I celebrated my 40th birthday at La Vela recently with my family we had a table of 14 people and the food and service was amazing all my guests really enjoyed themselves. Thank you so much for making my birthday special. We will definitely be recommending you to our friends and we will definitely be back.

Home made Gnocchi Portofino is our go to here. I am yet to find a better gnocchi in Perth. Always friendly service even when short staffed.

VERY disappointed.
We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and the food used to be "genuine Italian cuisine", but no longer.
Scallopini was beef (not veal) and was way overcooked.
The arancini balls were small, overcooked rice and dried up.
Wine pretty ordinary and overpriced.
Staff were pleasant but hopeless.
We will not return.

Nice little family restaurant. However, it definitely needs some loving. The place feels stuck in the 90s.
A few minor cosmetic changes would go a long way.
Same with the food. The flavour is almost there, but the presentation is quite lacking.
Service was also a bit hit and miss. Some servers were great. Very friendly and helpful. Others not so much.
Overall it was ok, but we will probably not go back.

Four of had dinner here for the first time Saturday night. Got a share plate, chilli muscles arabiata & cabonara pasta and chicken breast in sauce, all the meals were delicious hot and fresh. Staff were attentive and we were served promptly, the restaurant was full and busy. We will definitely be back to this place, well priced quality meals, great menu and service. Worth a visit for authentic Italian food.

I buy from here all the time its beautiful. Waitress stuffed up my order last time and the mangager offered me a free meal next time. Very good service.

Very easy going and authentic as they come. Really nice and friendly service and extremely accommodating at short notice. Food was very home cooked delicious style. The complimentary mini arancini balls are a nice touch. Great evening from start to finish. Looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful food, non pretentious, wholesome authentic homestyle cooking. Just like Nona used to make. Great prices, huge servings. No photos, we ate too quickly.next time.

I've been here many times over many years and never had a bad experience. In particular, they really have the freshest seafood and really know how to cook it. A favorite of mine is the spaghetti marinara. Friday lunch is a great time to go as they have really good specials. The service is also very personal and friendly.

Whilst visiting friends & family in Perth, we dined her 3 times over 5 days!
Not only because the service is very good, but because of the food! The pasta is very good but do yourself a favour & try the Chicken Scallopini - it is delicious!

Very poor management of bookings, we booked thru the website and was allocated 2hrs seating time but it said if we want more time to phone the restaurant which I did, and was told by staff member after checking with chef/boss, to cancel the online booking and she would rebook for the 8 of us, and said I didn’t need to do anything else that she would organise this. However unfortunately we were unable to go as one of our party had to go to hospital, upon phoning the restaurant to cancel 2 people or the whole booking, the person I had spoken to only the night before did not make the booking for me, so guess it was lucky we had to cancel as I don’t know what they would have done had we all turned up for dinner? This is very disappointing as we love this restaurant hence the booking! So make sure you check and double check, before going with a group!

Personally didn't enjoy, calamari was overcooked, spaghetti clams (vongule) was cooked perfect but the pasta was usually dry and was cooked in any type of stock/wine.tiramisu was not nice and ice cream had melted by the time it got to us

Easy to find and plenty of parking.
Top food and a good team of workers servicing.
Will go again.

Best Italian joint in Scarborough and surrounds.
I Get it regularly on Uber eats and they always go above and beyond to make how I like it.

Never had a bad meal from here and the desserts are wonderful.

Only negative thing is that they aren’t open on Monday’s when you need that carb load after a big weekend

Delicious, authentic Italian. The gnocchi melts in your mouth and everything is great value for money.

I just bought my wife 'spaghetti cabonara' and as I was waiting for it to be cooked I saw the lady who served me sneeze twice and rub her nose five times, all the while making other people coffee and other things. Not once did she wash or sanitize her hands! I made it very clear to her that she was not to touch my wife's food container, which she totally ignored twice! NOT happy!
To top it off, after another person handed it to me, my wife took two mouthfuls of it and it went in the bin. A TOTAL waste of money!
NEVER AGAIN!

Very hit and miss. We will not return. Very underwhelming Valentine's and embarrassing in many ways.
