59Easy and straight forward hiring and retuning process. We were happy with the experience renting a C class moving truck from Northside Rentals.
The car we provided was an Infiniti Q50. It was in good condition but running a little rough when stopped and still in drive. We were told this is because the previous hirer used 91 octane petrol instead of 95 (which is not surprising given the difference in cost).
We picked the car up at a location away from the airport. This was a not problem last time we hired from them as we simply called a number and pick up was arranged. This time, however, you have to book pickup and as I missed this when arranging the car and our repeated calls to the 1300 went unanswered we had to find our own way to the pick-up location.
Biggest problem was that the car failed to start on the day we were to return it and fly out of town. When I eventually got in touch with someone at Northside, I was informed I had to arrange for the car to be towed back to their location and they were not interested in helping me in anyway. So, if your car breaks down then it appears you are on your own. For interest, we were quoted A$880 to tow the car and the towie said we would have to pay as he wouldn't trust Northside to pay (luckily, we found a great towie who realised the problem was a flat battery which he recharged and enabled us to get on our way).
Perfect, the car was great and we were able to extend the car easily for another 10 days, difficult to contact via telephone some times but emails seemed to get picked up and replied to quickly. Would recommend.
Brilliant value, yes it was a few years old but drove great and very comfortable (Nissan X Trail). Very easy to drive and heaps of room.

Don’t let the distance from airport put you off. Such a easy, cheap rental with a fantastic clean car. Will definitely use again and highly recommended
Avoid at all costs, picked up a vehicle for a 4 week hire, I was driving home stopped at a junction and a Ute ran into the back of me.
They wanted an excess payment even tho it states on there website, it only applies if it’s your fault. Was told to read the find print. (office staff hadn’t got a clue where it stated it in the T&C’s)
Pretty standard from an insurance perspective that if your hit from behind while stationary your not at fault!
photos provided, the other driver admitted liability but they wouldn’t acknowledge it until the other insurance company had processed from there end.
Wanted excess payment from me was told I’d get it back when they received confirmation from other party, only to say later I’d get it back when the claim is settled opted for a refund but they held onto the excess payment only the difference refunded.
Explained my circumstances and they left me stranded without a vehicle which I was relying on, suffered damages and losses through no fault of my own with a rear end collision.
ACCC have been notified I’d encourage anyone who’ve been through a similar experience with this backstreet firm to lodge a complaint with the ACCC.

Got a quote about 2 months prior to travel and booked a month before, best price compared to everyone for size of vehicle, got a 7 seater Kia Van, for 6 people including 2 children car seats (which we brought along) had plenty of room for everyone and enormous amount of boot space for all our luggage, did an after hours pick up and drop off as our flights were after opening hours, email confirmation was sent straight away, security deposit was returned 4 business days after car was returned, great communication with welshpool office, vehicle was in good condition for hire no problems, also i hired vehicle during school easter holidays, would definitely hire again and highly recommend. Thank you Welshpool Perth for a great experience

I regularly hire both vans and trucks from Northside for my business, the vehicles are always in great condition and very reliable. Pick up and drop off is always smooth and easy and prices are great too!
I've rented several vehicles, cars of all sizes, from Northside over a number of years and they've always been flexible, professional, competitively priced and good quality. Support a WA business rather than the internationals!
The worst customer service, do not return phone calls or emails. Will not return bond - take plenty of photos/evidence. Will never use again
* We know we are liable for the car, the car was returned, have photos, signed off, sat in there yard for further 4 days for them then to say was damage
I leased a vehicle from Northside rentals and found them to be fairly priced. The cars are clean and well maintained
The car was in good condition.
Only came with 3/4 of a tank and we were told to return with a full tank or be charged.
Returned a full tank and when we did and questioned the Reduced tank and were told to read the small print.
Can only recommend that you demand a full tank of fuel as you will receive no refund on filling up and would have to be a clairvoyant to know how to fill up to 3/4 and expect not to be charged.
Great car with no problems. Staff friendly. We used these guys thinking it was near the air port, its not and the shuttle only operates during specific times. Filled all the paperwork in prior to arriving, then had to do it all again when we got there. We had to Uber back to airport. Website indicated unlimited kms, however found that this is not the case if you are outside the metro area. Disappointing as we were travelling to Bunbury to see family. Ended up not being able to do everything we wanted to do and still went over, which cost us, to try and manage the limited kms. Car was great though, no issues. It was a near near hybrid so there was some fuel savings. Just a shame so far from the airport.
I was in Perth last week and hired a small car from Northside Rentals. The service I received was fantastic! Everything was easy to understand and the cost was affordable. I will certainly be using them again.
Had a great experience with this rental service. The vehicle I rented for 7 days at a fraction of the price of other services was great, no issues with check in and no issues returning the vehicle. I was initially hesitant to book because of the low price but I will definitely be using this service again.
