What a positively stunning get away location! I had read where we were booked into but the website just can not convey how beautiful a place it is. The pictures can not do it justice, you really need to experience it for yourself.

I have just recently enjoyed one of the best days of my life at Lewana cottages were I was lucky enough to tie the knot with my beautiful wife, from start to finish Mark and Jayne were honestly the best hosts for our whole wedding and made us and all of our friends and family feel welcome from the moment we arrived, getting to spend a weekend in such a picturesque and relaxing location will always be one of the major highlights of my wedding day. Again thank you Mark and Jayne for you lovely hospitality.

Wifey and I took the kids to Lewana for a couple of nights to get away and enjoy some family time and were not disappointed. Being April it was chilly and we really enjoyed being able to roam about without flies and heat, as well as getting the wood fire going in the evening. Feeding the animals was great, the kids loved exploring and playing on the two playgrounds, and there is quite a bit to see around the place if you use your imagination.
For prospective guests the only thing that was a little tricky was the lack of guards around the wood heater which meant we couldn't light it until my son was in bed, but older kids will understand and shouldn't be a problem. No TV and limited or no phone reception is something to be mindful of too, but we didn't visit for that anyway, and the cottages are a decent drive away from any shops for supplies so make sure you take plenty. Mark and Jane were both friendly and helpful, and I have to add the Lemon Passionfruit curd is delicious. All in all a great destination.

Lewana was an idyllic place to stay. Our group rented 6 of the cottages for families over an extended weekend. The roaming kids had an amazing time together. There are animals, a swimming dam and beautiful scenery. We had a party and Mark was very accommodating and lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Upon arriving at the property we were greeted by Jayne at the quaint little reception, and gorgeous gardens with the most magical feel. Jayne is a lovely host who was so welcoming and hospitable but still maintaining our privacy. The property is fantastic and our teenagers (who initially moaned about the lack of internet coverage when we embarked on the road trip to get there) absolutely loved the comical and friendly animals who reside at the property. My 14 year old son spent so much time with the resident emu and he had so much fun (his words) that he didn’t even miss not having internet for two days! The cottage is very clean even though it is older, but we found the bedding immaculate and the kitchen supplies very good. The bbq area is magical and has been painstakingly lit with beautiful solar lighting so at night it has a very whimsical barn feel and is so atmospheric to spend time eating with friends in this area.
We also took advantage of some tips Jayne gave us as to where to find hidden spots at Hegarty creek to enjoy and spent long days camped out by the water which our kids loved! All in all our stay was fantastic and highly recommend visiting. We will be back!

We booked and paid for 3 nights but left after one. Unfortunately we had a very bad and expensive experience at Base camp. The view was of a denuded hill. We needed to park on the road to get a level area. Mark did warn us about the March flys, they were so bad even the dog wouldn't get out of the van. Never used the facilities as it was too far to walk. No we will not be visiting again.

We stayed at Lewana Cottages for a big bash 40th last weekend. The place was perfect for a large group of adults and mass of kids. The kids were about to run wild - looking at animals, riding bikes around the property and - supervised of course - paddling in the dam. Mark and Jayne were awesome hosts, helping find everything we needed on the site and letting us know where to source things in the local community. Phone reception is patchy so it's the perfect place to disconnect and be in nature and with friends. We'll be back for sure!

From early in the initial booking and enquiry stage to the morning we left, Mark was an excellent host. We had ambitious plans for a large event on his property and they were friendly and accommodating at every stage.
The property is spectacular and fun to explore and the dam was a beautiful refuge from the few hotter days we encountered. The cottages are quaint, comfortable and very well kept.
The kids had a blast with all the animals (wild and tame) that live on the property and the adults could relax and enjoy the multiple vista's.
WIll be back to experience this place in winter for sure.

Beautiful location with well maintained large cottages. The kids loved the resident peacocks and alpacas. The owners are lovely and very hardworking.

This is hands down by far the BEST family accommodation we have ever stayed! We loved being in the middle of nature, exploring, playing and enjoying our family time. No devices or screen time necessary. I will be recommending lewana Cottages to everyone. And when I get married, it will definitely be here.
Next time we come we are bringing our kayaks and dogs and staying for more than two nights. When you get to Balingup, stay on the main roads, no need to be exploring in the pine plantations or gravel roads. GPS played silly buggers with us.but was a wonderful adventure. The rain didn't bother us, we loved playing in it, chopping wood, getting muddy and roasting marshmallows in the fire. We found fairy sparkles in the stream which looked like gold. The anaimas were all friendly, especially the chooks who tried sneaking inside for a snack! The peacocks loved showing off their feathers and the alpacas didn't spit.
We came in September, beautiful and green everywhere our hosts were so welcoming and friendly. I honestly wish them and lewana all the best for the future as this will definitely be our new holiday go to place. I can't wait to go back. Would give this place 10000 starts if I could. P. S. Bring slippers in winter as your toes may get cold on the late night toilet run.

My partner stumbled along Lewana Cottages online and we decided to spend a little weekend away here to get out of the city. Everything was perfect. The accommodation was so clean and welcoming with an indoor fire with wood supplied, electric blankets and fully working kitchen. The owners Mark and Jayne were so hospitable and willing to assist in whatever way possible. Was a much needed restful stay with absolutely beautiful scenery and history. We will definitely be back and are now hoping to one day get married there! Thank you so much for looking after us. We can’t wait to come back!

My wife, three young kids and I stayed in 'Fritz's cottage' and we loved it. We enjoyed the family time without technology, sitting by the wood fire and interacting with the animals.
The area is so picturesque.
We will be back for sure.

Such a pristine location and tastefully presented property. The camping spots feel private while still having access to amenities.

We went and stayed as a group of 6. Nice and well maintained property with kangaroo and peacocks roaming around freely. There is no internet or any mobile connections. Hence it’s a great place to switch off and enjoy some quality time with your family and friends. Make sure you get some groceries so you can make some food during your stay as the kitchen has all the basics. The owner couple is friendly and made an effort to have a chat with us. Nothing much to complain about except the bed is a bit to “springy” for my liking but it did not affect my sleep too much. Very reasonable rate. I’m happy to pay slightly more in exchange for extra items such as eggs and toast to go with the complimentary coffee/tea for breakfast.

Update: Thanks for the response from the owner. Sorry in advance if there is a misunderstanding. I was intending to provide a “nice to have” suggestion and definitely not in my intention to expect or demand a B&B service.

We parked our van overlooking the dam you can swim in. We were self contained but looks like toilets and a camp cooking area available. Quiet in a valley setting, owners were great and helpful, they sell homemade jams and fresh honey, water and
ice=creams. Kids would love the alpacas and roos.dog friendly on a leash.

Fantastic property! Lovely hosts, facilities are great and a gorgeous landscape- stunning, lovely amongst the wildlife. And fun to be able to feed the llamas and chickens too. We had a ball camping here. Happily recommend to anyone
