Mandurah Discount Drug Store

A junior staff member served me for two over the counter medications I wanted. Voltaran; to reduce my swelling; and Nurofen for my headache.

Before reaching for the two products she asked me if I was going to be taking them at the same time.

Three times I told her no.

She then still did not give me the products.

She ran off to a chemist.

He then came out and asked me the same quetions.

I told him I had just told the young girl three times I would not be taking the medications at the same time.

He became beligegerent and said: If you wont answer my quetions I am a not going to sell you the products.

I told him again i had already told the young girl three times, and now him directly three times i would not be taking the product at at the same time.

He refused to accept my answers and so I told him I wanted to talk to the manager.

I told the manager I had told these two staff members 6 times now I would not be taking the meds at the same time.

I was sick and tired of the staff not listening to my answer and he either sold me the products or I would go eleswhere.

The whole scene deterioated in an aggresive confrontation by his staff calling me a liar.

This in front of many people waiting nearby.

I told them that as they were wasting my time they could have the Voltaran back; and I walked out.

This is the second time this unprofesional atttitude has been forced on me when i want to buy products over the counter.

There is a fine line between a duty of care and an intrusive quetioning of a customer who already knows what they need; and has just come to buy it.

I see from the other comments here, this is a standard practice for this firm.

The trite respnse from the owner being: "We have a duty of care".

Yes you have a duty of care to listen to a customer and what they are saying to you.

That will then inform an intelligent reponse from you.

Customers are not stupid, They know what they need and will ask quetions if they are not sure.

Realise that it is the customer who keeps you in buiness, and the customer is always right.

In pain Ithen drove to another chemist, Pharmacy 777 in Dower Street Mandurah.

No intstusive questions after I told them the two products I wanted and what i wanted them for. A smile and freindly service.

I dont want to hear any of the smart comments you have put on here for other peope who have complainaed about you atrocoius method of service ; trying to blame their attitude.

Prehaps you could all go to Pharmacy 777 your competito for a dayr and learn how a professional Pharmacy is actually run.

If you can't deal with customers, which you can't - Get out of retail. Find another job or business.

Disgusting, not helpful, don’t want to help. So rude & the young girls just stood around talking & did not want to help a poor mum with 2 sick & screaming kids to get over the counter medicine, neither did another member of staff we asked. Won’t be returning there. Should probably hire some staff with just the slightest bit of empathy and moral compass.

This is my GO-To chemist for all my pharmacy needs. They have an app to order meds & other non script items which reduces wait time. Cost of meds is competitive & plenty of in-house bargains. A big SHOUT-OUT to Stacy who delivers excellent customer service who knows her stuff like the back of her hand. I am giving for Stacy’s customer service. TY Mandurah Discount Drug Store.

I phoned 3 times hoping to get the price of a new medication I’ve been prescribed, and each time the phones rang out.
I avoid going in store as the wait time is horrendous, but it seems phoning is just as bad.

Omg what a shocker yet again. Worst chemist ever Rude unhelpful arrogant. Never go there again.

Really negative experience from Fiona. Tried to call the chemist to rectify the situation. Fiona Informed me she was the owner and there was no issue. Mistakes happen, that's ok, it's a pressurized environment I get that and the mistake is not my issue but to treat someone with disrespect, disregard and blame was just awful. I had to walk out of the store as I was in tears and leave my husband to deal with it. She critersized me for leaving the store when i phoned and again placed blame on me and could not answer any of my questions to why my husband was refused service when he came to pick my medication when he has authority. This is a major issues as there are times due to my condition that i cant drive so my husband actually had to take a day off work to come back on Saturday.

That should not have happened and i feel i deserve an explanation.

I was aggressively told by Fiona my doctor should of called the chemist regarding the blister pack so i called my doctor and she stated she did not need to do that.

I have chronic anxiety. I was crying and having a panic attack. I needed the safety of my car so to be critersized for not remaining in the store shows a lack of empathy on her part. You only need to look at the medications I'm on to understand how hard things are for me.

I was also told I would have to come back Monday to pick the medication up when there is medication I needed Sunday night and Monday morning before work. So I refused to leave the store as I'm dependant on the medication to function so I was terrified of not having access to it as i know how sick i become. I'm also going to hospital so required all of my medications. This is really sad because I've been treated with nothing but kindness and empathy from the staff that work for her so to have the owner treat me so badly that I had a panic attack was terrifying. I was already so scared nd hightened due to being told i have to come back Monday and i new i would become very sick from abruptly stopping the medication.

It's a bit slow to get a script. You have to wait in three different lines. One to put script in, then one to wait for script, then one more line to pay. I think you should only have to use one line to do it all. It always takes almost 30 minutes whenever I go, so it's a bit stressful when you have anxiety. Also with covid around the longer you wait is not good. Some cheap products but lots of new age stuff like candles and hippy type products.

A great chemist with very friendly and helpful staff. They also sell a great verity of stock including vegetarian and gluten free foods.

Closed on public holiday. My elderly mother in law needed painkillers and no-one open near Peel Hospital
I pray she won't need them.

Such a great chemist and health food store. I was able to find everything I needed. Highly recommend it!

Charged $10 for one document verification service.total rip off. I was in urgent need and with no other chemist close by had to go for it still. Everywhere else it is a gold coin donation and a service offered to help community students. Not to make business out off it. Greedy people!

May be the 1 stop shop for everything but compared to usual visits the staff are slow and some are just standing around talking while 16 people are packed in the prescription waiting area.shocking

So disappointed with your need for profit, when the whole country struggles with covid and work, you would dare charge 10masks for $25 when i see its $39.99 for 50, dont get me wrong i understand there is a need to limit the number you give to people but over 100% mark up? The people you are selling it too are workers too and elderly, so much for compassions i suppose.

Great range! All sorts of supplements, great tea selection for a chemist in particular also a small assortment of frash "alternative foods" ie. Gluten free breads, vegan. " but everything quite pricey.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. A very large stock of just about everything you would need with good pricing. They have been so professional during the recent lock down.

We had some fantastic assistance from the pharmacists tonight. Exceptional customer service and caring nature. Saved us an additional trip to the doctor by recognising an error with the prescription. Thank you so much, it was muchly appreciated.

Such helpful and friendly staff. Wide range of health products and so much cheaper than other stores. One stop shop, always walk out with more than I should
