Dr. Leon Cohen & his team at Mercy Bariatrics are very professional & helpful during whole process that is pre surgery preparation, surgery and post surgery guidance for maximum benefit of surgery. Thier services are of very high standards and they made this experience very easy for me. Excellent job Team Mercy Bariatrics!

I had my surgery in 2020. Dr Cohen was excellent very clear and concise with the surgery procedure. After care is very supportive. It has changed my life I am healthy and happy and my weight is where it should be and stable. If you make the choice to have surgery do as you are told do not try to search for short cuts. This is only a tool you have to change your mindset. I would not take advice from Facebook groups. The aim is to eat nutrient dense foods that nourish your body. That is the only reason for eating. Eat whole foods keep away from processed rubbish. If you are an emotional eater seek help from a health professional first.

Have had such a great experience with Dr Cohen and his staff at Mercy Bariatrics. The amount of care for their patients is outstanding and they are very accommodating. Highly recommend Dr Cohen and his team.

Dr Cohen and his team have quite literally changed my life. I'm only ten days post op but have already hit 30% excess weight lost.
You have to put the effort in and commit to the program but if you do the reward is massive.

First the first meeting, to surgery and to my now follow-up, the Team at Mercy Bariatric have been very professional, supportive and caring throughout the process. Dr Leon Cohen has also been there with reassurance and had answers all of my questions leading to my decision. I researched many centres, and although some were good… Dr Cohen is at the top of Bariatrics Surgery was one of the first to introduce Gastric Sleeve to Australia. I felt safe, assured and not worried that my surgery would have any problems. Even the Mt Lawley Hospital staff were amazing, I woke up and was able to go home the next day and was so cared for. It has only been a couple of weeks so far since my surgery and the weight loss to date has been outstanding and already life changing. Should you choose to go with Mercy Bariatric, you will not regret it.

I have had total gastric bypass surgery. Before surgery I was an alcoholic. Once you are an alcoholic, you are always an alcoholic. Even though I was going through a clean time when I had the surgery, I did not know what would happen after! Now I am suffering. All I can say is abstain from alcohol after the surgery! I am done! Lost a lot then gained a lot from alcohol! Not from food! I needed to let people know.

I started my journey with Leon and his staff about 4 months ago from the start I felt as though I was part of a huge family. The follow-up appointments post-surgery is amazing. Thank you to everyone.

Absolutely brilliant surgeon and a fantastic team at Mercy Bariatrics. A wholistic approach to weight loss surgery, with regular reviews (dietitian, exercise physiologist and surgeon), a “successful habits” program to ensure you get the most out of the tool, and a team to support you. Awful experience, had to wait for almos 45 after my appointment, receptionists whinging because someone forgot a document, Dr. Cohen didn't take me seriously because my BMI wasn’t that high and he had the audacity to tell me that “I wasn’t 20 to be a hot chica” given of my Latin background… so unprofessional and disrespectful! Worst experience ever!

I am now six months post surgery and am living a whole new life. Every member of Mercy Bariatrics without exception is professional, knowledgeable, experienced and very patient friendly. No questions go unanswered and the support provided is second to none.

I would not recommend Dr Cohen at all.
Very Very expensive with lots of confusing added costs. I have not and will not be complaining about the expense. BUT. Finally there was $850 that they could/would not justify. Each time I rang I spoke to some one different and got a different explanation for the $850. Finally their office manager, Denise, said the $850 was an administration fee. A fee that I get nothing in return. The banking royal commission fined all the banks for charging an admin.fee for no service. I finally got an email from Dr Cohen himself saying I can take any action I like to recover my $850 but he will defend it and said I will not be getting a refund at all.
Although I have lost a lot of weight I feel he has let me down. Very poor business operating procedures. The $850 was for nothing in return. I will be taking legal action. When you decide to take this type of surgery you will be on an emotional roller coaster as it is a major decision. You cannot have this surgery reversed if you cannot handle it so you do not need hassles over money at the same time. Mr Cohen knows this and I believe he plays on it to his financial advantage. His oversize ego is focused solely on his bank account and yours. Be very careful.

I am so pleased witn my decision to engage with Mercy Bariatrics for weight loss surgery. 6 months post op I have had excellent results with my weight loss and my general health has improved enormously. I feel the integrated team approach is essential to get great long term results. Dr Andrew Kiyingi is kind, caring and extremely professional, and the staff are always lovely to deal with. Highly recommend this practice.

Wow, what a great team approach Mercy Bariatrics has, recently had a consultation regarding weight loss options, met the team, dietitian, exercise physiologist and one of the GP Bariatrician''s.
