Padbury Fish and Chips

We have not had take out fish and chips for more than 5years after having a bad experience from this very shop. After hearing the change in ownership and the great reviews locally I decided to give it a go.

Nice crisp light batter, hot chips and melt in your mouth squid rings. Very pleasant staff and with preordering my order was ready exactly on Time. Will certainly be back

First time since new owner took over. Friendly, helpful girl on the phone. Ready in 10mins & order served by smiley, friendly staff. We ordered Spanish Mackerel & chips…my daughter said it was the best she’d ever tasted! Would definitely recommend & we will most definitely be back! Thank you Padbury Fish & Chips

Been going on and off to this fish & chips place the last 20 yrs. Sometimes you get your fair amount for your money. But tonight's I would say was the worst. Small amount of chips. Small thin pieces of fish. Dim Sims, Chiko Roll was good. For $28.35 fish should of been better. Different female staff.

I will preface by saying that the previous time I went here I had a great meal. Would have preferred to email this but no email address can be found.

Unfortunately, this time was extremely disappointing. Ordered via phone - 2 x fish and chips for 2 x people.
When we picked it up, the server was rude, through the order down and only grunted replies. Attached is the amount of chips we received for 2 people (one piece of fish had been removed from the picture in the hopes some chips were hiding below, not the case). Beyond disappointed in both the service and the portion.

4 pieces of fish and $3 chips for $43.
Get home and open the packs to find each piece of fish no bigger than 10cm x 6cm and not very thick and what I would consider VERY minimal chips, overall enough to just feed 1 x 4 and 1 x 6 year old.
Rather disappointing, and now to find dinner for the adults…
Not likely to be back.

We buy the grilled hake and $2 of chips regularly (once/week) for the past few months and have found them to be top quality and consistently excellent, very tasty

Not my local but needed feeding so i called in.
Oil was fresh and meal was cooked well.
Atmosphere was pretty average.
Whilst i only had a piece of fish and a chico roll. The fish was cooked well but it was the most miserable size id ever had in my life. And it cost me $9.95 for a piece of imported Barramundi.
I didnt go for W. A fish as i usually would because their prices were the most expensive i have ever seen at a local suburban fish and chip shop. From memory it was like $16.00 or $18.00.
My local charges $14.00 for pink snapper and u get 2 of the most generous pieces.
Would i go there again. Yes. But i would only grab a chico roll.
And none of the staff smile or talk.

I’m sad to say after supporting this business for many years now. I’m not going back. It started with young girl answering the phone with huge attitude to actually going down to get the order. When I got there heard the same attitude serving the people ahead of me. When I got home and opened our order there were barely any chips and the fish was tiny. Wouldn’t even feed a child. I ordered the fish for 2 which was usually enough for my husband and I and lots of chips usually. I’m sorry but very disappointing.

Will not go back, fish is not even half of piece of fish, everything over cooked and sooo much salt! Waste of money!

Great fish and chips, crispy batter and good portion of chips and service is fab, burgers are delicious!

Worst $50 I have spent, I've had better fish and chips at lunch bars, bulk frozen food served to customers is not a good look guys,
Put it in the bin and got pizza.

Thought we'd give this place another try cpl weeks ago and it was awesome, loads of extra yummy fish like the old days and chips werent floury or precooked like it seems they all are these days maybe coz the owner was there? But went back this time and just a small serve of single fish that was a bit dry and chips seemed slightly under cooked, not bad just not as good as last time. Prob keep searching for my "regular" F n C

Sorry but burnt crumbed sea scallops should never have been given to us. What you should of done was make a new batch or refund us the money.

Don't bother about any where else 95% of time excellent
Grilled fish with lemon and Herb great

Great fish and chips and amazing hamburgers
Food in general is of a very high standard
Service is friendly and the place is always clean, well organisedand you can see them preparing the food, prices very reasonable
I have used them several times and never been disappointed

Terrible. Soggy and oily fish and chips. Something must've changed lately with this business because our last couple of visits have been a big let down!

Worst place to get fish and chips! Id been going here because its close but no more! Everytime we order from them theres ALWAYS something wrong with it. Something missing, over charging, soggy food. Never going there again!
