Do you remember Leonie, Peter? Renae?
Do you really believe hypnotherapy is the best practice? Or perhaps hypnotherapy should R. I. P

My first consultation with Peter was in 2009. I was seeking psychological assistance for a series of traumatic life events.
Peter was caring, thoughtful & adaptable in his approach to my problem (later diagnosed as PTSD).
Let me explain "adaptable".
Sometimes I needed to get over a particular hurdle, a mental block, memory loss or trauma. Sometimes this involved a steady, softly softly approach & sometimes it involved a more rigorous (less softly) approach. Nothing came across as untoward!
Even though I could never say I was rid of the problem of PTSD, I was in a much, much better position psychologically due to my time with Peter.
I saw Peter many times over the next several years, as & when I was in need of his help.
I was just today made aware of other previous "reviews" of Peter's services, as well as, it appears, him personally. As someone who has been helped by Peter, I couldn't not, but provide my honest review of my dealings with Peter Dunlop.
NB: . I consulted with a number of "professionals" prior to seeing Peter. After 1 or 2 consults with the others, I knew they weren't for me.

I started seeing Peter just over a year ago and I am really grateful for the transformation and growth I have been able to achieve with his help. He is a warm and gentle person who creates a safe space. Strongly recommended.

I have been seeing Peter on and off for years. He is amazing, so calm, supportive and non judgemental. I have learnt so much about myself and distructive patterns of behaviour. I've been at crisis point several times. Peter has literally saved my life, my sanity and my relationship. I highly recommend him to anyone struggling.

I have been seeing Peter for some time and have always found him to be kind and understanding. He is firm and challenging when required and always shows compassion.
I have never felt uncomfortable with him personally although he does make me feel uncomfortable with aspects of myself; which is part of the role really.
Highly recommended

If you value your children and family please do not trust this man. He is extremely unprofessional and one sided.

Peter Dunlop is a disgrace to the profession. I went to see Peter and ended up in a worse situation than when before I went to him. What made matters worse was that he was a friend prior to my seeing him professionally. When a crisis arose in my personal life he constantly badgered me to come and see him because he said that he could help. He's the type of person who's convinced that the world needs saving and that he alone was put on this earth to do it.

I was reluctant to go and see him mainly because I didn't want to mix a personal friendship with a professional medical - especially mental health - issue: I should have listened to my initial instincts and stayed the hell away.

To cut to the chase: during one of my sessions with him he got frustrated with me and my attitude and swore at me. He was suggesting to me that I adopt a strategy of personal behaviour at my work which I considered then and still consider now to be completely reckless and without merit and when I questioned him about it he got frustrated that I wouldn't just accept his word and swore at me and told me that if the plan didn't work and I lost my job I could just go and get another one. Needless to say that was the last time I went to see him.

He later defended a personal friend of his, Roy Burton, who runs the Jazz Cellar here in Perth when Roy tried to threaten me with my job at the Cellar by using comments that had been made about me in a public forum which claimed that I was a sexual predator and unfit to be working at the Cellar. So serious were these comments that the host of the forum took them down when I alerted it to them and I had 2 lawyers urging me to file a law suit because I had a legitimate case for legal damages for defamation. None of that mattered to Peter though. He stuck by Roy claiming that there are always 2 sides to a story. He's right: there are 2 sides to every story and Peter is the type of person who doesn't bother with the truth but just simply chooses the side that suits him and his little clique of chums who amuse themselves at the Railway Hotel on Saturday afternoons listening to jazz and getting drunk.

And if you are young and female be wary of his wandering hands. My wife who is Kenyan and I were at the Railway one afternoon and she was sitting next to him in a pair of ripped jeans and exposing a lot of flesh. By this stage of the afternoon he'd had a bit too much to drink and he let his fingers do the talking. From her thigh all the way down to her knee.

Peter Dunlop has been my psychologist for more than a couple of years now. I use to see him very often and now just see him as and when I need to touch base. Our sessions have been relatively calm but they did get intense sometimes. Through it all, Peter has always been a gentleman.

Peter has not been anything but professional and I would say that he has helped me in many ways to rediscover myself and understand the choices I make. I feel that my communication skills have improved and my understanding of situations and how to deal with them are better.

I would not hesitate to recommend anyone (and have already) to see Peter for help. He has been nothing but wonderful. Thanks Peter.
