I have been to the gown shop on 2 occasions. On both occasions the shop assistant Vivian was very cold and did not offer help. When I asked to try on some clothes she told me that they would not fit me and would not let me try them on.
Thank goodness for Roula and her customer service which is the saving grace of this place.

I purchased a $380 Miss June crochet and cotton dress that I had on for an hour or so when visiting my father in law on Christmas day. His partner was admiring the crochet when she noticed a fault and then looked further to find numerous faults where the crochet is coming away from cotton, leaving a hole. I went into the store in mends street arcade and was asked to go over to the other store in South shore piazza where the owner was. She stated it was the nature of crochet and would not give a refund. Rather rude and pompous woman who has no customer service skills. I will be going to small claims court with this and contacting the designer as well as reporting this business to consumer affairs.

The ladies, especially Viv attended to every detail, and advised on style and colour. Thankyou.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited, I have just purchased my Melbourne Cup outfit from Mariko's- four years in a row and this shop never disappoints! I have moved away from my traditional black outfits and added colour this year on Viviene's and Rula's recommendations. I couldn't be happier!

Went to get a dress from there that I had my eye on for a while. As I was looking at the dress, Vivian came and asked if I wanted to try it, told her I’ll in a bit as I was looking at the size conversion on my phone, she snatched the dress and said “Yh I don’t think so” and hanged it back at the rack. I was left speechless and not sure what the issue was with her. The others girl there have always very helpful and friendly but Vivian left me shocking with her rude and disrespectful customer service today. Will never be back to shop there, feel sorry for the owner as they have someone like her representing their business.

A great store for formal and quality bridesmaid dress options (we had been disappointed at other hire and latest trends stores that provided a bridesmaid service as they had limited sizes and style options available). Rula was friendly and provided excellent service to us, letting us know what dresses we could order and what alterations they would make for us. There is an excellent assortment of dresses, formal wear, shoes and jewelry. This store is well known locally - it has been a stalwart in South Perth for decades - and is highly recommended for wedding wear, balls and formal wear. Brands include J’Adore and Joseph Ribkoff.

Beautiful dresses and beautiful staff. We entered the store looking for dresses for my MIL and SIL to be for my upcoming wedding. Thankyou ladies SO much for a wonderful experience - we had so much fun we didnt realise we had spent 2 hours in the changerooms! We will be back again.

Went in today to buy a dress for a gala event next weekend, I was helped by two lovely staff members, one lady with red hair and a blonde lady (sorry i didn't catch your names)
They offered loads of advice and helped me get into and out of the dresses I tried on.
I found a gorgeous red dress and was even given a discount for my purchase and a coupon for an alterations place.
Would definitely recommend Mariko to anyone looking for a formal dress.

Such a fantastic store! I was so impressed with the variety of gorgeous dresses and the exceptional service from the beautiful lady working there yesterday. She provided professional assistance in finding dresses that complimented my body shape and helped me to find the most stunning dress. When trying on different dresses she even showed me the alterations which were needed. This is something you get little to no help with in many other formalwear stores.

My mum also ended up buying some things for herself too, in which the lady offered to order in a skirt they didn't have stocked in her size.

The kind, helpful, and experienced staff at Mariko provide unbeatable service by going above and beyond for their customers and I will no doubt be going back for any future formal occasions.
