Excellent little shop in Albany - so many things to look at - definitely check it out if you are in town - Albany can be a little devoid of good shopping but this is an absolute exception.

Whilst there is a great selection of books, my wife had a complaint about the graphic inappropriate cover of a book on display near the children’s section. Paperback’s response was totally disappointing considering the ongoing issues related to violence against women. Won’t be recommending Paperbark to others!

Really nice. It has many books and supply options and your able to order books aswell. If your a manga reader your best to come here as it's one of the only places you can get manga from. Really great. Almost all my books come from here

I live in Sweden and I recently asked Paperbark if they could deliver a card and a gift voucher to my mother in Albany. Lockie picked out the perfect card for me, had it filled out with beautiful handwriting and hand delivered it to my mother. Service doesn't get any better than that! Thank you, Paperbark!

Fantastic store, huge variety of books and they promote local authors too. More than just a book store they sell cards, gifts, magazines, board games, stationery, school books and a awesome vinyl records section including record players.
Served by friendly, knowledgeable staff.
One of my favourite shops in Albany
I highly recommend this to anyone.

Paperbark is a lovely independent books shop with a range of other items including nice stationery, records and dvds.
This book shop has a wonderful range of books for all interests. The also have a good collection of fan items especially for the potter heads and whovians. The books are often cheaper than other places and are well picked. They will order in new books for you.
This shop is very supportive of local writers having a large collection of locally written books and helping with book launches. They often have writers in talking and signing books.

Have always loved this Albany bookshop on York St. A great range of books and magazines and now vinyls!

A newsagent/bookstore. A must stop every time I'm in town.

Paperbark used to be Angus and Robertson Albany. When A&R went under a while ago the owners stepped up to the plate and went independent. They have done an outstanding job, starting with their branding, but extending though to their product range of books, toys, stationery and magazines. They do a great job. Now that it has become so easy to order books online you might wonder how bricks and mortar bookshops survive. Paperbark will answer that question for you; it is well worth a visit.
