Lawley's Bakery Cafe - Wembley Downs

$8 for a ham and cheese toasty! And it was tiny. There is no price tags on any of the products

Wanted to buy flavoured milk, but it was a day past it’s expiry date.
I have noticed this before, where their milk is either close to, or past it’s expiry date. That is an issue that needs to be solved.
Check and rotate your milk on a daily basis. It’s not rocket science.

Georgia - what a fabulous barista Do yourself a favour and get her to make your coffees (or any hot beverages) she is so pleasant and friendly and knows your name and what you want when you come in

The worst service ever! The young girl this morning did not say a word, dragged herself to get my husband and I a pie and then without any words from her and as she flung the pies at us. I said her manner was appalling. She rolled her eyes snd turned away as quick as the food was flung at us.

Terrible service. For the second time, my catering order was forgotten or misplaced. I went to great lengths when ordering - and paying up front - to tell the staff to please not lose my order. It was a large order, went to pick it up, the staff had no idea what I was talking about. Beyond hopeless, especially when I had such a lengthy discussion about how this had happened before. Silly me for going back - never again. The staff did not seem remotely fazed. Would give zero stars if I could.

I wish they'd make this place better. Bread is average, slow service, 20 customers waiting and 2 staff.

Often go to Lawley’s, always impresses, friendly staff, great coffee, great new presentation of their yummy selection of food.

Unfriendly service. Took the money like a robot, no thankyou. Sausage roll had bugga all meat in and zero flavor. Over priced rubbish.

Where to start?

The manner in which the staff interact with customers is appalling, no communication and merely slamming the product down on the table - not even a “here you go”, or any eye contact/non verbal acknowledgment for that matter.

The three items ordered were each a massive let down in their own right.

The pie was very doughy, but the least offensive of the trio.

The panini was comprised of 90% bread, no cheese, no sauce, one slice of ham and some very fragrant spinach which lent itself to the formation of the meals entire flavour profile.

The third meal, the wrap, was incorrect. I’m unsure as to how they could mix up the wraps as there weren’t many varieties left when I attended the store.

The interior of the venue is also very lacklustre for 2020, it feels like a commercial warehouse located within an industrial zone; mismatched seemingly recycled furniture not of the “funky” kind, exposed concrete flooring and matte black wall finishing - how grim.

Overall, with all of these factors, which on their own make for a terrible experience, the store is a firm one out of five stars - perhaps lower but unfortunately one star is the lowest I can award this location.

Got a bacon amd cheese lack-of-sausage roll. What a terrible overpriced underflavoured piece of bread and pastry. The cheese, bacon and meat content would be less than 5% and must make them an absolute killing. Could not be more than 20 cents of ingredients in this. Threw it in the bin

I do not enter now - have always hated plastic strips that hit me in the face when i enter but have liked pies enough. Not now! Do you think removal of these dirty uncleaned entrances are wrong in this emergency!

Could do with a few lessons in customer service. I can understand once, for five twice, but it's now beyond my returning. Staff more focused on cleaning for closure than serving customers.

Great range, reasonable prices, but NEVER dine in. All of our items came out very staggered and two were forgotten.

Not very clean. Opening hours listed online were wrong (online said 6pm) and then they refused to make us coffee at 3.30pm even though they didn't actually close till 4pm which was the closing time listed on the door. Very disappointing.

Kelly the super efficient manager made and took a platter of goodies to for the staff of my nearby chemist. She made me feel like an angel when the credit was hers for making it possible. Such fabulous service

Been a while since I stopped in, but I recall excellent coffees and the best damn palmieres in the city. My mates who still go here concur.

Open early (6am), great breads and assortments. What else could one ask for from a bakery in the suburbs.

Horrid service! 25 minutes for a sandwich roll that was already made and in the display case while the ENTIRE staff stared at the colour of a $10 note.
In the seven years have going there, their service has consistently gotten worse and their coffee hasn't gotten any better and it wasn't great to begin with. It's ONLY saving grace was proximity.
But, will never waste my time or money there again.
