Loft 22 reviews
39The food we had was not too bad. The cocktail tasted simply like juice though. Small place but the vibe was good.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the food at Loft 22. So glad I came across this restaurant. Amazing service by Sharmaine, thank you for everything! Her recommendation of the chicken dumplings. OMG so delicious. The dishes are designed to share. Since I was all by myself, I ordered 2 dishes and I was stuffed by the end of it. Generous portions and reasonably priced. The place was very relaxed and that's just the way I liked it.unlike the other place I went to before, it was jam-packed and I was told there'd be long wait for food and I thought there's no way I wanted to be in there wasting my time. I was hungry! Loft 22 saved my tummy More than happy to go back in my next trip to Albany!
We didn't have a booking BUT very friendly waitress fit us in AMAZING food service and wine.make it a MUST if you're down this way
I love the atmosphere at Loft 22, the staff are wonderful, friendly and very accommodating. Another great place to share food, enjoy some time out and make your tastebuds happy. Wonderful dessert selection too, they have churros! A little bit fun I think.
Amazing dining experience at Loft 22 Albany. Do yourself a favour and enjoy the mouth watering cuisine, book early!
Also yummy cocktails, friendly reliable service. We can't wait to return!
Bring back the olives!
This was our 7th visit since opening and always found the food, staff and atmosphere amazing. We would always highly recommend Loft 22 to our family and visitors as the best tapas bar in Albany.
This time we were disappointed that most of the tapas portions had halved in size even though price was the same! We questioned the changes in menu and portion sizes and was advised that there was a new chef. New chef or not, when you set a precedence with fine dining, you can still offer menu changes without making the customer feel short changed! Dessert took over 45 minutes to arrive after asking service staff about it twice! Staff were obviously under the pump tonight and were not as welcoming as previous visits.
We informed the wait staff that we were disappointed with our most recent experience and hope that our constructive criticism will bring back the once solid reputation of great food and a spectacular dining experience.
Something has changed!
Went to our favourite last night with visiting friends from Perth. We’d raved about the experience they were about to have yet we were left disappointed for the first time.
We’ve been countless times. What had impressed me in the past were the serving sizes. They use to be very generous and you knew you were going to get multiple pieces of their heavenly flavoured food.
The Pork Belly serving size was approximately halved. It use to be multiple cubes of deliciousness mixed with other accompaniments on the plate. Last night the five pieces of pork looked very lonely on that big plate all by themselves. We had but one piece each.
The beetroot salad which use to be lovingly constructed on a large bowl edged plate, full of greens, roasted beetroot, walnuts etc turned up on a small side plate with a portion size for one person that looked like it had been spooned out of a large mixing bowl. No greens, no walnuts, lacking flavour.
The Bao buns have lost their zing too. Please bring back the spice!
Too many changes, too quick for us I’m afraid.
Looking forward to getting back in the future to hopefully how it use to be.
Very best regards,
Nigel Wade
Lunch today was 10/10!
2 of us chose from the new Menu
- Beetroot & Sweet Potato salad with Vegan curd = Delicious
- Teriyaki Squid Skewers = so good we ordered a 2nd serve
- Vegetarian Dumplings in the most amazing sauce = so good we ordered a 2nd serve
Well done! We will be back!
Some of the scallops still had a firm band of muscle attached, which was tough and rubbery to eat, it should have been removed prior to cooking, the taste was quite bland. The menu has been recently revised, leaving few appetising options. They claim, "Seafood is our specialty", but this is very far from the truth, there are few desirable seafood options. So disappointing
Nice celebration meal. Tasty dishes that were easy to share and very tasty.
Thank you for making a special effort to make your wonderful pork belly dish even though there were issues in the kitchen.
Mum and dad enjoyed the lunch thankyou.
Great dinner, lovely staff. Loved the scallops and the Brussels sprouts. Great little tapas bar
Enjoyed my lunch, Tapas nice and drinks nice ambience layout inside loved the decor. Dined on a Sunday
Best garlic spicy prawns we have had! Staff are lovely (although it was busy and we had to wait a bit but expected at Christmas time!) wine list is extensive and the atmosphere is lovely!
Been in Albany for a year now and I feel this place has one of, if not the, best menus for food. Tapas always great and drinks to suit. Service attentive and great venue. Came here for their NYE event and I reckon the very best in town. Ya won’t be disappointed!
Absolute next level! Pork belly bites followed by scallops and spicy garlic prawns. Could not fault this place. Hats off to the chef. Highly recommend!
Fast service with friendly staff, and the food was amazing! This is must visit restaurant when in Albany.
Food was okay, needed more flavours. They didnt have half of what was on the menu and it was pricey for what it was too.
Rung to make a reservation but was told they are not taking reservations and advised us to walk in. When we walked in, the waitress asked if we had a reservation so we had to repeat what we were told over the phone again. Confusing! But shortly after we were seated. Were told no prawn, no karage chicken nor scallops while going through the menu. We went there to have Seafood platters, grilled Marrons & Crayfish that we saw in their menu online but none of them offered in the restaurant that night. They only have a Tapas menu but drinks menu is huge. So we informed the waitress as that's not what we expected in food menu wise and left the place.
Had dinner here for birthday with my SO. The environment and design is colour full and exotic (for Albany at least). It was comfortable and even for its small size. The food is done in share meal style which was great cause you got to try a bit of everything. Pricing was good for the quality of food and my SO thought the drinks looked stunning and tasted good. Staff were friendly but did find it hard to get there attention, but they were busy so it's understandable.
All and all amazing spot for a fancy dinner with friends or a special occasion
