Best vibe hostel in Freo. Is a small hostel with the perfect size for you to feel like at home with your family. Friendly staff who would even help you to find a job if you need one. I would definitly come back.

It's my second time in the hostel. I came back now because I really enjoyed my stay! This hostel is really good for every one who wants to have always a good vibe. The atmosphere, people and countyard is perfect!

The staff and guests make this hostel feel like living with a big family. I have been coming back to this place again and again to enjoy the great vibes. Thanks Vaughan and all the Pirate crew! ;)

Pirates is by far the best hostel in Fremantle! It's more of a shared house though where everyone knows everyone and there is a lot of activities going on so it´s very easy to socialize and make friends. If you are thinking of staying in Fremantle as a backpacker, this is definitely the place for you!

Dirty hostel, rooms are full of bedbugs and kitchen full of cockroaches. Staff and owner knows about it but nothing is done.

I have been based at Pirates for a month now and am getting settled in really well here. A couple of days ago I returned from a weeks road trip and felt like I was coming back home. Many people tend to stay here for long enough to make friends, so you return to a place with people that know you, your name and what you were up to. Thanks Vaughan & team for making it a home away from home:)

A hostel that actually feels like home. The common areas make it very easy to meet people and it attracts very chilled and down to earth people. A perfect balance of social and relaxed as well - it's not a party every night like other hostels in the area and they shut everything down at 11 each night anyways so you can sleep. Location cannot be beat, just a step away from the weekend markets and the free bus to South Beach. This is my WA home and I'll happily recommend it to every friend I make on my travels.

I really loved my stay in Pirates Hostel. The hostel is rather small and social, so it is easy to get to know other people and there are fun activities planned as well. The common area/garden is a great place to chill out and have a chat with everyone and the owner and the rest of the staff are very helpful and kind. Some beds deserve a bit of an upgrade, but the overall cleanliness of the hostel is good. Location in Fremantle is great, just a walk away from everything you need.

Pirates is the nicest hostel I ever stayed, it feels like home. The staff are super lovely and accommodating and happy to help with anything, the garden out the back is perfect on a sunny afternoon. Also is importamt to mention that has the greatest location on fremantle. Close to everything, beach, market, supermarket, restaurants etc.around 5min.walk. Will stay again next time i'm in Fremantle.

Been coming and going to Pirates for a long time now when im in fremantle, it's a great small hostel which always keeps its awesome family atmosphere regardless of all the different people I've met here over the years. A great place for first time backpackers to get settled and set up and start seeking work with all the friendly help and experience avaliable from the crew and other guests.

Also a great spot just to crash for a weekend in the city, located in the centre of Fremantle a walking distance from shops, restaurants, bars, beaches, the ferry to Rottnest, the weekend market and all the other amenities freo has to offer.

We made a reservation and when we tried to cancel 48 HS ahead (even we've been trying to call them the days before and nobody picked up) they told us it was too late and charged us almost 60 box straight away. When I was speaking in the phone with the manager explaining the situation he HANG UP the phone. The manager of this hostel is the most rude person I've ever met. Even more, people staying there told me it's a super small, boring and dirty hostel

I loved the atmosphere of the hostel, it feels like a a family but a fun one. The staff are super lovely and accommodating and happy to help with anything, the garden out the back is perfect on a sunny afternoon. The beds are comfy and the room I stayed in was spacious for 6 people. Will stay again next time i'm in Fremantle.

I haven't stayed in the other hostels in Freo so it's hard to have an accurate opinion, but to be honest I won't even bother book any other hostels when visiting in Perth. The lay out of the building is great, mellow and quiet upstairs in the rooms, meanwhile the courtyard and living room are full of life and great chilling areas. Small hostel full of quirks and lovely people. The owner is hands down the best hostel's owner I've had the chance to meet, the staff makes you feel like you belong and I definitely could have seen myself live there for a few weeks. The building itself needs a bit of love (hence 4/5 stars), but the overall experience at Pirates makes up for it.

A small and personal hostel that really felt like a shared home. It was kept clean. The staff were lovely and it was nice to have a seat at reception and chat. The owner was a nice guy with loads of stories. He has been there for 15 years I think. My favourite part is the garden courtyard = so relaxing and beautiful.

Why was it just ok? Um, I got nits from staying there although I only went out in the community two times and they don't stop smoking pot and you can smell it most of the day and most of the night. Very tight people if you like to share nits and a communal bong though, the staff won't mind that. But otherwise the location is great.
