North Beach Deli reviews
74 One point for the view, one point for the on-site parking. The food was really not good, the portion sizes weren't that big and the coffee was literally undrinkable - and my standards aren't terribly high.
I ordered the pancakes, which looked amazing but had no taste, came with ice-cream (I got them to swap the pistachio for vanilla) that was icy, not creamy, and bacon that was cold. The roasted strawberries were good, though - pretty much the only part of the dish that had flavour. Totally disappointing. Definitely won't go back.
Over priced 2 chicken burgers/chips plus 2 coffees cost $54. It was good, but that's expensive.
The coffee was reasonable, not a fan of the baked eggs, unfortunately the egg was cooked all the way through and the Turkish bread, which looked home made quote doughy.
Bitterly disappointed. I ordered fish (snapper) and spud with a side of onion rings. I gave 2 stars for the onion rings. I received 2 very thin slices of fish that tasted horrible. Snapper I think not! The spud wedges were dry and the side salad was made up of mixed lettuce, 4 cucumber chunks and 2 slices of tomatoe. It didn't even have a salad dressing. My meal came out with no cutlery and there was no salt or pepper on table, I had to ask the table beside me for theirs cause I couldn't get the attention of any staff The photo attached is off their FB page and does NOT look like what I was served!
Friendly service, in an Idyllic, ocean front location with an interesting menu that has some vegan and Paleo options.
Sadly walked out after having to find my own table, get my own menu, then go to the counter to order. Only to be forgotten about. Was a sat morning and it was full though. Wife and I are Dinks and were very hungry. That's a hefty bill they missed out on.
We were really impressed with the vegan options. We chose the Gnocchi and the Eggplant and Tofu Sticky Fingers. Both meals were very presentable and packed full of flavour. Lovely view and staff were friendly and helpful!
My husband and I grabbing a coffee here before going for a coastal walk. We've had brunch twice, both times delicious. The prawn gnocchi is incredible and the pulled pork nachos are super tasty. Fantastic staff and service. Great spot along the beach.
Worst service ever, manager tried to blame inexperienced staff.the food you served up was terrible. I used to like going here but you can forget it now. Went straight up the road to voyage, much better service up there
Lovely place to have a meal and chat with friends and overlooking the sea. Table service offers a relaxed efficiently. The salad I had was exceptional; a delicious balanced mix of flavours put together with genuine appreciation for taste.
Such a lovely place to just sit back and relax. Great view and tasty food. The staff were very friendly and helpful it was a great stop off for a mid week lunch
Delishes French toast, it was a bit different to your average French toast but the toppings and sides all came together really well. Their chocolate milkshake is also really creamy and chocolaty! And it is in a nice big cup!
The food at North Beach Deli is good, but the staff service (on this particular occasion) was a let down. After waiting 20 minutes for our food, we saw it ready at the kitchen window. The waiters obliviously walked by about 7 times, as even more food piled up. Finally when staff came to serve us our food, they stood there on their iPads for at least 2 minutes, appearing to have technical issues. When we eventually received our food (which was a chicken burger and beef burger), it was pretty good, however, the size made it a little sickening. Overall, an average experience at the North Beach Deli.
The only consistent thing about this venue is staff rudeness! I usually avoid this place as I've never found the staff to be friendly and the food over priced. Today I thought I would give it another try as Yelo was packed. When I tried to pay cash for my $4.50 purchase, the woman abruptly said we dont take cash! Absolutely ridiculous. If you want good food and service, stick to Little Bay, Yelo or even 96 degrees! Avoid N B deli at all costs!
It is sad when staff forget that hospitality is not only about selling food. It is about experience and treating people well. They made me feel I was so unwelcome that I felt like leaving before the food was served.
The effort put in to give the artsy aesthetic, was not reciprocated in delivering an above average burger. I am definitely not comparing the standard to a chain restaurant, but this occasion was definitely nothing to boast about.
Went for a coffee and they treated me like I was diseased no cash taken only card. I sat at a table waiting for my coffee told me to move on and how they had to disinfect the table (fair enough) but they do all this caution/cleaning and then hands me a coffee by an ungloved Hand I hope it was sanitised.a bit one sided I think
North beach cafe is my local. There cutomer service is the worst I've experienced consistantly. I understand people have bad days but every time I go there I have a bad experience with staff, and I am always trying to smile or compliment them to make there job nicer but the ladies are just plain rude. They also mess up my order alot (just a cappiccino with a sugar) and give no apology. Thankyou rude ladies for helping me get fitter because I walk futher now to get my coffee from a place that knows how to treat a human like a human.
Foods and coffee is pretty good.
I had a very nice meal at the North Beach Delhi. Service is friendly, coffee is good, and food was good overall.
Why only 4 stars? The egg dish was stunning, but the French toast was not good. Too much not very good cream cheese (or is it sour cream) which overpowered the dish and killed the taste.
I will go back though to try the rest of the menu.
We've been here for breakfast & lunch. Couldn't fault it! Full of flavour & generous amount of food. Great service, fantastic position right on the beach on West Coast Hwy, & value for money. Overtaken some other places as my favourite now
