62For the couple of years, I have been here a few times and every single time I had a good experience. The food is always delicious and customer service is excellent.
A truly special place. It's right next to the Supreme Court and is just gorgeous. Breakfast was one of the best we ever had. A perfect way to start a day in gorgeous Perth.
Easily the worst service I have ever experienced. We arrived for lunch as a walk in and were told ‘It’s just hard to find space when people come late’. We almost walked out. It only got worse from there, we felt the staff were extremely snobby without an ounce of hospitality, would it kill you to smile and be friendly? We felt we were an inconvenience from the moment we stepped in. Food was okay, drastically over priced. Definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
Extremely rude and arrogant Wait-Staff. Items on the menu were so overpriced that even Inflation would not be able to justify such margins. Service was so terrible as we felt like we are being talked down to by the Wait-staff from the start (Utterly shocking to the system as we are visiting from Victoria). My partner and I wanted to leave within 10 minutes of sitting down. Would not recommend and surely would not go back.
Our table of six are regulars at Como venues. Our experience at lunch today left a lot to be desired. I should emphasise the wait staff were excellent. Unfortunately one of our group had a sub standard main course. On pointing it out to management we were met with a hostile, verging on aggressive response. After being completely brushed off our guest spoke with the chef. Chef was quite accommodating and acknowledged the course was below par and management would adjust the bill. At the time of paying our account (approximately $800.00) the manager denied our complaint ($40 something dollars) and suggested our group had contributed off cuts from their plates in order to achieve a discount of $40.00 from a total bill of $800.00. The humiliation and disappointment completely ruined our group’s afternoon in the city. Should we as many have not venture into the city due to sub par service and a general aggressive atmosphere.
Let’s contemplate this experience and discuss it with your staff at the Como, please ensure your management are trained to set a high standard of customer relations.
It was OK overall. A bit crafty so not for everyone but in general, nothing to hate but nothing to rave about.
We were a table of 6 for lunch & had a terrible experience right from when we arrived. Service very slow with a snooty attitude, 4 ordered the rump steak (only choice of steak) terrible cheap cut of meat, extra rare which when we complained we were told it can’t be cooked more because it would be tough full of fat & again the manager wasn’t interested in customers opinion or the reputation of the restaurant. Then went to order the cheese plate & when we asked for just hard cheese instead of 3 choices still willing to pay the $38 but were told no we don’t do that, I mean really so we had none & went over the road to ALFREDS PIZZA.won’t be going back we spent $135 per head & received no respect, disappointed
Love the ambience. Great food and drink options. Serves wine by the glass as well that goes well with their meat options.
Uncomfortable seating, small very wonky table (yes it's a listed building), the place was very smokey from the kitchen cooking (or burning I guess) something so the windows were open (6 Celcius outside), literally had to beg to move table to a more comfortable one. Wine is overpriced and 10% surcharge on Sunday. Wife wasn't offered to have her coat looked after, other ladies did. Waiter tried to take away wine bottle with half a glass left in it. Waiter ask if he could clear plates but had hand on plates before reply. Had 4 different person looking after us, why? I thought the selection of mains was pretty boring. There's just nothing else open on Sunday, we'll go to Freo next time. We had a drink at Beer Corner prior and the service was atrocious as well, it's a Sunday you are getting good money, a little smile and friendliness is ok you know, or just call in sick.
When i mentioned i was vegan, they brought out an entirely separate vegetarian and vegan menu, and I was surprised by how good the options were! I ordered the chickpea panise which was almost like an old school vege stack, but with layers of chickpea that reminded me of firm polenta and a really good vegan fetta on top. Really delicious! Service was exceptional and they even brought out an extra dish from the kitchen for us to try which was the korean flavoured cauliflower. Very impressed by the flavours of both dishes and would order them both again. They also had a vegan sorbet for desert that they went out of their way to suggest for me but I didn't order it. I've found it hard to find vegan options in the state buildings previously, so it was a very pleasant surprise to see they had some!
We had the best dinner here; the chef's selection was incredible quality and perfect serving sizes. Our servers were also wonderful and attentive.
Just visited the Petition for breakfast. Greeted upon arrival by Emily and then table service by Valentina. Both were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. We had the special with was poached eggs on toast with advocado and tomatoes and Beans with poached eggs and potatoe gratin. Plus 2 coffees. Good value too for this cool venue. Well done guys, great effort.
Excellent vibe food and top wine list per glass, which provide multiple experiences. Luna provided am excellent service and we hope she can contribute even more with the House. We back soon. Beef chick with barbera, outstanding!
Amazing food and professional and super friendly staff specially Emily! We didn’t book a table but Emily sorted it out for us! The oysters were so fresh! We also enjoyed chicken breast and broccoli salad.
Fantastic service and delicious food. Aromatic garnishes and sauces that pair excellently with their food.
The Petition Beer Corner
This establishment sports a good range of specialty beers. It has a pleasant atmosphere and is not too noisey so it is fine for having a meeting our conducting a conversation.
The Petition Kitchen
The kitchen is a spacious and comfortable venue. The food is excellent and the service is at a very high level. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and it is easy to conduct a business or personal conversation without having to raise your voice. The quality of the food is outstanding. The menu provides a good variety of choices and there would almost certainly be something to satisfy every palate. The venue is licensed so is a great place to stop for a snack and a drink or a full meal.
Had birthday dinner with friends. Food was fantastic and they were very accommodating of a change in our party numbers. Service was also top shelf (Simon our waiter was brilliant).
Dont listen to all those losers rating this place less than 5 stars. This was easily the best meal we have had in WA.
Tonight was great, the waitresses were all lovely, funny and attentive to us. They brought us champagne on the house as we were celebrating and just made us feel very comfortable from the get go.
The food was amazing, adventurous but not wanky.
Definately get the chefs selection set menu, make sure you get the pork neck in it.
Just a hands down good meal and night.
We ate lunch here on Tuesday and it was pretty special. Bread and butter, duck liver parfait, steak tartare, turmeric cauli, broccoli salad, goldband snapper, roasted potatoes, carrot cake dessert, Pommery champers, white wine, French wine, red wine, it was all sensational. We chose the Chef's selection so had no idea what was coming. All meals were beautiful and our waiter was gorgeous. She was perfect. Only comment was that the tables were very close so we were practically dining with our neighbours. Once I had tuned out their conversations it was pleasant. I'd definitely come back here for sure. Share plates.
The team here at Petition were absolutely lovely.from seating us quickly to interacting with our table. Pleasant experience all around. Thanks
