Museum of Geraldton reviews
66 Very interesting and free but can make a donation. There is a brief 3D film showing the tragic story of the sinking of the HMAS Sydney (II) and HSK Kormoran.
Certainly worth a visit and staff very friendly and helpful too.
A very good museum with interesting collection especially the Shipwreck and HMAS Sydney II exhibits
Fantastic history museum of the Geraldton Area. Staff there are fantastic. There is so much to offer.
Nice museum to wonder through interesting guided tour and make sure you take to watch the short film showing the resting place of the HMAS Sydney 2.
Really nice museum. Activities for the kids, cute gift store, informative and interactive displays. The staff were great.
Guided tour relating the horrendous story of the Batavia and the base levels that humans can go to. Also many displays of historical and indigenous artifacts. And a pictorial, textual and 3D film relating the sinking of the Sydney battleship in 1941, with a loss of all hands.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Very good movie to explain the whole HMAS Sydney II ship tragedy
Lovely museum, well worth a visit if you are in Geraldton. Lots of information on the Batavia ship wreck. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is a large gift / souvenir shop as well
A little bit of all local history, from the Batavia mutiny to the sinking of HMAS Sydney,
well set out
Will be back ran out of time today
WOW - impressive and all free but donations accepted. The 3D film of HMAS Sydney is sensational, and we learnt heaps about Sydney & Batavia discoveries. Not to forget the 16 leg spider exhibit!
Very informative Museum to visit giving a lot of local knowledge on this northern part of this coast line. Also very good for children.
Great museum, the Sydney-Kormoran exhibit is worth the visit but the Batavia info is also fantastic, friendly staff, nice location, free but $5 donation suggested and given
Prachtig museum. Zeer informatief over oa hmas Sydney en ook Batavia. Zeker doen. Vrijwilligers: TOP
Small but very informative. Well put together. Enjoyed every minute. Maybe people with small kids must just watch their little ones not interfering where people are watching videos. So much to learn here. Would advise every visitor to Geraldton to make a turn here. It does not cost much, and you can donate $5 or don't have too.
If you like museums don’t miss this place. Lots of local history and displays as well as dedicated Batavia shipwreck exhibition and WW2 HMAS Sydney exhibition
Well worth a visit to learn all about the local area, with a key exhibit about the wreck of the Batavia. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.
A very good museum, lots of really interesting things to look at, also very educational. Well worth a visit, especially if you're not up on Australian history.
This is yet another amazing and FREE Musuem (well done WA!).
The current exhibit on the Abrolhos is fantastic.
It's always amazing to see the history - especially with the HMAS Sydney II wreck, the details they have here are amazing.
Mighty interesting place history at its best the pioneers and what they went through a must for a school excursion
