Meat and Mains

Unfortunately against all the previous reviews our experience was not great. After being recommended to have a Sunday beef roll from a family member I decided to buy a couple for my son and I to have for lunch. On the first bite all the meat came out as one piece as it had connected tissue, gristle, whatever you want to call it, binding it all together. We tried to salvage what we could but basically had to throw most of it away as it was inedible. Disappointing to say the least and and expensive mistake. Note our family member has never had a problem and was surprised that it happened.

Wow! What else is there to say! If you haven’t been you have to go! From ready made meals to top quality cuts off meat not forgetting their unbelievable homemade sausage rolls, my only dilemma was “ not to buy everything! ” I purchased their home made steak pie which was absolutely delish, the ready made chicken Mexican stir fry, I could not decide on which sausage roll so I bought both I was told “ you will come back! ” They were absolutely right I will be back!

Probably the best butchers ever.

They have everything.

From the perfect lamb rump for that Sunday roast. To the beef baguette for a Saturday lunch.

Oh, and did I mention the sausage rolls? Did I mention the SAUSAGE ROLLS!

A butcher who’s a cut above the rest! Snagged some sausages which were massive crowd pleasers. Have swung by multiple times since. Even offers steak appreciation sessions which look super interesting!

Found this place on recommendation of a colleague. Bought a precooked lamb shoulder which was amazing. The sausages were 'very yum' according to my fussy 6 year old! Friendly staff who were really helpful in suggestions. Definitely our go-to now.

Great products, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and all at the same price for way better quality than the supermarket. Also does a stellar roll.

Meat & Mains is the newest and best butcher in Mount Hawthorn! Tom and his team are AMAZING and once you try his cuts, you won't be able to purchase them anywhere else. He's taken the stress out of mealtimes and the quality of our meals next level! Thanks Tom

A great butcher generally with innovative, very tasty, ready to go meals! However, the two stuffed chicken rolls we had for Christmas were just outstanding. See you again in ‘23.

To be perfectly honest I'm normally dodgy on home cooked kebabs. They are usually tough and never as tasty as the ones we would get from our local Market in Darwin. I Recently had a chicken kebab From meat and mains.it was juicy tender and extremely tasty. I was very pleasantly surprised. Tom the butcher is Extremely passionate about the food he prepares and serves and his customer service is unbeatable

You’ll find beautiful meat & the butchers are so happy to share their knowledge about cuts of meat and how to use them. You can’t go wrong here AND most importantly the quality and flavour of everything is premium!

This place is awesome. Great cuts of quality meat, friendly and helpful staff and they offer a massive range of Chef-prepared seasonings and sauces when you choose your meat. Everything we’ve bought from here has been excellent! Highly recommend.

The team are welcoming, very happy to help explain their perspective and their varied selection of meat’s and meals-to-go. From aged steaks, blackened brats, green chorizo, smoked lamb and much more.
If you are after a quick bite to eat, their roast beef or pork rolls with sauerkraut, cooked fresh on the day are a saporous and satisfying!
We have purchased a few of their offerings for dinner from sausages, lamb koftas, roasts, mince, bacon etc, all have been enjoyed by the family and we have never been disappointed.
If your looking for something different and your around near the Mezz in Mt. Hawthorne, I highly recommend Meat and Mains!
