Moonlight Cinema Perth reviews
55Moonlight simply pockets the money when they decide not to screen a film. Our session was cancelled due to "heat" which was only 28 degrees at the time of screening. We were not offered a refund. I had invited friends who had purchased tickets that also won't be refunded. Avoid Moonlight Cinema - because if they cancel you will not be refunded. This is a huge waste of money and their policy not to refund is actually illegal.
Have been here 3 x now. Saw 2 Christmas movies over festive period and had a great time. 3rd movie Ferrari wasn’t so great. I love the experience of sitting in the park with blankets and a picnic, great you can take your own alcohol.
Great night out A+, gold grass is worth the extra $$ to get out the front with great service
Watched Avatar here a few weeks ago. Loved how you can order from your table and pay from your phone. VIP section well worth it for table service. Will definitely return soon.
The tickets can be a bit expensive if you go past the basic price, but we purchased bean bag chairs when we were there, definitely worth it. Definitely a nice night out
How lucky are we?
Outdoor cinema in King's Park. An Avatar film needs a grand setting to match.
Moonlight Cinema did not disappoint.
Very cool venue drinks served on site good spot to take the significant other out or go out with friends well organised with friendly staff if you don't pay extra for the bean bags experience you can bring your own I'd highly advise bringing bean bags or picnic blankets with a camping mattress and pillows is ideal.
Staff don't seem aware of what the plan is, allow random people in to dump stinking bags of rubbish in the bins.
Extremely poorly signed, you have to take a wander to find the entrance. Perhaps stick a sheet of A4 on the (blocked off) emergency exits.
Barriers aren't secured or weighted down either, health and safety would have a field day.
No control on entry, you can just waltz in entertainingly.
Bookings team clearly don't communicate with the operational staff, as they're running around reorganisating extra beanbags constantly.
Ran out of multiple ice cream flavours 15 minutes after doors open, with less than a dozen people in, and nobody else ordering one.
Bags aren't staggered at all, weirdly.
Bags are relatively comfortable but be prepared for the cold (went in Nov22) and pack your own food as the food options are limited
We paid for gold grass and reserved snacks. We were denied red carpet entry and our snacks were sold before we arrived (still 40 mins early) and the bean bags were wet and no waited service. Disappointing.
Situated May dve Kings Park lounges available Ie floor food available drinks also nice night out under the stars
This is awesome. Can hire bean bag chairs on site or bring your own. Massive screen and surprisingly good sound quality. Being some food or buy from the food trucks. Been a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Remember the insect repellent!
Moonlight cinema is the open air theatre, conducted in Kings Park at the gardens near May Drive Parkland. There is ample space for parking, just outside and toilet facilities near the venue.
The area gets pretty windy and would be a good idea to carry a jacket. It's worth getting the bean bag for hire from the organizers. Experience is quite nice.
Essential Perth summer activity! Kings Park botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful at sunset and the perfect location for an outdoor cinema. Bring your own food and have a picnic.
FYI aussie summer = lots of mosquitoes- bring bug spray!
Fantastic place to relax and enjoy a movie.
You can buy food and drinks or BYO.
Check the weather conditions before you leave home.
Nice movie theatre under the stars.
Overall the place is nice, but:
Be ready to pay extra $10 for bean bag. Adding the price of the ticket it is quite a lot, e.g. Bean bags provided for free at Girls School Cinema
The sound might be quiet in the far end
Chips might be over fried
Mosquitos are present
It is getting cold at night
Make sure you bring a blanket and pillows for yourself if you don't hire a bean bag! Other than that, absolutely perfect night
Beautiful nights under the stars. I also find they always have a great selection of films compared to some other outdoor cinemas
Great summer experience. Take a picnic & enjoy the sunset in Kings Park before enjoying the movie under the stars
