
Thank you!
I like to get my coffee here when I need one. They also sell a variety of foods, including halal, vegetarian and vegan foods for whoever need them.
The café has a fairly good range of food options, however, most are more like snacks than full meals, meaning I have to purchase multiple items to be full. It is quite useful if I want to focus on study, as all cheaper options require spending more time to get food (unless you bring your own). So it's very handy if I want to have food then get back to study!
Talk about slow and disorganised! Be prepared for a 20 minute wait. And no warning until you pay!
