We were here once 13 years ago. At that time it was a very simple camp with around 10 pitches. Today it's a lot bigger and well maintained with hot water showers and well-kept toilets. Thanks to the camp host. We had 3 wonderful days in Lucky Bay. Were happy to have stayed over Christmas. Unfortunately it was completely booked.

The campground was actually full when we arrived in early Dec. You will need to book at least one month ahead. The water at the beach was the most pristine I'd ever seen. What spoilt it was so many people and cars on the beach. We ended up going to nearby Alexander bay almost as good and lots of camping just near the beach. Not touristy

This campground is beautiful! I was worried after reading the various scary reviews about camp hosts but the ones we had were incredibly helpful sweet and caring (i cant remember their names but they were looking after spots 1-22 around the 21st-24th (not alan and sue) there is mountains and beaches all around and i would recommend staying here for at least a few days to be able to appreciate it all (walking, swimming, fishing, hiking etc). The facilities were lovely with hot showers and flushing toilets in the lower bathrooms.would also recommend staying in the lower bays (1-22) as it was veryy windy in the others. *also* some of the locks on the toilets and showers dont work very well so have a friend help you check if its locked!
love it here, thanks to the hosts!

A beautiful place, with a well organised campground, excellent site surfaces well spaced out, and with superb camp hosts. Fantastic walks and beaches. We enjoyed every moment. Pity about non-existent Telstra coverage, considering all bookings, changes have to be made online

Amazing location and job done by the volunteers that keep that campground and toilets sparkling clean. I stayed there with my family on 21/05/2023 and do recommend that. Also, there was a couple of volunteers that are so friendly and helpful. We did love to have stayed there.

Once again, National park and no dogs. Plenty Feral cats, box thorn and other issues plastics etc. Responsible dog owners can't bring their beloved pet with them. WHY? The near by shack owners have dogs and cats in same place.

Campsites are specious and private. We loved that. But I have to say I was super disappointed that both of the camp kitchens had the stove being out of order so we couldn't cook our food. Also, showers are not hot at all. Barely warm. Just 1 temperature, you can't adjust it. But the water tap in the kitchen was boiling hot? ! Nevertheless, beautiful views from the campground!

First of all beautiful campground hosts this month! Kerry and Steve are so helpful and kind. Amazing campground with stunning views from most campspots. Private and spacious with very clean facilities- flushing/drop toilets and hot water! We picked spot 13

Take shower right after sunset would be the best timing, due to getting cold water at night about 9p.m.

Beach driving is way better than 4 years ago

What a great place with plenty of room for everyone and every type of set up. Fires allowed and pit available also. 4wd access to some of the most beautiful beaches in Aus. Drop Toilets are cleaned daily which is a credit to the ranger and his staff. Just loved this place.

What not to love, modern new amenities and camp kitchen, sizeable sites, wildlife at your doorstep, then that amazing beach, WOW!

The good = Lucky bay was an enjoyable stay and facilities were quite nice.

The bad = The overweight ginger ranger (probably aged 35-45) has a cork shoved so far up is you know what. He spoke to myself and others with nothing but disrespect and we were very unimpressed with his actions. In my opinion he is in the wrong job role and should not be in any sort of communication with tourists as he will do nothing other than potentially ruin their stay.

Thanks:)

Spectacular campground with the most picturesque surroundings.
The only unfortunate negatives are Don and Mary, the most awful camp hosts that our entire crew of 6 families have ever experienced travelling around Aus. Petty, confrontational, argumentative and not cut out to be “hosts” of any kind at all.
Still even they don’t manage to detract from such a splendid destination.
Recommended.

What a magnificent place with the absolute worst hosts and Ranger we have encountered anywhere in Australia! The hosts (Mary & Don) were both unnecessarily rude, abrasive and verbally aggressive. We were forced to threaten recording them! The Ranger was just as rude. There is a way to speak to people, there’s no reason to be rude, a little kindness and an occasional smile won’t kill anyone.

Loved staying in this camp site, supported by Unplug rentals. Great camp hosts. The shared facilities were of a high standard and were kept in immaculate condition. Highly recommended.

The camp ground is so well equipped and maintained. There are hot showers in the toilet block and hot water in the camp kitchen for washing dishes.
