5 My friend has been struggling so I call Osbourne Park Mental Health where she is registered.
After my phone call I got put through to her case manager who could hardly speak English but I did get the psychiatrist was away till next week. After a half hearted conversation she said she would organise after hour phone calls and visits to keep an eye on her till the psych got back plus she said I will call you back @ 3.30 for an update. I called them and reception said, oh sorry she’s gone home.
Still waiting. Pathetic. The public system is a joke.
REVIEW OF DBT AT OSBORNE PARK.
Dangerously butchered version of Marsha Linehan's DBT. The DBT facilitators are not Linehan certified. The facilitators use the program to their advantage to do minimal work. Patients have reported feeling judged, double handled by staff, noone to talk to about complex issues, no communication between DBT team to maximise patient experience and results. The paperwork is how they track progress, they get their patients to to their own record keeping and analysis of progress for reporting purposes. They have minimised their administration and session time offering no assistance for patients outside of a chopped textbook. Servere waitlists 3 - 7 years. This is a time and money waster. This is a scam program and extremely dangerous.
I had one of the best professionals ever, Dr. NIchole Simmonds. She was sensitive, heart oriented, undestanding, open minded, helpful, professional and collaborator. Absolutely empathetic. I can say that my life wouldn't have been the same without her. I have much to thank to her. I wish we could have many doctor as her. Love and hugs
