Malaysian Dining Delights reviews
67Oh, we love this place! It is definitely our go-to place when we crave for Malaysian food! The food is really yum! Big servings at a very good price!
I paid for the cereal prawns, with rice and a Coconut drink, Bland is the perfect description, I was kind of expecting the prawns to be marinated in something at least. They were covered in dry crumbs of some kind of cereal. Very disappointed with the meal, it wasn't worth the $29 I paid. The staff were very nice and friendly, and great people, this won't put me off trying other meals though.
Went here with some of my work colleagues.
Great and deliecious food they have, tasty and yummy.
Es Kacang was so good.
Authentic Malaysian food hidden in the suburbs of Perth.
Sitting in the restaurant I feel like I could be sitting in Kuala Lumpur.
Extremely busy on Friday/Saturday so make sure you book in advance. Carpark is always busy.
I regret to express my dissatisfaction with the prolonged waiting period for our meal, which extended to a full hour. Regrettably, upon its eventual arrival, the quality of the food was merely average when juxtaposed with the standards upheld by numerous esteemed Malaysian restaurants. It is noteworthy, however, that the pricing of the dishes offered remains reasonable.
One of our favorite suburban Asian eateries for a delicious family dinner. We enjoy the spring rolls, crab dishes, fried fish dishes, tauhu telor, honey orange chicken, egg yolk chicken, durian chendol and many other specialities.
This place is always full on the weekends. Reservations are essential. Free parking is right outside.
Make sure you get a booking as this establishment seems to always be busy. Not hard to see why - great food, fair prices and the service was efficient as well. Took about 30 mins for food to come out on a Sat night at 7.30pm but was still fairly packed at this time so understandable.
Some stand out dishes for me were the barramundi fish with kerabu sauce, tahu telor and sambal kangkong. Was a little disappointed with the salted egg chicken and black pepper beef but overall still good.
Came here for dinner on Saturday night with a few friends, and word of advice for weekend dinners: book ahead.
The young lady at the front counter was quite polite to advise me that since I was a little early for my booking, I could take a seat and wait for the table to be made ready.
Kudos to the staff for being attentive to know when we we ready to order, and they knew which items were sold out by 7pm! We were informed of the rough wait time and it was a pleasant surprise we didn't have to wait long for the yummy food.
The atmosphere here is definitely busy with turnover of diners, and the food is testament to this. There's a partial open kitchen you can watch different dishes coming out of.
Authentic Malaysian Chinese food as served and we left well-fed and contented. I felt the price was reasonable to what we had.
Definitely recommended and again, book ahead if you want to have a weekend dinner here.
A+
Best char kway teow in Perth! Kerabu barramundi is a must try, sweet, tangy and crispy all in one.
Authentic Malaysian cuisine! Very good food, can certainly recommend! The Tom Yum was well balanced and they easily changed from Seafood to chicken upon request. The steamed Barra was next level. Big revolving tables for big groups.
Edit 28 Dec 2022
Had dinner after they were closed for the Christmas holiday. Very packed but we made reservation beforehand. Food took 50 minutes to come out, when we were told it would take 30 mins. Understandbly, it was a very packed dinner service. Food still superb, worth the 50 min wait. Staff could smile more but they might be just very focused with work. They were accomodating through our requests of cut chillies, take away containers, cake, plates, knife and lighter for candles. Kudos to the staff - - -
Dined in on Saturday for lunch. We were there before the big crowds. Place was very spacious, clean and modern. Service was attentive and quick. Menu was quite extensive for shared meal. We ordered a number of dishes which all I enjoyed: asam fish fillet, garlic choy sum, black pepper beef, golden floss prawn, salted egg brinjal. For drinks: ice kachang, dinosaur milos. Price was affordable and portion was quite generous. I def enjoyed my lunch and I loved the atmosphere. This was our second time here.
Nice service, delicious food. I requested order over phone and by the time I got there it was ready!
The new place at Parkwood is a huge upgrade in terms of ambience, space and food presentation so it finally looks like a proper restaurant. There are signs they are still fine-tuning (I hope) customer service in terms of clearing tables, sitting customers, taking orders and setting the table, which was inconsistent and needs prompting. For our lunch visit, they were understaffed which may be the contributing factor or lack of staff training. They need to study how good dim sum restaurants are managed. To give the staff credit, most looked like they are trying hard.
We ordered the special tofu telur and mee goreng - both were as good, better presented and about the same price as before. So that's a big tick! The chendol should be avoided - green jelly is frozen solid, total of 4 red beans, coconut milk is lumpy - Yuk! Our main order took about 35 min wait so not a place for a quick eat for sure. We had to chase down the chendol for a bit.
I recommend giving them more time to sort out their processes and staffing but if you dont want to wait, book a table for an earlier session and be patient. This place definitely can be a 4-5 star recommendation, with some tweaks.
Update: they only do dining in for lunch on weekends and lunch take-aways in weekdays.
Ordered 3 dishes (pineapple fried rice, salted fish fried rice, sang har min) which were reasonably tasty and 1 ice kacang which was rather small for the price of $7.50.
Prices are slightly higher than average. Don't expect to get service with a smile here because they are too busy for this added service.
Authentic Malaysian food. My family loves it, the food quality is still kept high as always.
Ordered takeaway, two dishes and it was very good!
Worth trying the lunch menu and dining in.that's all anyone wants good Food! PEOPLE will pay if its authentic, GOOd Food!
Came here countless of times. Many dine in and take aways. Despite busy evening for the restaurant. But taste is still consistent. Takeaway portions are good too.
The most delicious food in Perth, the service is great, the new venue is beautiful and the open kitchen concept is so cool. My son loves the aquariums for the crabs and lobster they offer on the menu. If you love Asian cuisine or if you want to try it out, this is the place to go. I would recommend to call up and make a booking upfront to avoid disappointment or waiting.
Business too thriving?
Care less to notify your customer that you’d changed your business hour to only ‘Take Away’ on certain days.
Came here for lunch today, was told only doing takeout now, not impressed with service, overpriced, long waiting, won’t come again!
