5The camp ground was ok, but we asked around for an "on the beach" camp spot where we could fish from. The camp site is not on the beach however only a very short walk but it was a rock shelf to stand on & fish in rocks also, we lost all our tackle off 3 rods. There was only 5 people camped there so quite a nice feel. Dirt road to access the camp ground but track is fine for our 4wd with rooftop camper.
If you come in from the south, brace yourself for a long bumpy drive - from the north is fine, other than crossing the sandy floor of Yardie Creek (low-mid tide). This campground is booked through the NP. It has a basic long drop toilet and some bins. It's not an actual beach here - just a rocky shelf. We tried some snorkelling but didn't see much other than fish.
Very quite camp in the southern Cape Range NP. Close proximity to Yardie Creek for the gorge walk. There is no beach here and snorkelling not good. However, it is very quiet, and Boat Harbour is only 6km south with good snorkelling and fishing. Caravan access is only for the experienced 4wd operator.
Lol only gave it 5 stars because of the amazing location. The camp ground bahahaaaa its just desert scrub, a long drop toilet, ants, mice, wind and flys. Bring everything you need and you'll love the seclusion. Small boat gives access to humpback whales, manta rays, Turtles, reef shark's and the most beautiful coral reefs.
Did a few 100 extra Kms trying to get here. Sat Nav either can't find Ningaloo Rd or doesn't know where it is. Camp-site is ok. No beach nearby.it's all rocky shelf. Some great fossilised corals in the rock. It was really windy when we were there, so not fun with the tent.
