If you REALLY want your windows and surrounds cleaned Roger and Anna from Manhattan Maids did a fabulous job of spring cleaning our windows and carpets. They even managed to get the windows behind the security screens clean - first time in 15 years! I would be very happy to recommend them to anyone. They were also delightful people.

Steer clear its not what they try make it out to be - It’s all just words!

We were disappointed with their concept of the QA Manager which is the main reason we went with Manhattan in the first place, so that the maids didn’t become complacent – Which they did. The QA Manager only ever came to our house when we raised issues with something. So essentially, we were playing the QA role!

Despite them advertising that the manager of the company is there for her VIP customers, she does not answer her mobile phone at all. They are keyboard warriors you only ever receive emails or SMS message, same applies to the area manager.

So many staff turnovers as they utilise Brazilian students coming to Australia to study. The last maid we had took the cake who could not speak one word of English it made it very difficult for us. To the point I was translating text messages into Portuguese so she could understand the message. Some of these girls had no idea how to iron and the QA manager didn’t support them in their effort with this either, we had a lot of re-ironing to do.

We have had maids damage things whilst cleaning and they have also let us know and we sorted it ourselves or the issue wasn’t a big deal. However, with the very last cleaner she did break something that was not broken when we left for work in the morning and did not own up to it.

We also turned a blind eye to the fact that this same maid turned up late and left early [no this is not an accusation we have CCTV footage of it]. We had a maid who used to be on her phone walking around the house cleaning and talking [yes, I was working from home and heard it] we are paying these people by the hour to be working in our house not to be organising their social lives!

What was broken recently would have taken some force to break, yet the area manager who did not come to look at the damage quoted in email to us “Over time, everything deteriorates and requires upkeep and possibly repairs - this is normal wear and tear for every household item” This is a complete assumption she has made as she does not know the age of the item nor its maintenance history.

This was enough for us to want to cease our regular weekly cleaning with this company – despite all the claims they have insurance etc etc… THEY JUST DON’T WANT TO USE IT or be honest about the issues with their maids.

Go elsewhere and don’t waste your time or money dealing what we felt was very frustrating times with Manhattan Maids.

*EDIT* Interesting you say. "We also don't have a client matching your review name so we have been unable to contact you directly". Besides the fact you tried to call me after my review was posted and exactly how many houses do you go around damaging? That in itself is even more concerning. No reviews in a year, yet my 1 star comes up and all of a sudden you have chased 3 'new' 5 star reviews! OMG.enough said!

I had the pleasure of working for Manhattan Maids for 3 years. Serious company with great support from the management. Respectful and lovely customers, it was hard to say bye to my customers, they treated me like family.

I hired Manhattan Maids for a regular cleaning of my house, and I am absolutely thrilled with the service provided. From the moment they arrived, it was evident that professionalism and attention to detail is their priorities.
The cleaners always arrive on time and they are very friendly. They always take the time to listen to my specific requests.
The quality of the cleaning is really good. The girls always make sure the service is completed and the entire space seemed to sparkle when they were done.

Definitely professional and nice to deal with. I was a little underwhelmed with my spring clean. It felt more like a regular clean because things such as my oven, light switches, and all the "extras" I paid more per hour for were not done. Spring clean hourly rate is higher than the regular. I would use them again for a standard one off catch up, but nothing more than that.

Manhattan Maids is an excellent company to work for. They offer quality service and are very professional and organized, and very ethical when dealing with service providers. They are very ethical when dealing with service providers.

I contracted Manhattan Maids for an end of lease clean and window clean. While the work was done to the expected standard, the cleaners broke the rangehood glass, and Manhattan Maids are refusing to pay the full replacement cost. This held up my bond for 8 weeks while the real estate agent sourced a new glass for the rangehood. The attitude from Manhattan Maids towards paying this expense has been appalling.
