Placer Management Group reviews
4I was contacted and asked why I wanted the role I had applied for. As in - "you are too experienced, the team is young and we need to think about the fit", I then got the comment- the team leader is under 30, she wouldn't want anyone more experienced having ideas on how to run things. Apart from age discrimination there were a whole lot of assumptions about how I might behave in the role! Appalling communication and professionalism.
My partner received a call from one of your staff today.
I’m sure the company you’re representing (who is nameless in the add) wouldn’t want discriminatory comments about woman with young children or not for profit organisations being the first impression they give. Nor that they are willing to guide and help you, or in your terms ‘hold hands’ while you take on this new and exciting (entry level) position.
On the whole, not a great experience.
I would strongly advise job seekers to look elsewhere. Years ago when I was on their system, I received a call from an employee there to tell me about a job opening that I may be suited for, and she asked if this would interest me. I think it was in a kitchen showroom. At the time I was desperately looking for work and said yes because I was in no position to say no. A few minutes later I received a phone call from another employee who was furious that I had this phone conversation. She asked if I actually had any experience in this area and I said no but had worked in retail. She then asks "well why did you say yes to my collegue? " and I said because I needed a job. She yelled at me to say "You can't just say yes to any job where you don't have experience! OKAY? ! " and it was humiliating. It seemed that their had a younger employee call around for candidates for a job without looking at resumes, then the horrible woman who called me after was holding me responsible rather than her employee. I have had success with other recruitment agencies such as Wood Recruitment (who described me as a perfect candidate) and Integrity Staffing. Placer management believe their candidates are disposable, and that if you are unemployed you are immediately a dole bludger. Any logical person in touch with reality knows that the job market is insufferable, even when you're like to and sending out resumes day and night. But Placer Management are not in touch with reality at all. They get their commission from the companies seeking employees, so it doesn't matter to them how they represent their business to job seekers. Poor business practice. The fact that this woman was allowed near a phone without ANY customer service skills or phone manner is laughable.
