Ocean Centre Hotel reviews
83Made a last minute booking. Got a great room at a really good price in comparison to other similar accommodations in the area. Check-in and out was easy. All staff very friendly and helpful. Secure parking with easy access to rooms. Spectacular ocean view. I'd definitely stay again. The only negative is the sound deadening between rooms isn't great. The room next to us had their TV up loud until close to midnight making it hard to fall asleep. I loved the shower.plenty of hot water. Excellent coffee and food at bar. I highly recommend Ocean Centre Hotel.
Good central location, great service from the staff, comfy bed and great pillows.
Complementary drink is also appreciated.
When you are travelling and something goes wrong that’s when the staff at OCH shine, going that extra mile to make me comfortable when I was in excruciating pain. Finding ice and delivering breakfast so that I could take some meds and along with that a friendly face and sympathetic ear all while you were dealing with no internet and under pressure. Thanks ladies I hope I can do the same for someone else and follow your example.
Great hotel, nice staff, right on the water.
[Revised Review] Just stayed there again. I had a better experience than last time.
Another great overnight stay at the Ocean Centre Hotel. Very clean modern rooms, easy access and great location for a visit to Geraldton. We have made it "our place to stay" when ever visiting the town.
Amazing hotel, wonderful staff, stunning ocean views, and very conveniently located for business guests in Geraldton. I have stayed there 3 times and will love to visit again soon.
This was our first time staying here and the staff are super friendly and the room was perfect for our needs.
Our stay was fantastic as the beach was across the road, shops and cafes walking distance
Comfortable king size bed and very clean room
The stay would’ve been perfect if they had some crockery and microwave for convenience
Also missed movie channels for tv surfing
Otherwise definitely a winner
Had a king size ocean view room, very comfy bed with lots of pillows. Highlight of bedding was a top sheet, so many places just give you a doona.
Reception were awesome, I got several text messages re checking in procedure, even a reminder that reception closed at 9 as I was arrriving late.
They gave me a free drink voucher that I didn’t use and in turn they offered me a bottle of water or soft drink to take the next morning.
Room service was via a 3rd party restaurant, with a QR code menu, love the simplicity of this. Fast and efficient and tasty food.
All in all a great stay.
Just an overnight stay but we had a great king room with ocean views, clean and easy check in and out. Great secure free parking provided also. Had a drink at the bar with friendly service - good stay all round!
Nice clean, large, functional and quiet. In and out was easy and plenty of parking and local food options. The wifi was fantastic
Great place to stay, location is the best, great friendly staff, and fantastic service. Rooms are spotless and the breakfast is superb but I would advise not to eat the night meal there as it was very below average for the price. Would stay there again and would recommend it to all.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, we wanted an upgrade to a room with the balcony, there was none available when we checked in but they gave us an upgrade the next day without any fuss. The room was ready at 11am which was great as we thought we would have to wait till 2pm. Got complimentary drinks when we arrived. Can’t complain about anything at this establishment everything was fantastic, we will definitely be back.
We had previously stayed at this hotel twice with no issues, but this time was different. I reserved two rooms, one with an ocean view and the other without, both of which came with breakfast. When we checked in, we enquired about the possibility of upgrading the regular accommodation to an ocean view; the receptionist (Kate) responded that there are rooms available on the third level. She explained the price differences to us, and when we asked if the breakfast was included as well, she confirmed that it was. When we went up to the rooms, it turned out that our new rooms didn't have an ocean view like the one we had previously. It was on a side of the building with a balcony that provided glimpse of the water. If she had simply told us that it is not in the front of the building, like the prior room that we moved it from, that would have been extremely helpful. We went down to reinstate the original reservations for the rooms. We were pleased at this point because she gently helped with that.
We confirmed second time that the breakfast is included and the response was “yes”. We assumed that breakfast would be included in our room rate for the following two days so we had it there. We once forgot to tell the breakfast staff about our second room and had to go to the front desk to inform them so we don’t get charged for the other two dishes. Tania, the receptionist, confirmed that the breakfast is part of the package of two rooms, so it wouldn't have mattered. By this time, we had brought up breakfast three times, and each time, the staff responded that it was already included. So, after checking out, we drove to Perth. I received the tax invoice for the $80 two-day breakfast fee for a regular room while I was on the way. I called them because I was quite confused. When Kate answered the call, she just repeated that breakfast was not included in your original reservation. We addressed this three times, and I was outraged that you didn't inform me. Although we probably would have continued to eat the hotel breakfast, deceiving or tricking us into doing so is not a very kind thing to do. We were quite disappointed with this. So please be careful when you book the breakfast pacakage.
Great location, within walking distance to cafes, restaurants and pubs. I have stayed here many times and always found staff to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are always immaculate. However, some of the balcony furniture could be replaced as it is rusty and a couple of chairs are about to collapse, they also gets quite hot in the afternoon.
Would definitely recommend this hotel
Booked a room with a view. What we got was a view of scaffolding and a building site. I do feel it is dishonest to sell a room with a view when clearly the building work will make the view worthless. Withe builders around at times we also felt we had to keep the curtains closed.
I’ll start with the positives: location is great, staff attentive, comfy bed. Negatives: yuck.there was dried snot on one wall, two long black hairs on the back pillow (had to be my side of the bed too, not my partners), toilet wasn’t clean, stains on the carpet, we were room 314 and our room was located outside of the main hallway. There was a light right outside our room which shone into our room, the shutters didn’t block out any light - or sound. Which we found out at 5: 30am when there was someone leaving for work. Wouldn’t stay here again, even if it were a more “premium” room.
Great location, quick and easy check in and the staff were very nice. The rooms which we booked appeared new and are very nice, highly recommend.
Reception, dining staff very helpful, friendly and courteous which all goes towards ensuring clients enjoy their stay
My wife and I booked at the Ocean Centre Hotel in October to arrive 06/12. When we arrived the receptionist gave us a room which looked like a dungeon next to the car Park I am 75 years old and my wife is 70.we said to the lady her name was CJ that we cannot sleep in this room it had no windows that opened and was very dark. I asked to see the manager CJ said she was the manager and if we did not like the room we can leave. We had been travelling for four and a half hours and this is the reception we got from CJ please leave. It was very hard to understand what she was saying with her accent. The next morning we went to reception only to see the correct manager Robina who was very nice and obliging and put us in a room with a balcony and made us feel very welcome. What a pity that you have a lady as first contact with your customers and was so rude and claiming to be the manager.
After Robina sorted our room out we had a very pleasant stay, what a pity we lost one night in the dungeon room
