Following a misadventure with a bowser that delivered ULP not the required diesel to our Toyota Hilux we were advised to get our vehicle towed to Portside Engineering to fix the mistake. We found the the Portside staff to be friendly, polite and very helpful. Thanks to Angus and staff for their prompt and professional help.

This is very much belated. It has been on my to do list for months. So I arrived on the 26th July via a tow truck from Mt Augustus about 4: 30pm after spending 2 nights on the side of the road. Marcus said I could stay in the compound. I was (am) travelling on my own and not a young chicken. My campervan is fully self contained. Next day I looked for accommodation walked around everywhere. I had been warned I would not find accommodation due to a big event in town plus a lot of construction teams. I ended up staying 12 nights in the compound at Portside Engineering. My vehicle was undrivable. Marcus gave me a gate key so I could come and go as I pleased. Offered me a vehicle - which I declined as I could walk where ever I wanted to go. I could get buckets of water for washing etc. Waiting on insurance company response. Plus looking for parts. Marcus spent a lot of time and effort working out what parts I required to repair my campervan (which is my home) plus trying to locate the parts including overseas options as the motor was was discontinued in 2006. I was collected and taken to Marcus and Gail's home for an evening meal and dropped back to my van curtesy of Marcus. I will be forever grateful to Marcus and Gail for allowing me to stay in the compound and for all the effects they put into finding what was need to repair my beloved "Buttercup". Marcus also respond to all my emails / phone calls even after I had been towed to Geraldton, he continued to support me in my journey to getting my home on the road again, months after I had left the compound. The office staff and workmen were all great. Even returning my washing that was drying on the back of a ute that they moved. This is a great workplace and business. Thank you all. I appricate all your efforts. Update after 15 weeks of dealing with the insurance company they released Buttercup as is to me. Buttercup has arrived (towed) to South Australia where she will be repaired. I will definitely call in if I am up your way again. Thank you for all your support emotionally and your expert knowledge. The owner Marcus, did a fantastic job on cleaning & getting the car back into running order.
After a person poured diesel fuel into a petrol fuel tank.
Stayed longer than anticipated in Carnarvon, but travelling back to MoonieMia now.
Thank you Marcus, a true gentleman. Great business.

We started driving from Karratha on 6th June mid night with our friend, helping him to reach Perth due to medical emergency of his 2 month old son. We reached Carnarvon at 7: 00 am Sunday. In all this stress we accidentally mixed up fuel in car at BP fuel station and due to weekend we were not able to find any local mechanic. But local community helped us a lot, a big cheers to all who took a minute to ask whats wrong with us, and helped us in what ever way they can, Thanks a lot everyone. Then after trying a lot we were finally able to talk to Marcus but he was traveling back from Geraldton to Carnarvon and he did considered our problem and asked his mate Angus to help us. He helped us and took our car to there workshop and fixed it. Thanks a lot and we really appreciate your help, we will always be grateful for your help. You all turned our night mare into the day to remember for life.special thanks to Marcus, Kim, and Angus. Hopefully we will see you guys next time when we be driving down.

MARCUS AND HIS TEAM AT PORTSIDE ENGINEERING ARE TOP SHELF!

Firstly, we broke a wheel stud on our motorhome as we arrived in Carnarvon, and the guys squeezed us in and fixed it on the spot!

Then, a week or so later, we had to get back to Qld urgently for a family matter and Marcus went "above and beyond" (in so many ways!) in helping to store our motorhome until we got back.

Everyone we encountered there were great, from the girls in the office, to the mechanics and of course The General. Marcus.

Professional service with outstanding, friendly, country hospitality.
Thanks again Marcus!
